Wolff on Verstappen to Red Bull
Toto Wolff has a seat he needs to fill at Mercedes for 2025, and Max Verstappen is one name that has been linked to the vacancy.

Wolff Mercedes Saudi Arabia

Verstappen’s future at Red Bull was uncertain around the time of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, as he hinted that if Helmut Marko left the team, he would consider doing so as well as Red Bull dealt with the ongoing power struggle within the team and the Christian Horner allegations, which he denied.

Verstappen appeared to hint that his future remained at Red Bull until his contract expires in 2028 in Australia, but Wolff has insisted that a link-up with the Dutchman “needs to happen.”

Novak Djoković will add another name to the list of his coaches in his professional career. One of the main questions is – who will it be?

Dejan Petrović, Riccardo Piatti, Marián Vajda, Boris Becker, Andre Agassi, Radek Štepanek, and Goran Ivanišević are some of the coaches who have worked with Novak Djokovic in his professional career. Although there have also been some cameo appearances by coaches like Mark Woodford or Tod Martin, Djokovic will soon add another name to this list.

The 9 oldest No 1s in men's tennis: Novak Djokovic days away from breaking Roger Federer's record

Some were surprised by Djokovic’s split with Ivanišević, but those who were more informed had noticed some hints in the last months. The two had planned a farewell trip to the United States during the swing of the calendar year to part ways amicably. Based on the tone of Djokovic’s announcement, it seems that the split was a pleasant one.

During Tuesday’s training, Novak was accompanied by Nenad Zimonjić, a former colleague from the Davis Cup team. Although Nenad may be present at some tournaments with Novak, it is unlikely to be a long-term solution. His agent, Carlos Gomez Herrera, who previously served as a sparring partner, will be with Novak in the upcoming period. However, there will be no rush to find a new coach. Discussions, evaluations, and options will be weighed before announcing Djokovic’s new coach.

Considering Djokovic’s impressive career and age, drastic changes in his playing style are not expected. What he needs now is a fresh perspective and someone who can motivate and stimulate him. Shock therapy might be the answer to help Novak regain his form.

Novak Djokovic splits with Ivanisevic after winning 12 Grand Slam titles together

Obvious candidates
Whether Marjan Vajda or Boris Becker will return to work with Novak Djokovic is unclear. While Becker seems like a more realistic option, considering Novak’s needs, someone entirely new will likely be considered. Andre Agassi didn’t have a real chance to work with Novak because he was with him during his worst period, and it’s uncertain whether that missed opportunity will ever be revisited.

Radek Štepanek is working with Sebastian Korda, and Patrick Mouratoglou is busy coaching Holger Rune, although their cooperation seems uncertain. While Mouratoglou has expressed admiration for Djokovic in the past, his current engagement with Rune makes him an unlikely candidate. A few independent coaches are available, while Brad Gilbert is committed to Koko Goff; on the other side, Ivan Lendl’s training style and character may not be compatible with Novak’s. Wayne Ferreira had success with Francis Tiafo, as did Michael Cheng with Kei Nishikori before injuries ended his coaching career with the Japanese player.

Former opponents as a solution
Can Novak hire a previous adversary as a coach? If so, who could be the right person? Over the years, Andy Roddick has been one of Novak’s biggest admirers despite their professional disagreements. Roddick is knowledgeable about tennis and Novak’s opponents, which makes him a great motivator and a potential coach.

Tomas Berdych works with Jiri Lehečka, while Nicolas Massu is Chile’s Davis Cup team selector. Although Massu is an interesting name, Markos Baghdatis, who works with Yibing Wu, could also be a potential candidate. However, as Ivanišević once said, when Djokovic calls, it’s like Real Madrid calling.

Magnus Norman played a significant role in making Stan Wawrinka a three-time Grand Slam champion, defeating Djokovic in two Grand Slam finals. Norman is now coaching Wawrinka again, but there’s no telling what could happen.

Players banned for doping should not receive wildcards on their return, says Caroline Wozniacki, after Simona Halep was beaten on her comeback in Miami.

Two-time major champion Halep, 32, lost 1-6 6-4 6-3 to Paula Badosa in her first match since a four-year doping ban – later reduced to nine months.

Halep was given a wildcard for Miami but Wozniacki said such players “should work their way from the bottom”.

“I have always wanted a clean sport, fair for everybody,” Wozniacki said.

“This is not directly at Simona, but if someone purposely cheats, if someone has tested positive for doping, I don’t think people should be awarded wildcards afterwards.”

The Dane added: “If you want to come back and it’s been a mistake, I understand, but you should work your way up from the bottom.”

Wildcards are awarded by tournaments to players whose ranking is not high enough for direct qualification.

Romanian Halep was provisionally suspended at the US Open in September 2022 after testing positive for the use of roxadustat – an anti-anaemia drug that stimulates the production of red blood cells in the body.

Halep has always maintained her innocence and said the accusations were “scandalous”.

While her case was partially upheld on appeal by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas), it was ruled Halep “on the balance of probabilities” had not taken roxadustat intentionally.

Responding to former world number one Wozniacki’s comments, Halep said: “I didn’t do anything wrong. I didn’t cheat. I didn’t dope.

Triumphant even in defeat, Simona Halep reflects on journey back to Miami Open after doping ban

“So it’s better if we read the decision from Cas that it was a contaminated supplement, it wasn’t doping.

“I never had something to do with doping. I never doped, so I’m not a cheater.

“Only one person being negative about me is not that important because I have hundreds of people that giving me love, so I will take that.”

Halep impressively raced through the first set against former world number two Badosa, of Spain, but struggled to maintain those levels.

With the French Open running between 26 May and 9 June, Halep is looking to build up time on the court.

Halep won the French Open in 2018 and lifted the Wimbledon title in 2019.

Elsewhere at the Miami Open, 43-year-old Venus Williams, a three-time winner of the event, was beaten 6-3 6-3 by 19-year-old Russian Diana Shnaider.

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have crossed scores of multitudes from that ultimate debated, “Men are the catch” comment. Recently, the duo displayed themselves, spending their time together in Oahu, Hawaii. That almost sent Simone Biles to her initial days when she met Jonathan Owens for the first time. “When I first met him, we had a game night and a glass of wine. It just felt right,” the proud wife disbursed once. However, from JO, a lack of admission was there on the topic.

But after a lengthy gap, the GBP safety recently decided to throw some lights that once brewed commotion. This time, Jonathan held his poise minutely.

Jonathan Owens matched Simone Biles perfectly
Jonathan Owens deliberately added some unspoken facts about his wife Simone Biles in his latest face-off with Steve Nelson’s YouTube channel. In the past, the Green Bay Packers safety repeatedly argued about his nonchalance of not knowing Simone Biles beforehand when they met for the first time. But in the latest interview, Owens admitted the down-to-earth nature of the Olympic all-around champion. “we were just going to each other’s house, and she never bragged about the magnitude of her success,” JO submitted. But that was not all.

On a praising note, the 29-year-old NFL homebody added, “Kudos to my wife” subsequently. Moreover, the discussion came to the fore as Jonathan accepted that some of his past tweets regarding gymnastics played otherwise. “they tried bringing my tweets from 2012… I was watching this with my mom like this was my first time watching gymnastics”, he confronted the staggering allegation against him. However, in the COVID period, when Simone Biles and JO met, nothing blew out of proportion as JO stated in the interview. Simone Biles nurtured the same thought as well. In one of her statements, the 26-year-old gymnast went into a romantic roller coaster to unlid the initial romantics between her and JO.

A decent start that grew into a bond forever
In one of her interviews with the Wall Street Journal, Simone Biles narrated the inception of their liking. “I saw him, and I was like, ‘Oh, he’s pretty cute’, so I said hi”, she explained on the matter. It was one of those times when the couple met each other on the dating app, Raya. But, as Jonathan Owens argued in that YouTube interview, the couple never disrupted their brimming lovey-dovey, caring about the media outrage regarding Jonathan’s past tweets or Simone’s omission from the Tokyo Olympics. Rather, the most decorated gymnast went into thankful mode whenever the discussion inclined to Jo’s role in her success.

After Simone faced the ‘twisties’, Jonathan Owens readily stayed beside her. Moments like those made the US gymnast keep her wedding topping her happy list. “I was 19 when I won my first Olympics, and I was like, ‘How am I supposed to top this?’ My wedding topped it,” she stated once. Now the couple is in their happy place again, watching dreams together.

Eddie Hearn has slammed Francis Ngannou for appearing to suggest that his demolishing defeat by Anthony Joshua was down to his early arrival at the arena.

Joshua knocked down the former UFC heavyweight champion three times in two rounds to secure a dominant victory in Saudi Arabia.

Ngannou, in a recent interview on the MMA Hour, said that he arrived at the Kingdom Arena, in Riyadh, two hours earlier than Joshua, appearing to suggest that this was a ‘trick’ to tire him out.

Joshua’s promoter Hearn has taken exception with the comments, suggesting the 37-year-old ‘should know better’.

He told Boxing Social, ‘I was baffled. It is a bit disappointing really.

“He said they got him to the arena (early), who is they? You get given times by the broadcaster.

“He said that he was made to come to the arena early to tire him out for the fight, which is really an inexperienced boxing guy talking here, he should know better.

“You get your time, which is the ideal time that the organizer or the broadcaster would like you there, you make your own mind up.

“Some fighters like to get there three hours before, some like to get there an hour before, it all depends on the fighter.

“If AJ is told for example that “we want you there at 10 ‘o’clock” and we know that the fight is happening at 1am, then we would come a little bit later, because he doesn’t want to be hanging around that long.’

Hearn also reacted to a social media post which contained Ngannou’s comments, stating: “I’m not sure he has come round yet.”

Ngannou after the fight confessed that he couldn’t remember being knocked out by Joshua and that from going back to his stool in between the first and second rounds, he ‘wasn’t there anymore’.

Tyson is making a boxing comeback against social media sensation Paul in the summer and he is training hard for the fight according to his wife, Lakiha Spicer

UFC boss Dana White is confident Mike Tyson is preparing for his Jake Paul fight properly after speaking with the boxing legend’s wife.

Mike Tyson will take on Jake Paul

Boxing icon ‘Iron Mike’ is preparing for a comeback fight against social media star Jake Paul on July 20 at the 80,000 seat AT&T Stadium in Texas. Tyson will be 58 by the time he steps foot in the ring and there is a 30-year age gap between him and Paul, who wasn’t even born when ‘Iron Mike’ had a record of 45-2.

Although UFC boss White admitted he doesn’t want to see Tyson still fight, he is glad to hear the ring legend is taking it seriously. “I love Mike Tyson and I’m not a fan of anybody fighting at our age, but he’s a grown man obviously and he’s going to do what he’s going to do. I talked to his wife a couple of days ago and he’s taking it serious and he’s training for it,” White told Lex Fridman.

“I think Mike Tyson is one of the most unique guys who have crossed over, any of the other fighters from his generation have no way of making money without fighting and Mike Tyson has made a lot of money outside of fighting. Tyson still has that aura that you could be in a restaurant, you’d be like ‘Holy f***, Mike Tyson is here.’

“He still has that aura and energy in a room, he makes lots of money outside of the ring but I think he ends up getting these offers that he can’t refuse.” Paul has a professional record of 9-1 and his third fight took place on the undercard of Tyson’s last outing, an exhibition against Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020.

Paul recently ditched mega-fights against popular opponents in a bid to build up his record, knocking out unknown boxers Andre August and Ryan Bourland in his last two fights. White mocked Paul by bringing up the influencer’s only defeat to Love Island star Tommy Fury and jokingly said he will fight Clint Eastwood after his bout with Tyson.

“Jake Paul did fight a kid his age and he lost. I just saw this thing on the internet yesterday and I reposted it where it says if he beats Mike Tyson he’s going to fight with Clint Eastwood next, Clint Eastwood is 93 years old,” White told Henry Cejudo and Kamaru Usman on the Pound 4 Pound podcast.

There are new problems for Will Smith, as he has been forced to close his charitable foundation, the ‘Will & Jada Smith Family Foundation’, founded in 1997 with the aim of supporting various causes, such as education and health, due to lack of donors.

As Variety explains, Will slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars gala is a big reason why, as it has resulted in considerable drop in support. The foundation went from more than $2 million in 2021 to less than $400,000 in 2022.

However, it is also said that the Smiths were already planning to close it in 2021, as they wanted to start donating privately. In addition, the foundation also had some suspicious payments, such as $3,000 in bank overdraft fees, more than $25,000 donated to mental health organizations that had already disappeared, among others.

Will Smith’s upcoming projects
Professionally, the actor continues with his career as if nothing has happened. Despite the fact that the Academy imposed a 10-year ban on attending the Oscars, the truth is that he hasn’t stopped making films.

As soon as the altercation with Rock happened, he released ‘Empancipation’, a film about slavery that can only be seen on Apple TV. Although his two most ambitious projects are ‘Bad Boys 4’, a film that this week released its first trailer, and the sequel to ‘I Am Legend’, which forgets the ending of the first film, in which his character died.

At 55, Smith is still one of the most beloved and followed actors, regardless of what happened at the Oscars. His career doesn’t seem to have suffered any kind of setback, as Sony continues to trust him, keeping him in one of its most profitable franchises, as does Warner Bros.

Regardless of being rich or poor, fat or skinny, every human being on this planet has regrets! And the same goes for one of the greatest fighters that ever entered the square circle, Floyd Mayweather Jr. No, it’s not about a specific fight! No, it’s not about a business deal! And no! It’s not about an expensive purchase.

What it’s really about is ‘Money’ Mayweather’s relationship with his father, Floyd Mayweather Sr. The father-son boxing duo have failed to look eye-to-eye on many occasions throughout their lives. Whether it’s arguments that saw the legendary boxing son banishing his father from his property or bitter public remarks that intensified their feud, Mayweather Jr. & Sr. have always ended up on opposing corners. While appearing in an interview with India’s ZOOM TV on March 19, Mayweather openly expressed his regret over the conflicts with his father.

Despite regret, Floyd Mayweather stands by the decision he made
Growing up, it was Mayweather Sr. who ignited the flames of boxing in his son, starting something that ended up making Mayweather a super hit. However, that doesn’t mean they didn’t have any problems. In 1992, Mayweather Sr.’s hustling lifestyle caught up to him! He was sentenced to five and a half years in prison on drug charges.

Floyd MAYWEATHER

It forced a young Mayweather Jr. to train with his uncle, Roger Mayweather. He did go back to training with Mayweather Sr. after he was released from prison. But ‘Money’ went back to Roger before the Victor Ortiz fight. It was a decision that drew a rift between the father and son. So, when the host of the interview asked Mayweather about his regrets in life, he said, “I regret beefing with my dad. When me and my dad bump heads, we [couldn’t] see eye to eye at that particular time.”

However, Mayweather still held his father in high regard. He told the host, “My dad is such a great man, such a beautiful person.” He then added, “When I was younger, I think I made the best decision because if I didn’t make the decision that I made, I probably wouldn’t be where I’m at. So, it was a good decision.”

Nevertheless, despite reaching unparalleled levels of success because of his decision back then, he would never choose “Money over genuine love for my children, my mother, and my father. Because once [the person’s] gone, you can’t get that person back.” While the father and son duo have managed to leave their differences in the past, their past looked quite different from today!

‘Money’ Mayweather beefs with Mayweather Sr.
The year was 2011, ‘Money’ was a few days away from his fight against Victor Ortiz when Mayweather Jr. and his father had to be separated by people. The back and forth began with something minuscule but soon turned into an all-out brawl in Mayweather’s gym, captured on camera by then-boxing broadcaster HBO.

Why is 'Floyd Mayweather dead' trending? | The Sun

In the middle of the argument, Mayweather Sr. claimed he was the one who helped hone Jr.’s skills. In response, Jr stated, “You can’t train nobody when you’re locked up. This [Roger] is my trainer right here! Jealousy don’t get you nowhere.” Offended by the remark, his father said, “What jealousy? Who is jealous,” claiming he is the best.

Years have passed since Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his father were at odds with each other. To the relief of his fans, their relationship is much more stable. However, what do you think about Mayweather’s statement?

In 2019, the buzz around the slopes was that Lindsey Vonn, the legendary four-time USA Olympian with an incredible 82 World Cup victories, had hung up her skis. However, her legacy endures, forever etched in our hearts. As she once said, “I had dreamed of winning the Olympics since I was nine years old,” and she proved it. Yet, behind her triumphs lies a lesser-known tale of struggle particularly in her early years as an athlete. She has benefactors to thank and kith and kin to get behind for her winning streaks.

In a recent revelation, Vonn discusses her family’s pivotal role in her ascent to Olympic greatness. Despite not having the financial means typically associated with elite athletes, Vonn’s family became her pillars of strength, offering invaluable support and making sacrifices that paved the way for her remarkable success on the slopes.

Lindsey Vonn’s rags to riches story unveiled in a tete-a-tete with Dwayne Wade
In a recent podcast on YouTube featuring Dwayne Wade, the celebrated American former professional basketball player, with an audience of 90.8k subscribers, he cordially welcomed Lindsey Vonn to his show. When questioned about her passion for skiing, Vonn responded with genuine enthusiasm. She expressed that she loved skiing fast; it was what excited her the most. Reflecting on its origins, she admitted uncertainty, but emphasized her genuine love for the sport. Recalling her childhood, she fondly remembered skiing as the primary bonding activity for her family. She added, “We didn’t go to the beach. we didn’t really have any money for those kinds of things, so you know, we jumped in my grandfather’s old suburban and we drive to Colorado, and we all go skiing.”

She further explained, “When I started racing, I honestly wasn’t very fast. I just loved doing it. Then, as I got better, I decided I wanted to be in the Olympics.” When pressed for details, Vonn elaborated on her experience. She began dedicating herself to rigorous training, pushing to increase her speed. That’s when her passion truly blossomed. Describing her technique, she likened it to the sensation of driving a car downhill. Just as one accelerates by pressing the gas pedal, she finds herself gaining momentum simply by pointing her skis downhill. Her family-backed Olympic glory isn’t bereft of struggles and accidents, most important.

Vonn’s roadblock in 2013
Further divulging her experiences, Vonn disclosed her initial setback in 2013. It marked her first crash, serving as a precursor to a series of unfortunate events. She tore her MCL off the bone, resulting in a string of surgeries and injuries. Despite the MCL’s usual rapid healing process because of its rich blood flow, the severity of the tear complicates matters.

Despite wearing a brace and adhering to all necessary precautions, nine months later, she encountered a similar injury again, underscoring the precarious nature of ski racing where even the slightest error can result in a devastating crash. We wish her crash free post retirement shenaingans though.

It’s the showdown all boxing fans want to see.
A former member of Anthony Joshua’s camp has given his view on the possibility of Joshua taking on Tyson Fury.

After brutally dispatching of Francis Ngannou earlier this month, the boxing world is desperate to see Joshua finally step into the ring with Fury, in what would be one of the biggest fights in British boxing history.

Fury has to navigate his way past Oleksandr Usyk when the pair finally lock horns in May. If Fury successfully beats the Ukrainian, it could open the door for the titanic bout.

Richie Woodall, who worked with Joshua as part of his team at the Olympics in 2012, has been asked about the mouth-watering fight. Although he can see Joshua’s improvement, he still says the match would be too tough to call.
“Last couple of performances he’s boxing really well, it’s working with Ben Davison,” he told Boxing Social.

The way he knocked out Ngannou was very impressive indeed. I think the fight everyone still really wants to see deep down is Tyson Fury versus AJ.

“But Fury has a very difficult fight against Usyk, but Tyson looks in really good shape so it’s a close one to call. I’m actually going for Fury, I think he will be too big for Usyk, but I can’t wait for it.

“But I think the one we want to see is AJ, I think he’s improving with Ben Davison, fair play to him so why not, it’s an exciting division.

“We’ll have to judge it on [Fury’s] next fight with Usyk, it’s going to be a difficult fight and he’s going to have to be at his best so Tyson versus AJ is 50-50 at this stage but if he beats Usyk he starts the favorite.”
