Lindsey Vonn is a name that resembles shattering records and rewriting names in history. Back in the 2009 World Championships in Val-d’Isere, Vonn uplifted her first world trophy to become the first American woman to win the World’s Super-G title. Directly after her first worlds, Lindsey’s career skyrocketed.
Even though Lindsey had an illuminating, record-breaking career, everything comes at a cost. Soon after retirement, Lindsey was introduced to health issues. Despite having undergone multiple surgeries, Lindsey is all set to overcome all circumstances with unwavering support from the community.
Lindsey shares surgery struggles
The Olympic skier Lindsay Vonn underwent a series of surgeries after her retirement from the world stage. To throw some light on her enthralling and motivating journey after her retirement in 2019, Lindsey Vonn took to Instagram and shared a couple of photographs to document her journey.
Along with the picture, she penned, “I’ve been bruised and broken but I’ve always come out the other side a better person. No matter how many times I fell, I always got back up. I didn’t do it alone though. I am so thankful to have had the support of friends, family and you guys, my fans.“
Back in 2019, Vonn underwent her first operation to repair her LCL or Lateral collateral ligament. Despite undergoing surgery, Vonn continued to have knee-related problems. Among the many pictures where photographs of a prep surgery showing her anticipation ahead of the procedure.
In her other Instagram post, she wrote, “I’ve been dealing with all the damage from my ski racing career and have been trying to manage the pain as best I can,“ Despite undergoing immense pain, Vonn’s unwavering determination has become an inspiration for many in the community who are also praying for her good health.
Fans pray for Vonn’s recovery
As Vonn portrayed her journey pre and post-surgery with the help of pictures, spectators and supporters of Vonn extended loads of appreciation and motivation for the champion skier. While some encouraged Vonn for her incredible journey till now, others called her an inspiration for overcoming more challenging times.
One of the fans, Katie Couric, penned, “Lindsey!!!!! Feel better. We are all out here cheering you on always!!” along with lots of heart emojis. Interestingly, not only fans and supporters but Lindsey herself wrote in the comment section, “I really love how people who have never met are supporting each other in their recoveries. That’s the positive side of social media.“
In addition to the fans, Hollywood stars also came to encourage Vonn for her recent surgery; Rebel Wilson wrote, “Such an inspiration,” and the celebrity hairstylist, dafne_evangelista penned, “Wow,” to appreciate Vonn’s journey. Impressively, another skier who underwent a recent surgery and is recovering from the same, nina_Obrien, commented, “Hero.” Although Vonn left participating in the skiing competitions, she is still loved by the spectators.
