Spiranac posted a picture of herself on her bed while wearing a blue bikini top with Michigan’s logo printed on the right side.

‘Excited for the big game tonight,’ she captioned. ‘Who do you have winning? Michigan or Washington?’

Spiranac, a San Diego State alum, has long been a college sports fan and does not hesitate to show her support for various schools.

According to her Instagram bio, Spiranac is the ‘Number 1 Purdue fan’. Meanwhile, during last year’s college football championship game, she posted a similar picture in support of the TCU Horned Frogs.

Spiranac shared a photo of herself sporting a short white crop top with ‘TCU’ printed in purple on the chest.

Unfortunately, the Horned Frogs were steamrolled by the Bulldogs 65-7. The 58-point difference was the largest deficit in a college football championship game.

Washington entered Monday’s game with a perfect 14-0 record and a Sugar Bowl win over Texas.

Michigan was also flawless coming into the game after a Rose Bowl win over Alabama.

Last year was an interesting one for Lexi Thompson. In her first 10 events of 2023, Thompson missed eight cuts, including a stretch of five straight from the U.S. Women’s Open to the Portland Classic.

But something clicked after leaving the Pacific Northwest.

Thompson finished T-19 (Kroger Queen City Championship), T-8 (Walmart NW Arkansas Championship), 5th (The Ascendant LPGA) and T-7 (The Annika) over her final four official LPGA starts of the year. At the Solheim Cup, Thompson compiled a 3-1-0 record. She also teamed with Rickie Fowler at the inaugural Grant Thornton Invitational in December and tied for sixth.

Well, after a successful end to 2023, Thompson has hired a new full-time caddie for the upcoming ’24 season.

Colton Heisey, who was on the bag for Thompson’s last three LPGA starts, will now be looping for the American star full-time.

“I’m super grateful for the opportunity to work with one of the best to ever do it,” Heisey wrote in a post to social media.

Isaac Cruz has given up on his years-long pursuit of a rematch with Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, For now.

The popular lightweight from Mexico City has a new target in his sights. Actually an old one, as Cruz hopes to unearth past business with Ryan Garcia.

“I am no longer waiting on Gervonta Davis/Abdul Wahid (Davis’ chosen Muslim name),” Cruz told BoxingScene.com in a quote provided through Manny Pacquiao’s MP Promotions. “Ryan Garcia has been calling us out for the last few fights. That’s the fight I want and what my promoter wants for me. Call your attorney, Guadalupe Valencia and quit running, poodle.”

Cruz (25-2-1, 17KOs) has won three straight since his narrow points loss to Baltimore’s Davis (29-0, 27KOs) in a December 2021 WBA ‘Regular’ lightweight title fight he accepted on five weeks’ notice. The 25-year-old contender has applied heavy pressure on a second bout versus Davis, with the benefit of a full training camp for both in preparation for each other.

The cries fell on deaf ears, even though both are under the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) umbrella and Cruz has risen to the top of the WBA lightweight rankings.

Cruz now turns to Garcia (24-1, 20KOs), who rebounded from an April 22 knockout loss to Davis with an eight-round knockout of Mexico’s Oscar Duarte last December 2 in Houston, Texas.

Garcia has since publicly called for—in order—a shot at WBA junior welterweight titleholder Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero (15-1, 13KOs), a high-profile showdown versus unbeaten two-division champ Devin Haney (31-0, 15KOs), and back to Romero, whom he hopes to face this spring.

A fight between Garcia and Cruz was previously ordered by the WBC in 2022 as a planned title eliminator. Garcia and Golden Boy Promotions publicly expressed interest in the fight. Cruz was unavailable at the time as was already committed to a fight versus Eduardo ‘Zurdito’ Ramirez.

Gervonta Davis Knockouts: Big Fight Weekend Look at the Top 5

With both free at the moment, Cruz believes there is no time like the present to pick up where they left off a couple of years ago.

“Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz was unavailable for various reason,” Sean Gibbons, Cruz’s rep and hype man, told Boxing Scene. “But the time is now. Pitbull has accepted Ryan Garcia’s challenge. This is the fight we want for Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz, no question. So, what’s your excuse now, Ryan?”

Joshua was set for a two-fight deal against longtime rival Wilder but the American scuppered the plans when he shockingly lost to Parker last month

Anthony Joshua lost focus after Deontay Wilder scuppered plans of their $100million two-fight deal by losing to Joseph Parke.

Former two-time heavyweight champion Joshua was expected to fight Wilder after his win against Otto Wallin last month, but the American suffered a shocking defeat to Parker at the same event. Former UFC champion Francis Ngannou has now replaced Wilder in the heavyweight equation as he fights Joshua on March 8 in Saudi Arabia.

‘AJ’ enjoyed a well-deserved holiday after his win against Wallin but had to cut it short and fly back to the UK after his fight announcement with Ngannou. Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn, who promotes Joshua, has admitted the Brit switched off for a brief period when his fight with Wilder fell apart.

“AJ didn’t need a lot of convincing for the Ngannou fight, he is on a roll at the moment,” Hearn said on The MMA Hour. “He feels good after the Wallin fight. I think after Wilder lost, he kind of switched off for a week or 10 days. He had to cut his holiday short a few days ago to fly back and start camp.”

“He was going to do that anyway for Wilder, but I think when Wilder lost he maybe just switched off a little bit so he needed to switch back on. In Ngannou’s mind, this is the toughest fight of his career. Francis is a very dangerous man and they will be training with every ounce of their soul to be victorious.”

Joshua wants to beat Ngannou to set up a fight against the winner of Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight world titles. ‘AJ’ has changed his tune on facing Ngannou having previously dismissed the “gimmicky” fight whilst discussing Ngannou’s crossover bout with Fury.

“It’s not a great look losing to Francis Ngannou and he’s going to do everything he can to avoid that. It’s never anything we anticipated because we presumed we were fighting Wilder in March. The only time I talked about Ngannou was after the Fury fight, but we didn’t get anywhere,” Hearn added.

Terence Crawford had a ton to get off his chest. After taking home every major world title at 147 pounds, the 36-year-old has a bunch of time on his hands. He might be currently enjoying his vacation but he’s been paying attention to some of the brazen words of Teofimo Lopez.

The current WBO and Ring Magazine champ at 140 pounds recently made it known that he wants a matchup with Crawford next. Being called out is something that the pound-for-pound star is accustomed to but Lopez didn’t merely leave it at that. He went on a rant claiming that Crawford’s entire welterweight run was fool’s gold and the fighters he beat along the way were essentially shot.

Controversy and trash talk is something that Crawford specializes in. At one point, both fighters were under the promotional thumb of Top Rank. On numerous occasions, they’ve shared the same room and appeared pretty cordial with one another. So why is Lopez taking the time to shred Crawford’s resume? While Crawford isn’t sure, he recently fired back.

Terence Crawford after Spence win: I'm pound-for-pound No 1 'without a doubt' | Terence Crawford | The Guardian

“Teofimo Lopez, your little b!tch ass better worry about them little guys that’s on yo ass down there in yo weight class,” wrote Crawford on his social media account. “It’s crazy. Every time I see yo hoe ass, you don’t even look my way, but when you in front of a camera, you got so much to say. You a p-ssy.”

It’s all fun and games with a dash of violence and disrespect but Crawford doesn’t want to be a distraction. In just under a month, Lopez will jump into the ring with Jamaine Ortiz.

There’s a reason why Crawford has given everyone he’s fought a beatdown. Well, obviously his skills are through the roof but also, he never allows anyone to rip away his focus.

Going back-and-forth can be fun but before Lopez flips Crawford the middle finger and throws more shade in his direction, he should probably pay attention to the man that will attempt to take his head off on February 8th.

“Hey Teofimo Lopez, naw real sh!t, good luck in yo fight. Focus on him because he can fight and I don’t want you to look bad worrying about me when you got other problems on yo hands.”

Lindsey Vonn, 39, started her week off with a satisfying sweat sesh. On Monday night, the retired Olympic skier posted an Instagram video of her lower body workout routine, and it was filled with killer leg exercises.

Lindsey gave her followers a preview of her exact workout routine in a quick Reel that showed each movement. The Olympic gold medalist started her workout with single leg jumps to activate her glutes, hamstrings, and quads, before diving into some reverse barbell lunges to work her glutes, as well as her core stability and hip mobility. She continued with kettlebell swings, a full-body movement to get her heart rate going while also working her upper body, core, and lower body.

Next, Lindsey crushed some hex bar squats, which increase quad and back strength, before completing kettlebell lunges to further work her quads and single-leg strength. She ended her sweaty workout with some cardio on a stationary bike. Phew!

While Lindsey was focused on her intense workout, her pup, Lucy, was cheering her on in the background

“Last night’s workout session to start the week off right 💪🏻 Had a furry partner with me to check my form lol 🐶 thx Lucy ❤️@vonndogs,” Lindsey wrote in the caption.

Naturally, Lucy wasn’t the only one supporting the Olympian’s efforts—Lindsey’s fans cheered her on in the comments. “💪 hardest worker in the room!,” one person wrote, while another said, “Keep going 💪👏.” Personal trainer Gunnar Peterson was impressed with Lucy’s assistance, saying, “Please let Lucy know I’m hiring. @lindseyvonn.”

Unsurprisingly, the alpine ski racer takes fitness very seriously, and she shares her workouts to her Instagram often. You’ll see her crushing a full-body Christmas Eve workout with weighted squats and lunges, hitting the slopes, finding a gym while she’s on the road, and even playing a pre-Thanksgiving dinner tennis match.

Even her New Year goals are centered around her physical health. On January 4, she posted a video of a full-body workout with the caption:

“Why hello 2024… LFG 💪🏻 Goals this year =
1) deeper squats and better range of motion
2) better absorption
3) core strength improvement
4) better mobility
5) bigger cardio capacity + endurance strength

It’s a lot considering my knee but the last two surgeries went really well so let’s see what I can do! 🤞🏻💪🏻.”

While Lindsey loves a difficult workout, she exercises for the sake of her mental health. “I’ve always found a lot of mental strength and confidence through working out, especially since I’ve retired from skiing,” she told Women’s Health in 2021.

Lindsey will also never turn down a challenge. “I just like pushing myself,” she shared with WH. “I like feeling strong, and when I feel physically strong, I feel so much more mentally strong. When I work out, I feel like I’m healthier and more confident. I’ve achieved something, no matter how small.”

When it comes to her diet, Lindsey likes to start her day with blueberries and a sugar-free Red Bull before chowing down on some scrambled eggs, she told WH. Her lunch and dinner are packed with protein, and she’ll switch between yummy meals like chicken with kale, salmon, and zucchini pasta with bolognese meat sauce, per WH.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes Novak Djokovic has earned the right to be recognised as one of the greatest athletes of all-time, but he admits he got more joy watching Roger Federer in action.

TNT Sports pundit Rio Ferdinand talks to Tennis365

Djokovic will aim to win a 25th Grand Slam title and an 11th at the Australian Open when the Melbourne tournament gets underway on Sunday, with his status as the ultimate champion in tennis assured after he moved clear of of his rivals in the race to finish his career with the most major titles.

The longevity of his dominance at the top of men’s tennis has led many observers to suggest Djokovic may be remembered as one of the greatest athletes in sporting history, with Ferdinand suggesting the dedication he has shown has put him in that elite list.

“I think he’s got to be up there with the best of all-time in sport,” TNT Sports football pundit Ferdinand to Tennis365, speaking ahead of Eurosport and discovery+’s live coverage of the Australian Open.

“Physically, he has to be the best. You see reports about the detail he goes into with his nutrition and his diets and he has to be right up there with the best athletes ever.

Novak Djokovic stuns press conference by answering in Chinese

“These guys play for five hours. We played for 90 minutes and we were dead! It’s hard. I’ve tried tennis and it’s hard man!

“You look at some great boxers and other athletes down the years and it’s hard to say who is the best of all-time, but he is certainly in my top five.

“When you see how meticulous he is, there have not been too many better.

“We’ve had some great athletes down the years, but I’d certainly put Djokovic in the top five of all-time, for sure.”

Novak Djokovic - Player Profile - Tennis - Eurosport

Djokovic’s success in remaining the leading player in men’s tennis at the age of 36 has ensured he has eclipsed Federer and Rafael Nadal in the race to claim the most significant records in the history of the men’s game.

With Nadal’s ongoing injury issues and Federer long since retired, Djokovic appears to be well-placed to extend his advantage in the Grand Slam title list.

He has also been world No 1 for longer than Federer and Nadal and has a winning record against both of his great rivals.

Statistically, the debate over who will be etched into the record books as the GOAT of tennis appears to be over, but the discussion over who will be remembered as the ultimate hero of the sport rumbles on.

Now Ferdinand has entered the never-ending tenning debate over who will leave the biggest legacy in the sport and he admitted he got more enjoyment watching the graceful 20-time Grand Slam king Federer play than he does watching the more clinical and ruthless Djokovic.

He also reflected on a meeting with Federer and suggested it was one of the highlights of his career working in broadcasting.

When asked who he enjoyed watching more than any other player on a tennis court, the former England defender had no hesitation in offering up a quick answer.

Why Wimbledon favorite Novak Djokovic's reputation doesn't match his tennis - Los Angeles Times

“It has to be Federer, To see the way Federer slapped that backhand away when it was firing was a thing of beauty,” he added.

“Another thing about him that no one else has ever done in tennis is make me look at the outfit he was wearing when he walked out on the Centre Court.

“That clean white outfit and the Rolex watch. I used to look at him and think this guy is different level.

“I actually interviewed Federer once. The day after he broke the record for winning the most titles at Wimbledon.

“Nike rented out a house in Wimbledon and I went there to interview him and it was one of the best moments I have had. I remember I was nervous.”

Owens defended his claim on a Vanity Fair exclusive where Biles is on the cover

In a recent Vanity Fair cover story, Jonathan Owens, husband of gymnastics legend Simone Biles, addressed the persistent disbelief surrounding his claim that he had “no clue” who Biles was when they first connected on the exclusive dating app Raya.

Owens claims he didn’t follow gymnastics
Owens insists that, at the time they met on the app, he was focused on a training camp at his alma mater, Missouri Western State University, and was oblivious to the Rio de Janeiro Olympics where Biles achieved iconic success.

“I never once was like, ‘Oh, let me check gymnastics out,'” he explained.

Owens quickly caught up on Biles’ achievements when he found her on Instagram.

“I was like, ‘Man, she got a lot of followers; she must be pretty good,'” he told Vanity Fair.

The NFL safety faced skepticism when he previously claimed ignorance during a joint podcast appearance with Biles in December.

Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles got married in April 2023

“When she won the Olympics, I was in college, and we didn’t have NBC… So I’m not paying attention,” he said on The Pivot podcast.

Owens & Biles connected during the pandemic
The couple, whose relationship blossomed during the COVID-19 pandemic, spent quarantine getting to know each other.

They shared moments of laughter, sangria, movies, and games.

Owens reminisced about the early days, saying, “I just noticed her laugh. It was just contagious.”

Owens’ confidence, highlighted by his claim that he was “the catch” in their relationship, stirred controversy on social media.

“I always say that the men are the catch,” Owens said, after he was asked if he considered himself the “catch” in his relationship with Biles.

Grilled on “How in the hell did you pull Simone Biles?”, Owens said on the podcast “It’s really how she pulled me, man, that’s the question.”

Despite the public scrutiny, Owens and Biles remain steadfast in their love.

As Biles shared a wedding-day photo on her Instagram with the caption “Mood,” she addressed critics with a post on X, saying, “Are y’all done yet?”

Floyd Mayweather is no longer ranked as the greatest pound for pound boxer of all time – and Mike Tyson does not even make the top 10 list.

The 46-year-old, with his perfect 50-0 record, was ranked the best to ever step inside the squared circle by Box Rec, the go-to site for all boxing stats and information, when the list was published back in 2020.

Boxing: Is Floyd Mayweather running out of money? | Marca

Mayweather’s last official fight was a 10th round TKO victory over UFC star Conor McGregor in August 2017 and won 27 of his bouts by knockout.

But Mayweather is now number two on the list and has lost top spot to a fighter whose career spanned 25 years and began in 1940 and involved a remarkable 201 bouts.

Sugar Ray Robinson is now top spot, with a record of 174 wins, 109 of which were by knockout and ranks him among the all-time leaders for knockouts.

The impressive record also includes six draws, two no-contests, and only 19 losses, which is not bad going at all considering his career spanned 201 fights.

Robinson died at the age of 67 in 1989 from heart disease, with a career that began in 1940 and ended when he announced his retirement from boxing in November 1965.

Manny Pacquiao, one of Mayweather’s great rivals during his career, sits fourth on the list.

But there’s no place in the top 10 for the likes of Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Evander Holyfield, Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roy Jones Jr, Lennox Lewis, Rocky Marciano and Joe Calzaghe.

Tyson is possibly the biggest omission from the top 10 and one of the biggest names to not feature.

Tyson had a total of 58 professional boxing bouts between 1985 and 2005 in a career which spanned three decades and came to a conclusion as he approached his 39th birthday.

In that time, Tyson chalked up 50 wins and just six losses, with an astounding 44 victories on knockout as he demonstrated his stopping power in the ring.

And Ali’s career spanned a total of 61 bouts, with a remarkable 56 wins, 37 of which were knockouts, and just five losses.

The Greatest passed away in 2016 at the age of 74.

Mike Tyson gave a brilliant reply when asked who would win a heavyweight bought between him and Muhammad Ali.

There are a lot of questions to be answered in boxing’s heavyweight division going into 2024.

Is Anthony Joshua back to his best? Will Tyson Fury get the better of Oleksandr Usyk? Is Deontay Wilder finished? Of course, they are all queries likely to be settled by the end of next year.

However, we will never get an answer to boxing most curious and frequently asked hypothetical question: Who wins between a prime Tyson and a prime Ali?

Tyson reigned as the undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990, having won his first 19 professional fights by knockout, 12 of them in the first round.

He became the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles, as well as the only heavyweight to unify them in succession.

After being knocked out by underdog Buster Douglas in 1990 and undergoing prison time in 1992, Tyson engaged in a series of comeback fights, regaining the WBA and WBC titles in 1996.

Meanwhile, Ali held the Ring magazine heavyweight title from 1964 to 1970, was the undisputed champion from 1974 to 1978 and the WBA and Ring heavyweight champion from 1978 to 1979.

Ali’s dominance in the ring and activism outside it saw him named in 1999 as Sportsman of the Century by Sports Illustrated and the Sports Personality of the Century by the BBC.

While it’s impossible to truly know who would have won a bout between Ali and Tyson, the latter believes that he wouldn’t have stood a chance.

Speaking to ‘This is 50’ in 2012, Iron Mike insisted that no one could have beaten prime Ali.

He said: “There’s no man like him. Everything we have, he supersedes it.

“Nobody beats Ali, it’s not about the muscle memory it’s not about concentration it’s just about him doing it.

“I can’t beat that man, hell no f**k this (laughs).”
