Lindsey Vonn has carved her name as an icon in sports, not just as an Alpine skiing legend but also as a staunch advocate. Similarly, in the basketball world, athletes like Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu have transcended their sport, using their influence as beacons of hope for those in need. Steph Curry and Sabrina Ionescu recently squared off in a 3-point NBA vs. WNBA shooting contest during the NBA All-Star Weekend.

Each successful shot they made contributed to raising funds for charity. Steph’s charity, Eat.Learn.Play, and Sabrina’s charity, SI20 Foundation, will both receive donations. Moreover, each shot they sank resulted in donations from State Farm to support economic empowerment in the black community.

This event was not just about basketball skills; it was about breaking barriers and inspiring kids, especially girls, to dream big and believe they can achieve anything. And now, days after the special event went down, Lindsey Vonn applauded the basketball legends as she also highlighted the impact of sport beyond competition.

In a recent Instagram post, Lindsey Vonn reflected on the profound impact of sports beyond just the world of competition. She uploaded a seven-image carousel post about the latest project of the Lindsey Vonn Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering youth through sports and mentorship. In the post, Lindsey shared her experience working with kids at Aiglon, Switzerland, expressing how engaging and motivating it was to see the impact they could have on young people.

In her caption, she began by quoting Nelson Mandela, emphasizing the idea that sports have the power to enact positive change in the world. Lindsey Vonn then highlighted the message by mentioning individuals like Billie Jean King, Sabrina Ionescu, and Stephen Curry, who have used their platform in sports to inspire and influence others beyond the athletic arena.
