A theft hardly captures much attention. But for some reason, this one did. It caught the eye of none other than the undisputed middleweight champion, Claressa Shields. She was left baffled by a heist, caught on camera, at an Apple Store in broad daylight. However, the detail that recorded itself in her film of memory was something else entirely.

Earlier today, reports emerged that an Apple store in Oakland was robbed in broad daylight. The thief yanked out iPhones kept on display without any qualms. The crime comes in the light of California Governor Gavin Newsom launching a fresh set of strategic attacks in curbing crime in the area. While visuals from the theft made their way to the web, many wondered how the man could do his deed without any interference from the cops. The same doubts persisted in the mind of the undisputed champ Claressa Shields.

Claressa Shields wonders where the cops are
The masked man went about pulling 49 iPhones off their security chord and shoving them into his pants, as a shocked crowd of Apple staff and customers stood watching. No one from the staff, including the security, attempted to intervene. It must be noted that Apple employees are generally instructed to not intervene when such shoplifting attempts are made, to avoid further confrontation. Generally, some outlets of Apple have designated security personnel who prevent such thefts from happening. However, some stores do not encompass such security staff, like in this case.

As the thief makes his way out of the store with a trouser full of stashed iPhones, a cop car can be seen parked right in front of the store, which the thief then nonchalantly crosses to get in his car and drive away.

On her X, formerly Twitter, ‘GWOAT’ reacted to the visuals from the theft that went down in the Apple store. What caught her attention was the lack of police personnel, even with a car parked right in front of the store. Responding to the snippets shared by Daily Loud, the 28-year-old fighter wrote, “Walked right past the cops…. Wow.”

While the thief had full access to the demo phones on display, he did not venture into the back room where sealed, packaged goods are stored. Access to this area is usually limited to only some Apple staff. It is also believed that most products kept on display are dummies and do not possess many of the features of an actual sealed iPhone that is up for sale. While the loss incurred in such robberies could be much less, the risk of life of staff and customers still persists.

This robbery is not a standalone but is a part of many other such incidents that have been on the rise in Oakland County. Claressa Shield’s response mirrors the reaction of many. Do you concur with her sentiments? Let us know in the comments section below.

Canadian tennis star Bianca Andreescu is planning to make a comeback to the port in August after she was away due to her back injury since August. However, before she made her comeback, she decided to enjoy her time off by attending the NHL All-Star Game in Toronto over the weekend. And her primary reason to attend the concert was due to Justin Bieber.

UFC legend Rashad Evans has made an extremely bold prediction about Francis Ngannou ahead of his monstrous fight against Anthony Joshua.

Ngannou took Tyson Fury the distance in his boxing debut last year after leaving the UFC as the promotion’s heavyweight champion.

Boxing: Anthony Joshua Rises In Latest Heavyweight Rankings

He dropped the WBC title holder en route to losing a controversial decision on the judges’ scorecards.

Ngannou will get another crack at one of the other big players in the heavyweight division as he faces Joshua on March 8.

Joshua, who used to hold the world heavyweight titles before surrendering them to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021, is on a three-fight winning streak, having suffered back-to-back defeats to the undefeated Ukrainian star.

‘AJ’ returned to the win column after beating Jermaine Franklin before stopping Robert Helenius.

And he destroyed Otto Wallin on the ‘Day of Reckoning’ card in his last outing in a masterful performance as he seemed to roll back the years.

The Brit welcomes the ex-MMA star back to the ring, with former UFC light-heavyweight champion Evans backing Ngannou to become the world heavyweight champion in boxing.

“I mean, it’s hard for me to put anything past Francis, man. That performance and now he’s gonna be fighting Anthony Joshua,” he told Give Me Sport.

“I mean, I think he’s gonna do it. I made a prediction at the end of [2023] and I said: ‘I think that Francis Ngannou is gonna be a heavyweight boxing champ by the end of the year’.”

Even though the former UFC king didn’t beat Fury, he shocked the boxing world with his showing against arguably the best fighter in the division and garnered huge praise.

Just months after troubling the self-proclaimed ‘Gypsy King’, he will look to get off the mark in the boxing ranks when he takes on Joshua next month.

Iga Swiatek’s psychologist, Daria Abramowicz, recently encouraged athletes to savor victorious moments instead of focusing solely on financial gains.

Abramowicz has been a constant presence in Swiatek’s corner since 2019. During their partnership, the 22-year-old has secured three French Open titles and a US Open title.

On Monday, January 5, following the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, the WTA took to Instagram to post a meme featuring American indie supergroup boygenius and Taylor Swift celebrating their Grammy Awards win. In the image, Jack Antonoff stands beside them with his own Grammy Award, seemingly indifferent to their euphoria.

Celebrating a WTA title,” said the text in front of Taylor Swift and boygenius bad members. “Realizing you have a flight to catch in 45 mins,” said the text in front of Jack Antonoff.

Abramowicz responded to the post in the comments section by acknowledging that performance psychology can shed light on the message conveyed by the meme. She emphasized that athletes should learn to appreciate moments of achievement and not solely concentrate on earnings.

Well and performance psychology can say one thing or two about it. Athletes should learn to appreciate achievement moment and not only focus on earning process,” Daria Abramowicz commented

“Communication is different than with a therapist: Daria and I know each other well,” – Iga Swiatek on her relationship with her psychologist

In an interview from November 2023, Iga Swiatek discussed her relationship with her psychologist Abramowicz and stated that her team had been a significant source of support over the years.

Speaking to WP SportoweFakty, the World No.1 said that her psychologist’s support extended beyond managing emotions on the court, and included various aspects of their everyday life as well.

Our cooperation does not only concern controlling emotions on the court or implementing mental training, but also in everyday life, communication is different than with a therapist you see once every two weeks. Daria and I know each other well, but as a professional she wouldn’t let it affect our work,” Iga Swiatek said.

The Polish star added that she spent a lot of time with her team during the year and that it was inevitable that her work and life intersected.

We set session times and work through specific things. It doesn’t change the fact that we can eat dinner together or watch something. Sometimes elements of work appear between sessions. I’m on tour almost all year round, so I spend time with each of my [members] not only on the court or in the gym. My team is a huge source of support,” she said.

Lindsey Vonn has been a prominent name, unlike others in the alpine skiing realm. 4 Olympic medals, and 4 overall world cup titles later, she stands as a trailblazer in many ways, inspiring thousands down the line. Today as the Junior Alpine World Championships row takes centre stage over women’s representation, the icon’s voice resonates louder, backed by the path she has walked.

The Junior Alpine World Championships recently saw a successful run over a week in France. However, despite all that the Championships offered, it lacked coverage of women’s Slalom and Giant Slalom. Lindsey Vonn, observant of the same, announced her perspective on the matter raised by fellow skier.

Lindsey Vonn stands by fellow skier
A day after the Junior World Championships came to an end, Charlie Guest OLY, the Scottish Ski racer, took to her Instagram to address the matter. The skier stated that while the event was indeed successful, not having women’s coverage could impact a great deal on the younger generation. Unintentionally or not, the practice would send a message that “female athletes are not valued,” she adds. Lindsey Vonn, who has faced her share of sexism on the path, regarded Charlie for her courage, for speaking up. She further went on to explain the stem of the problem, offering insights.

Stating that she had made inquiries into the matter, Lindsey Vonn revealed it was not FIS but LOC (Local Organizing Committee) that managed broadcasting. “While I understand it is not always easy to broadcast ski racing, it is our responsibility to invest in both men and women equally,” she added on her Instagram stories.

The icon further put forward the example of Billie Jean King and the impact her actions had on the Tennis industry and offered that it was athletes and administration in power who could help the growth of the sport by helping the rising women’s talent. As Charlie points out, WJC offers a platform for youngsters to grow, and a misstep could have severe implications on athletes’ careers. In defying the wrongs, the youngsters did not fail to present a spectacle.

Fabulous display by women at WJC
In the first broadcast-missed events, Canadian Britt Ricardson took home the Giant Slalom title. Posting 2:01.96, the 20-year-old fetched a first WJC medal. “I’m just super happy,” were Richardson’s words. Next along the line, the Latvian rising name, Dženifera Gērmane, scored 1:22.98 to take home the Slalom title. Victoria Oliver for Downhill, Malorie Blanc for Super -G, and team Alpine alongside Anuk Brändli were other notable names for the event.

“We must continue to support women across all sports and I will always do my best to help,” was Lindsey Vonn’s words. The icon’s backing alongside Charlie’s proves a fair path ahead for the young athletes marking their first steps.

Hoping to get the best of both worlds, Holger Rune has hit a roadblock. After adding the former coach of Djokovic into his team, Rune went on to collaborate with the former coach of Roger Federer as well. However, in less than 2 months, both of them decided to part ways, and recently, the Danish tennis player’s mother, who is also her son’s manager, shared her regret over hiring Luthi as a coach for his son.

Severin Luthi was supposed to be in the courts with Rune throughout this year. But now, Aneke Rune has opened up about the wrong decision of having the Swiss coach on Rune’s coaching team.

Was Holer Rune’s collaboration with Roger Federer’s ex-coach a mistake?
For the past few days, the news of the 20-year-old tennis player splitting up with his coach has been grabbing a lot of headlines. Especially because the separation happened just 2 months after their partnership started. But now, the world’s 7th-ranked tennis player’s mother, in a podcast show, talked about the decision to hire the 42-year-old Swiss tennis legend’s ex-coach.

She said, “Maybe also we were a little naïve and also a little you know, starstruck, like saying, oh, Roger 20 grand slams, it’s not a problem to bring in a new coach. Clearly, this was naïve. But, you know, as I said, you can always be wise looking back.”

But now a lot of things are opening up in the same context. In the same conversation, she also dwelled in detail and talked about her son’s coaching collaboration with the Swiss coach. However, at the same time, she also shared her thoughts on how Severin Luthi wasn’t working out well for the 20-year-old tennis player.

Was working with Luthi not a good idea for Rune?
In this same podcast interview, Aneke Rune detailed how the past few months were not that easy for her son. She said, “If we look back, and you should revise backwards, if you could do that all the time, it would be easy, then, then it was not the right timing to implement new stuff, because the player is obviously more nervous at Grand Slams.”

Along with that, she also highlighted how she was not supposed to see Luthi even before going to Melbourne. While it was not easy to adjust to the changes that were brought by Federer’s former coach, they eventually split up.

Nevertheless, what are your thoughts on Holger Rune splitting up with Roger Federer’s ex-coach? Share your views in the comment section below.

Max Verstappen has been taking time to test in a different category of motorsport recently in aid of friend Thierry Vermeulen.

Max Verstappen talks all things racing with team-mate Sergio Perez

The Red Bull driver has been assisting Vermeulen in improving the setup of his Emil Frey Racing team machine – which runs in the German GT3 category DTM.

Verstappen has had a marked effect on both car and driver, with the second half of last season seeing Vermeulen pick up seven top ten finishes in ten races – having failed to score any in the first six races of the season.

Although the Dutchman has shared interest in racing in other disciplines, it’s unlikely he prefers to leave F1 for DTM at the first opportunity, instead eyeing a shot at the Le Mans 24-hour race.

Frey-Hilti: Watching him work is extremely fascinating
According to Emil Frey Racing team manager Lorenz Frey-Hilti, Verstappen’s traits have made him a pleasure to work with, even if the move was confusing at first glance.

“Max is very straightforward, a very down-to-earth guy, very nice, with no star quality,” he told German outlet Blick. “Watching him work is extremely fascinating. After one or two laps, he’s already reached top speed and works extremely meticulously. You can feel how immense his passion for racing is.

“There are countless GT3 teams. It was a great honor to be asked [to work with him]. Even if, at the beginning, we didn’t really know what was behind this request.

Max Verstappen won 19 of the 22 grands prix on offer in 2023

“He makes a very tangible contribution to our being faster. Also, because it adapts very well to what Thierry needs. Of course, Thierry is Max’s friend, but Max wants to see performance. As a coach, he gives him strict and clear directives.”

Verstappen starts his quest for a fourth consecutive Formula 1 world championship from the end of this month at the Bahrain Grand Prix, from 29 February – 2 March.

If his RB20 turns out to be as dominant as last year’s car, the rest of the grid could be in for another testing and unexciting season.

Ben Whittaker’s latest ring victory was anything but ordinary. Known for his flair, he turned the match into a spectacle. Whittaker’s antics included a 360-degree spin and a dance that could rival Michael Jackson’s. Such showmanship in boxing isn’t new, but Whittaker pushes boundaries.

Some say it’s refreshing; others call it disrespect. Amidst this divide, names like Shakur Stevenson and Claressa Shields weigh in. What could these boxing luminaries possibly say? To say the least, they are fans. Is Whittaker’s approach a breath of fresh air or a breach of sportive decorum?

Shakur Stevenson has a reply for the haters!

Moreover, Claressa Shields, shared her enthusiasm for Whittaker’s performance. She posted a reel of the fight’s highlights on her social media, accompanied by the caption “Insane🤣🤣🤣.” Shields’ reaction.

Together, these interactions underscore a significant shift in how boxing’s entertainment aspect is perceived by some of its most accomplished practitioners. They signal a growing acceptance of Whittaker’s flamboyant style as a legitimate expression of “craft” within the boxing world. But what are Ben’s plans for this year?

From ring return to household stardom

Fresh off an Olympic silver medal win, Whittaker is eager to leave behind any setbacks caused by injuries, eyeing an action-packed 2024. “My plan for this year is to build my profile and become a household name,” he confidently shared with BoxingScene.com. With a strategy to engage in at least five fights and potentially secure a title, his aspirations don’t just stop at frequent bouts.

Whittaker is also keen on making a mark against notable names, including fellow Brits Joshua Buatsi and Dan Azeez. “Skillswise, I can beat both of them,” Whittaker asserts, underlining his readiness to challenge and surpass the established talents in his division.

Will his blend of skill, ambition, and strategic planning propel him to the top of the boxing world? Only time will tell.

The Alpine Skiing World is a marvelous haven where grit meets precision. Every second matters when athletes hurtle down the snow-covered slopes at speeds nearing 80 miles per hour. In this world, despite being a retired athlete, Lindsey Vonn continues to be an iconic name. Amid the 2023–24 Alpine Skiing season, Lindsey Vonn has been enjoying her rides down snowy slopes. But as she enjoys her time on the snow, an alarming streak of injuries has plagued the current skiing season.

The World Cup record holder, Mikaela Shiffrin, was another recent name who landed in the hospital as well. The alarming trend prompted Lindsey Vonn to issue an important statement.

Lindsey Vonn becomes a voice for injured athletes
In a post on X by a handle called Holly Reed, she pointed out the list of grievous injuries that have taken out top athletes this season. The list included names like Mikaela Shiffrin, Petra Vlhová, Sofia Goggia, Erik Arvidsson, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, and 18 others. Reposting this update, Lindsey Vonn shared that in the world of ski racing, changes were implemented in an attempt to make the sport safer. Alterations to the skis were made to slow down athletes, but unfortunately, this tactic backfired. Vonn said, “It only cost the ski companies millions and almost ruined the industry. Skiers will always find a way to go fast and inevitably there will also always be injuries.”

Consequently, injuries continued to occur, affecting even the top stars of the sport. Lindsey Vonn and the athletes are seeking innovative solutions to enhance slope safety. Lindsey also shared that “I’d love to stop seeing all my friends end up in the hospital like me!” as she hopes to strive to make skiing safer and more enjoyable for everyone involved. How Mikaela Shiffrin landed into the hospital
Mikaela Shiffrin is on her 100-win run this season. As of January 21, 2024, Mikaela Shiffrin had 95 World Cup victories. However, this winning streak was cut short when, on January 26, Mikaela Shiffrin had an accident when she landed after a jump at the downhill race in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. She couldn’t control herself and ended up crashing into a safety net. It was a scary moment because she stayed down for a few minutes, and they even had to send a helicopter to help her.

Later, Miki shared with her supporters that she was okay and thanked her fans for their well wishes. Currently, Mikaela Shiffrin and her boyfriend, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, who also suffered a bad crash, are spending their time together and undergoing physical therapy together. As the season progresses, fans hold out hope for improved safety measures to ensure the swift return of their favorite stars to action.
