Well, a while back, the Englishwoman took to her social media to share a piece of happy news, all the while giving her American counterpart a jovial rivalry of sorts.
A little while back, Korda had welcomed Greyson John DelPrete as a new addition to their family, all the while exuding elation at becoming an aunt. Now, it appears Thompson has one-upped the 25-year-old, picking a huge family role for her adorable nephew, Maverick Cole Thompson, on her 29th birthday, no less!

A story was shared on the 29-year-old’s Instagram account, showcasing a picture of her cute nephew with a card smiling at the camera. The board was addressed to “Auntie Lexi,” asking her a heartwarming question, “Will you be my Godmother?” She was quick to answer as the professional shared a caption along with the same snap: “Yes I Will!!”
That wasn’t all. Adding on to her caption, the 11-time LPGA Tour champ also mentioned, “And I’ll love, care for, and be there for you every single day!!” It surely does put a smile on everyone’s face. In the next story, she shared another picture of her nephew, but this time the athlete was holding him lovingly. It was shared with the caption, “Got to see Little Mav before I left the country,” while alluding to the Aramco Saudi Ladies International Presented By PIF that will start on February 15 at Riyadh Golf Club.
‘Little Mav’ popping the question would have come off as nothing short of a surprise to the Englishwoman. Moreover, it came the day following her 29th birthday. Interestingly, she shared a post of herself donning a Ramy Brook white-piece dress on her Instagram a while back in celebration of the same.
Thompson seems to have outdone her American counterpart in a hearty manner when she said ‘YES’ to her nephew and became his Godmother. Regardless of the same, it truly was a happy moment for the Kordas when they welcomed a new addition to the athletic family.
Nelly Korda enters aunthood
Jessica Korda and her husband, Johnny DelPrete, embraced their newborn baby a while ago. Meanwhile, the athlete shared the joyous news on her Instagram with a picture of the baby’s small hand in his parent’s gentle embrace, along with a caption of the date of his birth, “2.3.24.” Well, the younger Korda sibling was quick to jump right in and comment, “CAN’T WAIT TO SPOIL THE SHEEEEET OUTTA YOU GREYSON,” all the while taking up the role of the fun aunt.
Surprisingly, even Lexi Thompson had taken to comment under the 30-year-old’s post, as she wished her all the best for the happy occasion with the comment, “Congrats Jess!!” Well, now, one can only wait and see who among the two will turn out to be the more fun aunt to their nephews. Little do the babies know that they are in for a fun-filled future!
