One of the greatest heavyweights of all time has made his feelings clear.

Mike Tyson is one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all-time and dominated the sport for much of the 1980s and 1990s.

Tyson had a total of 58 professional boxing bouts between 1985 and 2005 in a career which spanned three decades and came to a conclusion as he approached his 39th birthday.

In that time, Tyson chalked up 50 wins and just six losses, with an astounding 44 victories on knockout as he demonstrated his stopping power in the ring.

Evander Holyfield beat Tyson twice in the 1990s in back to back defeats, while Briton Lennox Lewis knocked out Iron Mike at a contest in 2002.

Buster Douglas, Danny Williams and Kevin McBride were the other three fighters to have knocked out Tyson in his professional career.

But neither of these three, nor Holyfield or Lewis, were once named by Tyson as the opponent who could live with his punches.

That accolade goes to Jose Ribalta, whom Tyson fought in his 26th bout at the age of just 20 in August 1986.

Tyson won that bout with a technical knockout in the 10th round at the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City in New Jersey.

The victory was a remarkable 26 without loss for Tyson, who only lost his first professional fight in 1990 when he took on Douglas in what was then his 38th bout, having been the undisputed world heavyweight champion between then and 1987.

Speaking back in 2014 to Ring TV in a Q&A, Tyson felt that Ribalta was the one fighter who was able to take his punches as he believes the opponent had the best chin and was the strongest he faced.

He said: “I hit Jose Ribalta with everything, and he took everything and kept coming back for more.

“Jose Ribalta stood toe to toe with me. He was very strong in the clinches.”

Jake Paul will be the next boxer to feel Tyson’s power when face each other on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

Speaking ahead of the upcoming showdown against Tyson – also known as ‘Iron Mike’ – Paul said: “I idolised Mike Tyson until the first time I met him 4 years ago…he called me Logan. Going to make sure he knows who I am real close and personal.”

Rhea Ripley set social media alight after using the stink face on Nia Jax.

The Stink Face was made infamous by WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi during the Attitude Era. The move saw the big man drop opponents in the corner and back his backside into their face. During his time in the company, Rikishi used the move on stars including Kurt Angle, Paul Heyman, and even The Rock.

Now, Ripley has brought the move back, performing an extended version of it on Nia Jax. Footage of the incident quickly spread on social media to the delight of fans around the world. Ripley then went on to successfully defend the Women’s World Championship against Jax and Shayna Baszler at the live event in Springfield, Illinois.

Rhea Ripley Credits AEW Star For Current Look
Rhea Ripley has credited Ruby Soho for inspiring her to be herself. When the star debuted during the Mae Young Classic, she had long blond hair and a more generic appearance. However, in WWE she began working with Soho, who had a completely different look to other women in wrestling. This helped her bring out her true self instead of trying to fit a specific mould.

Today, as part of The Judgment Day, Ripley leans more into a heavy metal presentation, and it has helped her win over fans all around the world and reach the top of WWE. At WrestleMania 40, she will defend the Women’s World Championship against Becky Lynch, who challenged her after winning the Women’s Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia.

Anthony Joshua will likely have a close eye on Filip Hrgovic and Daniel Dubois if they fight on June 1.

It’s now being widely reported that the Croatian IBF mandatory challenger will risk his position to take on the young Brit in Saudi Arabia this summer.

Joshua is the former two-time WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight world champion, and may get a chance to regain his old IBF belt

It’s claimed this bout will take place as part of a mega card alongside Dmitry Bivol vs Artur Beterbiev, Deontay Wilder vs Zhilei Zhang, and the planned Queensberry-Matchroom 5 vs 5 event.

And it will be of keen interest to AJ, as he may well end up facing the winner for a vacant heavyweight world title.

Of course, all four belts will be at stake when Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk meet to crown an undisputed champion on May 18.

However, after that it is known that the IBF will finally order their overdue mandatory fight.

Dubois will be looking to take his spot

Hrgovic earned his place as their mandatory challenger by beating Zhilei Zhang in 2022 and has been patiently waiting for his shot ever since.

However, as Fury and Usyk have signed a two-way guaranteed rematch clause, it is expected that the winner will likely vacate the IBF belt, and just take the WBA, WBC and WBO crowns into the second fight.

This will leave the IBF to order Hrgovic to face the next highest available contender for their vacant heavyweight world title.

At present, this is Joshua.

Hrgovic is the current IBF mandatory challenger

Dubois has the chance to crash the party though.

If he beats Hrgovic on June 1, then the IBF would likely order AJ vs Dubois for their vacant heavyweight world title instead.

Time will tell how the situation plays out.

Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell were all forced to retire from the Australian Grand Prix during an eventful race on the streets of Melbourne. Carlos Sainz took the chequered flag in Melbourne to complete a Ferrari one-two, with Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris joining the Spaniard on the podium.

Verstappen started on pole but was forced to call it a day after just five laps with smoke billowing from the back of his Red Bull car. He was then involved in a frosty exchange with an engineer as he tried to come to terms with the unfortunate manner of his retirement.

Hamilton went on to suffer a mechanical problem of his own, with the Brit grinding to a halt at the edge of the circuit due to an engine failure. Just moments before the end of the race, Russell crashed out after losing the rear end while chasing Fernando Alonso in the battle for sixth place.

Leclerc confident
Charles Leclerc is confident that Ferrari are moving in the right direction and slowly closing the gap to Red Bull.

He said: “It’s been a long time since we have had the genuine pace to have Red Bull… I wouldn’t say under control, because we don’t know what was the real pace of Max today, but I will say that from FP1, we knew that pole position and the race win was possible because we had very good tyre degradation, very good pace, and that is a very encouraging sign.

“However, if you look at the first three races, two out of the first three races they had the upper hand in the race. So we still have a lot of work to do. But that’s exactly what we need to do as a team.”

Russell’s full radio message after crash
George Russell’s radio message following his crash this morning has been revealed.

“Red flag, red flag, I’m in the middle of the track, red flag, red flag. Red, red, red, red, red,” Russell shouted on team radio

“I’m in the middle. Red. F***. Why so long?”

Wolff wants to punch himself
Toto Wolff claimed he wanted to give himself a knock after Mercedes scored no points in Melbourne.

He said: “On one side, I want to punch myself on the nose. On the other side, it’s a testimony that when you get things right, you can turn it around pretty quickly and continue to believe.

“At the moment, it’s a very tough time.”

Horner could sign Sainz
Christian Horner has refuse to rule out signing Carlos Sainz for Red Bull next season after the Ferrari star won the Australian GP.

“We want to field the best pairing we can with Red Bull Racing so, sometimes, you got to look outside the pool as well,” Horner said.

“The market is reasonably fluid in certain parts. I mean, based on a performance like that, you couldn’t rule any possibility out.

“So I think, we just want to take the time and, obviously, Checo [Perez] was compromised today and has had a great start to the season too so we’re not in any desperate rush.”

Toto Wolff responds to questions on Mercedes future
Toto Wolff says it is ‘fair’ to question his future as Mercedes team principal after yet another disappointing weekend for the Silver Arrows in Australia.

Asked if he is still the right man to lead the team forward, Wolff said: “I need to make sure that my contribution is positive.

“I would be the first one to say: ‘If somebody has a better idea, tell me’. I’m interested [in] turning this team around as quickly as possible and I’ll happily give my input on what that would be, or who that could be.

“I look at myself in the mirror every single day about everything I do. If I believe that I should ask the manager question or the trainer question, I think it’s a fair question.

“It’s not what I feel at the moment that I should do. But if you have any ideas about who could turn this around, I would happily listen to them.”

Fernando Alonso hits out after FIA penalty
Fernando Alonso has hit out at suggestions that he drove dangerously while defending against George Russell on the last lap of today’s race in Melbourne.

The Spaniard was later handed a 20-second penalty by the FIA, which saw him slip to eighth in the finishing order, as well as three penalty points.

“I wanted to maximize my exit speed from Turn Six to defend against him,” said Alonso when quizzed on what happened.

“That’s what any racing driver would do, and I didn’t feel it was dangerous. It’s disappointing to get a penalty from the stewards for what was hard but fair racing.

“Still, I’m glad that George is okay. It was not nice to see his car in the middle of the track.”

George Russell speaks out after Fernando Alonso penalty
George Russell has admitted that it was ‘such a shame’ to crash out of the Australian Grand Prix on the final lap in an incident for which Fernando Alonso has since been punished.

Russell said on X, formerly Twitter: “Such a shame to end the race like that. Totally caught out by the car ahead whilst entering the corner, I lost the car and some points for the team.

“Ultimately, we were not fast enough this weekend and we’ll come back stronger.”

Lewis Hamilton digs out Mercedes engineers
Lewis Hamilton has aimed a thinly-veiled dig at Mercedes by suggesting that nothing has changed since last year in a scathing review of their Australian Grand Prix disaster.

Quizzed on the current gulf in class between Mercedes and Red Bull following his battle with Sergio Perez, Hamilton said: “It’s a massive gap. I think they have a second on us, something like that.

“He was on fresh tires but just the way he pulled away down the straight, I was like: ‘Wow’. Same as last year.”

I love to push everything to the limit,” Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn told SHARP. As a world-class alpine skier, Vonn’s trophy-filled resume has more than enough evidence to back this up: her accolades include three Olympic medals and a staggering 82 wins at the World Cup. Along the way, Vonn also became the first female athlete to medal at six World Championships. Though she’s now retired from professional competition, Vonn hasn’t slowed down. During a fireside chat at Range Rover House Whistler with Sahar Nooraei, SHARP Editorial & Creative Director, the athlete covered her whirlwind journey from Olympian to entrepreneur.

Early on, Vonn cultivated an intrinsic drive. To succeed, she had to hold herself accountable. “Skiing is an individual sport, so when you’re in the starting gate, no one’s helping you. You’re skiing down the mountain by yourself, and you’re 100% responsible for the outcome,” Vonn said. Complete accountability doesn’t intimidate Vonn in the slightest — in fact, it’s quite the opposite: “I think knowing that win or lose, you hold the power in your own hands, is really empowering.”

Another lesson from alpine racing? Focus. “You have to be 100% present. You can’t be thinking about anything else, whether it’s personal or professional,” Vonn shared. “You can’t be distracted for one second — otherwise, you could literally die.”

Despite the high stakes, Vonn found that skiing was a welcome reprieve from day-to-day stressors — even during the height of her racing career. She called the sport “the one thing that I was able to be 100% present with,” making it an instant passion. “It was obviously the speed and the adrenaline [too], but being present is a hard thing to do these days.”

This feeling — an adrenaline-induced calm — is almost unique to alpine sports. Off the slopes, it’s hard to find the same combination of stimulation and clarity. Perhaps that’s why Vonn has been chasing it since childhood. “I grew up a kid in Minnesota who wanted to be an Olympian,” Vonn remembered. While there’s plenty of children with the same lofty goal, very few can relate to Vonn’s dedication. She attributes much of this to alpine ski racer Picabo Street — the first American woman to win downhill season titles at the 1995 and 1996 World Cups. Vonn looked up to Picabo, inspired by her success in the field.

“Picabo was a disruptor. She did things her own way, very different from everyone else. She did not fit the mold — she was the opposite of the mold, and I respected that. I think that helped me, in turn, be myself and forge my own path,” Vonn explained.

There’s something about being present when you’re driving a car. I like to find those moments where I can be present, and I don’t think about anything else.”

Lindsey Vonn

Forge her own path she did: Vonn’s ambition took her well beyond the slopes. After retiring from alpine racing in 2019, the 39-year-old become a career chameleon. In the mere five years since, Vonn has proven herself as an investor, author, entrepreneur, and even documentarian. Extracurriculars include a stint at Harvard’s “The Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports,” as well as a slew of high profile collaborations and ambassadorships: Range Rover, Rolex, Gucci, and HEAD, to name a few. “Investing was just the next step of my evolution in business,” Vonn said.

On the surface, the corporate world seems at odds with alpine skiing; with its focus groups and risk-assessments, it’s a far more ‘measured’ place. The athlete’s version of entrepreneurship, though, is decidedly different. To keep it exciting, Vonn stays true to herself.

“I value relationships, I value loyalty, I value being honest,” she said. For the athlete, that means partnering with brands that share her passion for adventure. With Range Rover, she’s found that. On a recent trip to South Carolina, for example, Vonn recalled: “We went off-roading, and I just got to max out the car. It was absolutely amazing — kind of how I operate as a human being.”

Exceedingly durable and endlessly adventurous, off-roading in a Range Rover is perhaps the vehicle equivalent of a skier’s flow state. “From a partnership perspective, for me, it’s always been a perfect fit. I never have to question it,” Vonn agreed. “There’s something about being present when you’re driving a car. I like to find those moments where I can be present, and I don’t think about anything else. I’m lucky enough to be partners with Range Rover and be able to have that experience — to be present like I used to when I raced.”

Of course, there’s more to Vonn’s story than fast cars and steep slopes. During her almost two decades spent competitive racing, Vonn sustained multiple career-threatening injuries, one of which forced her to skip the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. Instead of moping, though, Vonn took the setback in stride: “I look at [injuries] from a different perspective, like, ‘what’s the opportunity here? I have a very open mind.” In fact, the time off only encouraged her triumphant return during the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, where she earned a third Olympic medal.

From the outside, it’s easy to mythologize Vonn’s story. At first glance, her career reads like an epic: a hardworking heroine turns setbacks into slingshots, finding global success. Look past the Olympic wins and record-setting races, though, and Vonn’s narrative is profoundly human. Her challenges on the mountain pale in comparison to the hurdles faced in private. Opening up about her mental health, Vonn said her battle with depression began as a lonely one: “There were no tools, there was no guide, there was no one helping me. I was just a teenager trying, to figure out my way in life, and — at the same time — trying to be a professional athlete.”

A culture of stigma makes fertile ground for mental illnesses like depression and anxiety; their insidious nature often prevents people from seeking help. This was certainly the case for Vonn, who remembers feeling insecure about her struggles. “When I was a teenager, if you said, ‘I’m depressed,’ that was a huge sign of weakness. I never told anyone because I was afraid of what people might think of me,” she revealed. Vonn even worried that opening up would compromise her career in sports: “I was teetering on, ‘am I on the US ski team, am I not?’ If I were to say something like that, [I thought] that would hurt my potential of remaining on the US ski team.”

It shouldn’t be so challenging to get help, and for people to even say they need help. It should be second nature to us as human beings.”

Lindsey Vonn

Though Vonn was on the verge of a career breakthrough, she felt more isolated than ever. Mental health was hardly discussed, which meant that tools for dealing with depression were inaccessible. Lacking outside support, Vonn worked through her inner turmoil by turning inward: “I spent a lot of time talking to myself through my journal, and sorting out my emotions, how I dealt with them, and how I could move forward.”

Coping with depression isn’t entirely different from alpine racing: to succeed, Vonn needed to show up for herself. “For me, when I was alone on the road, it was very challenging; luckily enough, I figured out a way and now I’m here,” she added.

Lindsey Vonn for Range Rover House in Whistler

Initially, it wasn’t easy for Vonn to open up about her struggles. Then again, qualifying for the Olympics was no cakewalk either. Despite her apprehension, Vonn felt that opening up was the right decision: “I started talking about mental health in 2012 and no one was talking about it — you’re like, ‘is it going to ruin my career if I start talking about depression?’ Ultimately, I decided that it was important for me as a person. I just needed to share it, and that’s part of my journey.”

Vonn’s vulnerability garnered a large public response, sparking a conversation about athletes’ mental health. “So many people came up to me and said ‘I’m so happy you said that. I have depression too,’” she said. Still, a lack of public knowledge meant that others were less understanding: “There were some [people] that were like ‘are you taking medication today?’ And like, it’s not Tylenol — it’s not like you have a headache and you take Tylenol. It doesn’t operate that way.”

The most impactful thing is seeing that I can have a positive impact on other people.”

Lindsey Vonn

Nearly a decade later, the skier stands by her decision to open up. She hopes that her work, along with fellow advocates like Michael Phelps, Naomi Osaka, and Simone Biles, helps erode the stigma around mental illness. “It shouldn’t be so challenging to get help, and for people to even say they need help,” she said. “It should be second nature to us as human beings.”

Lindsey Vonn for Range Rover House in Whistler

In 2024, a growing number of athletes are speaking about mental health. Vonn applauded tennis player Rafael Nadal for his perspective: “Nadal was quoted a couple days ago, saying the same thing that I’ve always said: if you’re injured, you have knee pain, you go to a doctor, you do rehab, and you fix it. It’s the same thing with mental health. Like, you don’t feel good, you go to a psychologist [or] a therapist, and you get help.”

“I’m very happy that I shared it and I think it did help a lot of people, especially kids,” Vonn said. “That’s the best thing — not just through mental health, but my whole career — the most impactful thing is seeing that I can have a positive impact on other people. That’s what Picabo did for me, as a 9-year-old. That’s how I approach everything — if someone can have big of an impact in 90 seconds, how can I pay that forward and help other people?”

In 2015, Vonn answered the question. Inspired by her advocacy, Vonn founded the eponymous Lindsey Vonn Foundation to empower young women. “My foundation was one of the biggest silver linings that came out of my injuries,” she said. “I’d missed two seasons in a row, the Sochi Olympics of 2014, and I really sat down with myself said, ‘How can I make this a positive thing?’”

Lindsey Vonn for Range Rover House in Whistler

The Foundation takes a multifaceted approach to well-being, offering weekend camps and supporting sports and education through scholarships. Workshops tackle topics like confidence, social media, financial literacy and body image. Vonn calls the latter “a huge issue for kids.” At its heart, the Lindsey Vonn Foundation passes on lessons from Vonn’s own story — namely, how to turn negative setbacks into positive opportunities. “This next year will be our 10th year, and I’m very thankful to be in a position where we can give back. I hope to grow it, expand it, and help as many kids as possible,” she added.

Vonn lives up to the lessons, too. Her retirement wasn’t just the end of a racing career — it was the start of a new lifestyle. When she decided to pursue entrepreneurship, Vonn asked herself: “‘What can I do to be smarter, more educated, be in boardrooms and be comfortable?’”

Lindsey Vonn for Range Rover House in Whistler

Talking about her career pivot, she said: “It’s figuring out ways to reinvent myself, not because there’s an expectation, but because I personally want to evolve as a businesswoman and as a woman in general.”

Led by the same drive that conquered the slopes, Lindsey Vonn is constantly breaking new ground — her next move is anyone’s guess. What we do know, though, is that she’ll make it there in record time. As the skier said herself, “That’s just how I am: always on the gas.”

Novak Djokovic is currently enjoying his time off the court. A few days ago, he attended the Le Club Lacoste Miami Open Launch Party at the Soho Beach House in Miami, Florida, along with his ATP peers. And, now he was seen enjoying a bright sunny day at the beach with his wife Jelena Djokovic.

Novak Djokovic and Jelena first met each other while attending and playing tennis in high school. They went on to date for almost 8 years, before eventually tying the knot in 2014 (just a few days after Djokovic won his second Wimbledon Championship) in Sveti Stefan, a small coastal town in Montenegro. In this instance, Jelena took to Instagram to post a picture with her husband at the seashore of Miami and captioned the picture with a ‘heart’ emoji.

The 2023 season was one of the best seasons of Novak Djokovic’s career. After its end, Djokovic penned down a heartfelt note to his wife saying, “What an amazing season this has been. Forever grateful to my wife for being the best mother I could ask for to kids, while I was making history of the sport. Her support and love that I have been feeling from my family made this historic season possible.“

Who Is Jelena Djokovic? Inside Her Life With Novak Djokovic Away From Tennis

In 2021, during an interview, Jelena revealed that despite being a “great professional” Djokovic is also a “wonderful father.” Notably, he was recently seen taking some time off his busy schedule to express his love and affection for his wife by sending her kisses during the 2024 Indian Wells Masters campaign. Having said that, Djokovic also acknowledges how it can be a challenging affair to be with him.

“It’s kind of living on the edge with the wolf” – Djokovic
During an on-court interview, Novak Djokovic revealed that being in a relationship with him can be very challenging. He referred to himself as a wolf and stated, “It can be very stressful to run with the wolf. I know that she doesn’t enjoy it at all times. It’s kind of living on the edge with the wolf.” He believes he “carries” the traits of a wolf within himself, saying that the dynamic energy can sometimes turn into a roar or outburst.

Who Is Novak Djokovic's Wife? All About Jelena Djokovic

Meanwhile, getting a lot of public attention and being in the limelight all the time is pretty challenging for Jelena Djokovic. During an interview with ‘Hello Magazine,’ she stated that their relationship was like ‘science fiction’. “Us getting together was like science fiction almost. I was a student barely getting by, and he was a very young tennis player who also had no money to spare on expensive trips.” She also revealed that their relationship would have been impossible if she hadn’t left her job.

2K gave a treat to all tennis fans when they announced the news of Top Spin 2k25 out of nowhere. Top Spin was a series of tennis games that lived largely in the hearts of its fans. Many were distraught as Top Spin 4 was the final installment in 2011. But after 13 years, it returned to us, and it features many new players, including Coco Gauff.

While the American sensation is one of the biggest selling points of the game, she has not played it herself. But she recently revealed who she would choose if she were to play the game, and she did not choose her idol.

Coco Gauff is excited “to be in a video game” although she doesn’t “play much sports games”
Gauff recently played her first-round match against Nadia Podoroska and won it in a dominant display of 6-1, 6-2. After the bout, she sat down for an interview where she talked about the much-awaited game – “Yeah, I knew I was going to be in it because actually, in Australia I did the little scan thing that you do for it. I actually never played the game. I have seen it. I don’t play much sports games, to be honest. But I will try to get it and maybe see how I play. I’ve seen a video of it, and the swings look funny. Yeah, it’s pretty cool to be in a video game. I don’t know how I would feel playing myself, though.”

When further asked who she would want to play as, she said, “Probably as one of the big three, yeah. Probably them.” At the moment, Roger Federer is the only big three player in the game. It went on to show Gauff’s preference for him over her idol, Serena Williams, who is also in the game.

Season passes are set to come sometime after the initial launch, and we could also see Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic join the roster. While Gauff is not certain about the game, another player said that it can be a great development for tennis.

Daniil Medvedev opens up on tennis once again making a stake in sports games
There have been many tennis games since Top Spin 4, but none of them managed to fill the hole that the 2K tennis game left. With the release a month away, Daniil Medvedev believes its return will be highly beneficial for tennis. He believed FIFA, now EA Sports FC, has been a dominating force in sports games, and playing Pro Evolution Soccer does not scratch the itch.

“Yes, play Pro Evolution Soccer somewhat close, but it’s always FIFA. FIFA now FC, so let’s see if in tennis, we can have uh something like this, and I think uh yeah it’s going to be good if the game is good and uh even tennis players can play.”

The return of Top Spin 2K25 is one of the most exciting events for tennis fans besides the Miami Open. Playing the game on day 1 will be a priority for many as they hope it can live up to the legend of Top Spin 4.

His son, Charlie, is a budding golfer and fans have taken notice

Charlie Woods has been given extra security protection after being swamped by overzealous fans following his debut appearance this week in Carolina.

The youngster, 15, is playing at the 2024 Will Lowery Junior Championship this week with his father, golf icon Tiger Woods, marking Charlie’s debut at the American Junior Golf Association.

Tiger Woods: ‘I am pain free and I don’t ever want to stop playing’

But the occasion was marred after the budding golfer was forced to bring in a host of security personnel and armed police to protect him from the crowd getting out of control.

It comes after Woods Jr attempted to qualify for the Cognizant Classic in February, only to see his hopes of progressing impacted by fans eager to catch a close glimpse of the American prodigy in action.

A big part of his run was hampered by a large number of fans swarming the young golfer, with intruding fans seen walking alongside him and asking for photographs, distracting him from focusing on the green.

The teenager ended up shooting a round of 86 and it is fair to say some part of his disappointing score was down to the disturbances caused while he was on course.

It seems his management and father were keen not to have a repeat for this tournament, as they brought in a team of security officers to shield him. According to reports, police have been deployed at the entrance and are ensuring fans are thoroughly checked before they are let in.

Heavy pressure on Charlie Woods
It is inevitable that Woods Jr will be facing the spotlight as he attempts to make his way into professional golf, largely due to his father’s exploits in the sport.

At the age of 48, Tiger is still playing, although he has limited himself to one major event a month after experiencing life-changing injuries in a car crash. He even caddied for Charlie at Notah Begay III and played alongside him at the PNC Championship.

If he is anywhere near as talented as his father, Charlie will no doubt have a bright future in the sport. But it seems fans need to be responsible in how they treat the youngster as he gets to grips with his status.

The rising star of boxing Ryan Garcia hung out with retired legend Floyd Mayweather on several occasions. Back in January this year, ‘KingRy’ even went on a run with Mayweather on the streets of Las Vegas. This friendly relationship brewing between the two poured gasoline on the already fierce rivalry between Mayweather Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions. It even raised concerns about the relationship between Garcia and his promoter Oscar De La Hoya being permanently fractured.

De La Hoya and Mayweather are long-time foes, and their bad blood dates back to their contentious fight in 2007. The former six-division world champion suspected foul play when Garcia was spotted with his nemesis, Mayweather, so many times. He warned ‘Money’ against having an influence on Garcia’s business decisions by acting as his promoter. In response, ‘KingRy’ came to Mayweather’s defense, claiming that he was just ‘mentoring’ him. In that context, De La Hoya didn’t mind Floyd giving tips to improve Garcia’s in-ring skills. However, after spending time working out, and training together, Garcia claimed in a recent X Spaces conversation that he’d knock out Mayweather.

Ryan Garcia believes he’d dominate ‘prime’ Floyd Mayweather
In a conversation on X, Ryan Garcia was asked who he believed, among the classic boxers, that he’d knock out in their prime. His options were Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Floyd Patterson. Well, Garcia ignored the list and claimed that he’d knock ‘prime’ Floyd Mayweather out in a boxing fight.

Garcia said, “I honestly in their prime, I believe I could knock out Floyd Mayweather.” Well, this shocked the person who asked the question, since he took the name of Floyd Patterson, while Garcia misheard it to be Floyd Mayweather. Still, this shocked the panel, considering that he seemed to have a great relationship with ‘Money’.

The rift in their friendship might have been caused by Mayweather instigating Garcia to fight Rolly Romero which did not materialize eventually.

Garcia admits to being influenced by Floyd Mayweather

He stated, “I’m in Vegas, I’m having a great time, I’m hanging out with Floyd… Floyd’s pretty influential, he’s like ‘Why would you do that, why don’t you you fight Rolly for the belt and then fight Devin Haney?’… And then I made a quick decision, I said ‘Floyd, that makes sense, I’ll go get another belt’.”
