“I like feeling strong, and when I feel physically strong, I feel so much more mentally strong.”

Lindsey Vonn, 39, started her week off with a satisfying sweat sesh. On Monday night, the retired Olympic skier posted an Instagram video of her lower body workout routine, and it was filled with killer leg exercises.

Lindsey gave her followers a preview of her exact workout routine in a quick Reel that showed each movement. The Olympic gold medalist started her workout with single leg jumps to activate her glutes, hamstrings, and quads, before diving into some reverse barbell lunges to work her glutes, as well as her core stability and hip mobility. She continued with kettlebell swings, a full-body movement to get her heart rate going while also working her upper body, core, and lower body.

Next, Lindsey crushed some hex bar squats, which increase quad and back strength, before completing kettlebell lunges to further work her quads and single-leg strength. She ended her sweaty workout with some cardio on a stationary bike. Phew!

While Lindsey was focused on her intense workout, her pup, Lucy, was cheering her on in the background

“Last night’s workout session to start the week off right 💪🏻 Had a furry partner with me to check my form lol 🐶 thx Lucy ❤️@vonndogs,” Lindsey wrote in the caption.

Naturally, Lucy wasn’t the only one supporting the Olympian’s efforts—Lindsey’s fans cheered her on in the comments. “💪 hardest worker in the room!,” one person wrote, while another said, “Keep going 💪👏.” Personal trainer Gunnar Peterson was impressed with Lucy’s assistance, saying, “Please let Lucy know I’m hiring. @lindseyvonn.”

Unsurprisingly, the alpine ski racer takes fitness very seriously, and she shares her workouts to her Instagram often. You’ll see her crushing a full-body Christmas Eve workout with weighted squats and lunges, hitting the slopes, finding a gym while she’s on the road, and even playing a pre-Thanksgiving dinner tennis match.

Even her New Year goals are centered around her physical health. On January 4, she posted a video of a full-body workout with the caption:

“Why hello 2024… LFG 💪🏻 Goals this year =
1) deeper squats and better range of motion
2) better absorption
3) core strength improvement
4) better mobility
5) bigger cardio capacity + endurance strength

It’s a lot considering my knee but the last two surgeries went really well so let’s see what I can do! 🤞🏻💪🏻.”

While Lindsey loves a difficult workout, she exercises for the sake of her mental health. “I’ve always found a lot of mental strength and confidence through working out, especially since I’ve retired from skiing,” she told Women’s Health in 2021.

Lindsey will also never turn down a challenge. “I just like pushing myself,” she shared with WH. “I like feeling strong, and when I feel physically strong, I feel so much more mentally strong. When I work out, I feel like I’m healthier and more confident. I’ve achieved something, no matter how small.”

When it comes to her diet, Lindsey likes to start her day with blueberries and a sugar-free Red Bull before chowing down on some scrambled eggs, she told WH. Her lunch and dinner are packed with protein, and she’ll switch between yummy meals like chicken with kale, salmon, and zucchini pasta with bolognese meat sauce, per WH.
