Claressa Shields is back in the spotlight, fresh from her split decision MMA victory over Kelsey De Santis. Her triumph in Saudi Arabia wasn’t just another win; it was historic. Now she’s hinting at a major comeback to the boxing ring. But she’s keeping fans guessing with a cryptic tweet.

What’s next? A much-anticipated rematch with Savannah Marshall? Imagine the stakes. Meanwhile, Shields throws a curveball. She tweets about her return, yet details remain shrouded in mystery. Will her next challenge redefine her legacy?

Another Claressa Shields’ night incoming!

Claressa Shields, the undisputed female middleweight champion, recently stirred excitement with her tweet, “Still making money 🤣 I’ll be announcing my boxing match soon too 😂🤣🤩 Ready to turn the USA up again!” This announcement comes hot on the heels of her gritty split decision victory, marking a significant moment in her MMA career. In that intense bout, Shields showcased her resilience, narrowly escaping a tight armbar and fighting her way to a win, with the judges scoring the match 29-28, 28-29, and 29-28 in her favor.

Transitioning back to boxing, Shields hints at igniting the American sports scene once more. Her victory against De Santis was not just a testament to her fighting spirit but also a showed that her MMA career was far from over. Now, turning her focus back to boxing, she seems poised to reclaim her dominance in the ring.

People have been questioning her escape from the Armbar, and Claressa made sure to reply to them on her Twitter.

Shields’ bold take on the submission standoff

In the aftermath of her latest MMA bout, Claressa Shields took to Twitter to address the armbar escape that had fans on the edge of their seats. Her tweet was candid and unapologetic: “If I had the opportunity to break someone’s arm, I’d do it, ESPECIALLY if they didn’t tap! My opponent said she don’t break white belts arms 😂 like ma’am we are in a mma fight. Do what you gotta do. She tried with all her might, and couldn’t.”

https://x.com/Claressashields/status/1762634151574794582?s=20

This bold declaration reflects Shields’ fierce competitive spirit and her no-holds-barred approach to combat sports. Her readiness to push the limits in the ring underscores her warrior mentality, always fighting with relentless intensity and strategic savvy.

Who will dare to face the might of Claressa Shields in the ring? Her story is far from over, and the sports world watches, ready for the next chapter in her illustrious career. What do you think lies ahead for this unparalleled champion?

Fresh off her MMA victory over Kelsey DeSantis, Claressa Shields is not resting. Her combat spirit is unquenched. Shields, the boxing GWOAT, now eyes the boxing ring again. Past confrontations? They fuel her fire. Remember her sparring with Cris Cyborg? That intensity hasn’t faded.

Now, Shields throws down the gauntlet after verbal spats. Alycia Baumgardner, who is now cleared to get back in the ring, is in her sights. Will Baumgardner step up? Can she handle Shields’ prowess?

154 Pounds of fury from Claressa Shields
Claressa Shields took to Twitter with her trademark bravado after Alycia Baumgardner made a post that simply read, “Sign The Contract”, laying out bold challenges in no uncertain terms. Her first tweet thundered, “You got to come direct, who you telling the sign the contract? Y’all H03s ready to get smoked at 154, JUST LET ME KNOW, PUT IT ON THE FLO BIHH -Latto 🎶 #GWOAT #Claressashields #ShieldsBumgardner ????”

This fiery call-out wasn’t just a random taunt; it was a calculated dare aimed squarely at Alycia Baumgardner, newly cleared of her suspension and hungry to reaffirm her dominance in the boxing world. Just as she steps back into the limelight, free from the shadows of her suspension, Shields’ challenge beckons, offering a high-stakes showdown that could redefine both their careers.

Alycia Baumgardner, emerging fresh from her battle to clear her name from doping allegations, now faces a different kind of fight. The timing couldn’t be more perfect, or intense.

Meanwhile, Shields’ competitive flame burned just as fiercely towards MMA powerhouse Cris Cyborg. Merely minutes later, her second tweet escalated the challenge: “This H03 pressed too! Are you fighting me at 154 or not! #GWOAT #ShieldsSlowborg 😂” This wasn’t merely a tweet, she issued Cyborg the challenge with a screenshot showing that Cyborg blocked Shields on Twitter.

Shields also not so long ago revealed that she thrashed Cris Cyborg when they sparred.

Negotiations to knockouts
The high-stakes tension between Claressa Shields and Cris Cyborg teeters on the edge of becoming a monumental showdown. Shields recounted their past, detailing a sparring session where she dominated, stating, “When I fought against Cris Cyborg in 2018, I took it easy on her… The first and the second round, I beat the s**t out of Cris Cyborg.” Her confidence is palpable, dismissing Cyborg’s boxing skills with, “She cannot box… she can’t mess with me on the day I have a flu.”

This recount of their sparring match amplifies the anticipation, with Shields provocatively calling out, “@criscyborg when you want me to spank your a** again!?” Their previous encounters in the ring, laden with competitive fervor, set the stage for what could be a historic clash, transcending the boundaries of their respective sports.

As the world watches, the questions linger—will Baumgardner step into this high-stakes arena? Can Cyborg settle their unfinished business in the ring? Who do you think will rise to the challenge and face the indomitable Claressa Shields?

The glitz, glamour and tall tales of Las Vegas are like nothing else in boxing folklore. Saudi Arabia may be throwing mega money at blockbusting fights in 2024 but Sin City’s allure remains unmatched for the fight game.

Sandy Ryan

That draw of a neon wonderland steeped in boxing is part of what persuaded Britain’s WBO welterweight champion Sandy Ryan (6-1-1, 2 KOs) to turn her life upside down in pursuit of greatness, changing her training and management team and relocating to the Mojave Desert ahead of Saturday’s showdown with two-weight world champion Terri Harper.

Just don’t expect any of those tall tales.

“The training was good. I’ve been locked in, isolated myself and not seen much of Vegas,” Ryan told The Sporting News. “I’m not here to do that.”

Olympic boxing champion Claressa Shields defeats Tori Nelson

The 30-year-old was sporting a slight black eye from her endeavors at DLX Boxing when we spoke and she isn’t kidding when she talks about the sparring Stateside being of the highest level.

Since September’s controversial split decision draw against WBA and WBC champion Jessica McCaskill — a bout many observers felt Ryan won handily — she’s shared rounds with pound-for-pound superstar Claressa Shields.

“It’s great work,” she said. “I respect Claressa massively for what she’s done in the sport, so for me to get some work in with her, I appreciated it.

“We got some really great rounds in. I couldn’t ask for anything more.”

https://x.com/Claressashields/status/1757504359284322701?s=20

It’s not the first time Ryan has been the choice of gym opponent for the very best. Katie Taylor namechecked her sparring partner as a key ingredient in November’s revenge win over Chantelle Cameron for undisputed super lightweight glory. The WBO champ is now working with Taylor’s manager Brian Peters.

“They’re obviously completely different fighters but they’re both great in their own way,” Ryan said of Taylor and Shields, who are ranked No. 1 and No.2 on the Sporting News’ women’s P4P list. “They’re both very professional in their own way.

“I picked up a lot of things from both of them, which I’m grateful for. I believe I was a help to them also. It’s great as well because it shows where I belong. I’m up there sparring the greats. It’s where I want to get to, the pinnacle of the sport.”

That journey towards the summit continues this weekend against Harper (14-1-2, 6 KOs), another elite combatant Ryan has faced behind closed gym doors. The 27-year-old had her super featherweight reign ended by Alycia Baumgardner in November 2021 before leaping up four weight classes to dethrone Hannah Rankin the following year.

Despite those exploits, this fight being back down at 147 lbs arguably moves Harper back towards her more natural weight. The confidence of both fighters heading into the matchup has lent a spiky edge to the build-up.

https://x.com/MatchroomBoxing/status/1771166553322487990?s=20

“She knows who I am and what I’m bringing to the table. I’m looking forward to getting the best of Terri Harper,” Ryan proclaimed.

“I feel like she’s going to try and box me but if she wants to stand there and fight me, either way I don’t mind. I’m confident in both, whichever way the fight is going to end up. I’m going to be dictating, I’m confident what I bring to the table will be enough to defeat Terri Harper.”

Harper’s previous title defence up at super welterweight ended in a disputed draw with Cecilia Braekhus at the same Sheffield Arena where Saturday’s blows will be traded.

Outcomes such as that and Ryan’s deeply questionable draw with McCaskill have added weight to arguments that the elite female fighters should be able to compete over three-minute rounds, allowing their range of skills more time to shine and decisively claim an upper hand.

“I don’t mind, I can fight two minutes or three minutes,” Ryan said. “I train three and four minute rounds in the gym so I don’t mind going to three minutes, but it’s not my call. I’m just doing what I’m told to do.

“I also believe that if they did make it three minutes then they have to make the pay equal if they’re making the time equal.”

Ryan vs. Harper is the co-main event alongside undefeated Sheffield super lightweight Dalton Smith’s step-up test against Jose Zepeda. It’s not quite equal billing, but a rejuvenated and re-focused Ryan might just end up stealing the show with a performance worthy of the Las Vegas fight fraternity to which she now belongs.

Adrien Broner has ignited a social media firestorm by hurling vulgar insults towards undisputed super featherweight champion Alycia Baumgardner. This personal attack appears to be an escalation of an existing feud between Broner and Devin Haney‘s father Bill Haney.

This has even called for female undisputed champion Claressa Shields’ attention as she felt sorry for her friend-turned-rival. She talked about how her past shouldn’t have been spoken about and that Baumgardner has entangled with a man who has no filter.

Claressa Shields has a wholesome message
A potential future fight has been brewing between two American boxing champions, Claressa Shields and Alycia Baumgardner. Shields publicly taunted Baumgardner, promising a dominant victory if they ever meet in the ring. This challenge came despite Baumgardner’s current suspension stemming from an adverse finding in a drug test. Baumgardner maintains her innocence and claimed in November 2023 that independent testing exonerates her.

Since then, they’ve been going back-and-forth against each other, however the recent verbal altercation of Baumgardner with Broner had even the champion backpedal on her beef. Shields wrote, “I ain’t gone lie… I hate this for her. Only because she arguing with a person who has no filter…. I just hope he don’t post no footage. That’s not fair we all have a past and grow from that.”

This post came after Broner posted a video on Instagram talking about Baumgardner’s past relationships, in response to her Instagram Live with Bill Haney. Furthermore, to understand the context even better, it’s important to know the reason behind the debacle between Bill Haney and Adrien Broner.

Adrien Broner might replace Ryan Garcia
The upcoming super lightweight title fight between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia on April 20th is facing uncertainty. Concerns over Garcia’s recent behavior has prompted Haney’s team to explore alternatives. Adrien Broner, a former four-division world champion, has emerged as a potential replacement. Bill Haney sees Broner’s experience and name recognition as a safer option compared to a lesser-known fighter.

With time running out before the DAZN pay-per-view event, a decision on Garcia’s participation and a potential replacement will need to be made soon. So, Bill Haney called out Broner and said, “If it was going to be on 4/20, is you going to be there? Is he going to be there if it was on 4/20? Can we depend on you, AB, because they say the last guy [Ryan Garcia] went crazy. Since you left without the dough, and want to step up on 4/20. Let’s see if everybody else [Ryan] said they were going to do and didn’t.”

Furthermore, he continued, “I do respect you, AB, so, I won’t be blindsided by your decision. I don’t know who is going to be fighting on 4/20. I know Devin Haney is going to be there. He’s got the date.” After this, they both participated in trash-talking with each other, and Bill tried to convince Broner to fight his son. What are your thoughts about this? Since Francis Ngannou went the distance of 10 rounds against Tyson Fury in his debut match last year, many expected ‘The Predator’ to deliver yet another spectacular performance against Anthony Joshua. Meanwhile, calling himself “the underground king,” Ngannou even declared he would knock out ‘AJ’ with a clean shot. However, Joshua, labeling Ngannou as his “main focus,” considered the fight his “everything“.

Similarly, ‘AJ’ fought the fight, living up to his and his coach, Ben Davidson‘s expectations. In only the second round of the match, Anthony Joshua put Francis Ngannou to sleep. On that note, following the event, several professional boxers took to social media and lauded Joshua’s boxing.

Claressa Shields, Devin Haney, Nico Ali Walsh, and others praise Anthony Joshua’s stunning treatment of Francis Ngannou

After the bell rang, Anthony Joshua, despite being patient, did not waste his time. He kept Ngannnou, who hopes to have a rematch with Fury, surprised and guessing for as long as the duo fought. In the first round of the fight, after Ngannou shifted to the southpaw stance, Joshua measured the range and hit the former with a fast right hand to score the first knockdown of the fight. In the second round, with less than a minute left, ‘AJ’ knocked ‘The Predator’ down for the second time. And right after Ngannou stood up on his feet, Joshua landed a solid cross on Ngannou’s chin, which saw the latter’s soul leave the body.

Reacting to Joshua’s win, the grandson of Muhammad Ali, Nico Ali Walsh, said, “Really hope Francis is okay. No surprise by Joshua…”

On the other hand, Claressa Shields said, “Wow, boxing wins again.” However, she also appreciated Francis Ngannou’s efforts.

Meanwhile, KSI wrote, “What a KO Anthony Joshua. YOU ARE HIM!”

In a similar tone, Sunny Edwards, said, “That’s a bad knockout.”

According to Stephen Espinoza, the result of Fury vs. Ngannou “said more about Fury than Ngannou.” In his opinion, it is not that Ngannou is an extraordinary boxer but, Fury did not fight ‘The Predator’ like he should have had in 2023.

Finally, Devin Haney extended his congratulations to Joshua’s coach, Ben Davidson.

With that said, what do you have to say about Anthony Joshua’s KO win over Francis Ngannou? Do you think the cross he landed on Francis was impressive? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below. For more boxing updates,

In the boxing world, eyes are on Ryan Garcia as he preps for Devin Haney. Their fight is slated for April 20th, stirring anticipation. Recently, Garcia’s behavior has sparked discussions. His social media is a mix of erratic and intriguing posts. A notable clip showed him shadowboxing in slow motion.

Derrick James, his trainer, watched, visibly annoyed by the spectacle. This wasn’t typical training footage. Yet, Claressa Shields saw potential in Garcia’s mitt-hitting session. The champion boxer shared the clip, signaling approval. Her recognition shifts the narrative, suggesting Garcia is more focused than perceived.

Ryan Garcia recently took to social media, flashing speed in a compelling mitt workout video. He captioned the post with a blend of humor and self-awareness, stating, “Nothing to see here 👀👀👀 I’m crazy remember 😆😆😆 A lunatic that boxes oh shoot watch out 🤜 Who knows what this manic may do 😅.” This post emerges amidst the boxer’s series of enigmatic and controversial social media activities, sparking widespread speculation about his state of mind and readiness for the upcoming bout.

In response, Claressa Shields, the GWOAT, shared Garcia’s clip on her story, offering her stamp of approval. She wrote, “Now this actually looks good,” tagging Ryan, thereby aligning her credibility with his displayed skills. Her endorsement serves as a significant morale booster.

Subtly suggesting that behind Garcia’s erratic public persona lies a focused athlete who is seriously honing his craft for the high-stakes clash against Devin Haney. Although Ryan looks good in this clip, he still has things going on with him outside the ring.

Ryan Garcia claims that his ’emotional clip’ was shortened to make it look different
Ryan Garcia recently addressed the misconceptions surrounding a particularly emotional clip circulating online. On his X account, he clarified the tears shed were an expression of his deep religious fervor, not mental health concerns. “Praise Jesus, those who know the Holy Spirit will make a grown man cry. You shortened the video I was worshipping God on my TikTok live with my community,” Garcia expressed, emphasizing the spiritual context misunderstood by many.

He criticized the misleading portrayal, stating, “I love God and you titled this as if I was crying due to mental instability. I find it distasteful, and disrespectful to my beliefs. But again, get your clicks and views. See you 4/20.” The Victorville native called out famed journalist Michael Benson for posting the clip to gain views. This statement also reflects Garcia’s attempt to set the record straight, reinforcing his connection to his faith over unfounded speculations.

As Garcia continues to fight the demons, what’s more important is the upcoming Brooklyn fight between the former undisputed lightweight champion and the current WBC Super Lightweight Champion. Will this blend of vulnerability and strength propel ‘King’ to new heights? Garcia’s fight against ‘The Dream’ goes down to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Claressa Shields is about to enter the octagon for the third time today in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Having dominated the female boxing world, the undisputed queen will go toe-to-toe with Kelsey DeSantis. However, before her comeback following two years of absence, she hopped on social media today to convey a message for her devoted fan base!

The event in Saudi is a concoction of PFL and Bellator fighters, who will fight each other in the stacked card tonight. ‘The Goat’ Shields will fight from PFL’s corner after she signed a multi-fight deal with them in August 2023. So, the only question left unanswered is, what did ‘T-Rex’ Shields have to say to her followers?

Claressa Shield is the first woman to…
Turning to Instagram earlier today, the undefeated boxer claimed she was extremely excited about her fight tonight in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Shields claimed to be the first woman to fight in an MMA setting on Saudi Arabian soil. “Fight Day. [I am] Super excited to work toward the bigger picture! The first woman to fight MMA in Saudi Arabia happens today,” wrote Shield with hours left in her fight.

Meanwhile, her opponent, DeSantis, also had a lot to say about her clash with Shields. In a recent pinch, DeSantis appeared in an interview with Zenger News. When asked about her training camp for the upcoming fight and what Saudi Arabia has been like for her, she expressed her excitement. “It’s been great. It’s been a great camp, and I’m looking forward to a great fight,” said Santis. Meanwhile, she did not refrain from speaking about her preparation for the Shields fight.

Kelsey DeSantis on Shields’ overall progress in MMA
During the same interview, the reporter asked DeSantis about her thoughts on Shields’s time away from the octagon and whether she thinks it would have affected her performance. DeSantis, who is coming off a TKO win over Kathleen Nelson, claimed Shields could have learned a lot, but it takes more than two years to master it.

“Personally, I think you can put in work in a year or two, but when it comes to all of the elements of MMA, the ground game, and whatnot, I don’t think it takes around 5 to 10 years to progress,” said DeSantis. Later, when asked about her strategy for Claressa Shield, Kelsey DeSantis satiated, “I have definitely pulled together some strategies specifically for this fight.”

With mere hours left in their clash, both fighters have expressed their excitement about the night of punches, kicks, and what people are wishing could be an all-out brawl. However, only time can tell whether Claressa ‘T-Rex’ Shields can get a step closer to her championship goal in PFL. Do you think Shields will conquer MMA like boxing?

FLINT, Mich.— She did it again!

Claressa Shields talks during a press conference for her fight against Hanna Gabriels of Costa Rica on April 18, 2023 in Detroit, Michigan. Shields and Gabriels attended to promote their June 3, 2023 fight at Little Caesars Arena.

Last weekend she won her 3rd MMA fight in Saudia Arabia.

The GWOAT will be celebrating her victory tonight at Poprox located on 2nd Street in Flint from 9p.m. to 2 a.m..

Shields will be available for photos and autographs at the celebration.

Ahead of the bout scheduled for April 20th, at the press conference in New York, Ryan Garcia made a spectacle, bantering with Devin Haney. Besides boldly expressing that he desired to stop the WBC Super-Lightweight champion with only his “right hand“, ‘KingRy’ promised to retire professionally given he was knocked out by ‘The Dream’ in the very first round of their fight. But, the boxing world raised an eyebrow when Haney alleged that Garcia arrived drunk at their press conference.

Infuriated by Devin’s allegation, Garcia claimed he would “drink beer” and still “beat the f**k out of” Haney. Soon, the situation was aggravated when Garcia later smoked w**d live on social media, claiming he was “high as f**k“. At this, while the boxing community questioned Garcia’s integrity, Claressa Shields, the undisputed Middleweight champion, reacted to Garcia’s antics.

Claressa Shields finds Ryan Garcia’s trash talk superfluous
At the New York press conference, Devin Haney claimed Garcia lacked the IQ, skills, and heart required to face ‘The Dream’. In addition to that, Haney referred to Garcia’s fight with Gervonta Davis. In the 7th round of their fight, Davis hit Garcia with a powerful body shot which led ‘KingRy’ to quit. Therefore, Haney said, “We’ve seen you take a knee, and it won’t be no different. When it gets hot, you quit.” However, Garcia claimed he would beat Haney up intoxicated.

At this, reacting to Garcia’s comments, Claressa Shields wrote, “Y’all i can’t breathe! Ryan said he drink & smoke weed!!!! this is the craziest press conference I’ve ever seen!” Anyway, even though Shields found Garcia’s banter with Haney entertaining, she thought Garcia was being over the top. Likewise, in a follow-up, Shields said, “I think the trash talk is too much for Ryan Garcia.”

In this context, it is worth mentioning that Shields is not the only person who feels Garcia crossed a line. In his latest interview with Fight Hub TV, even Caleb Plant implied that ‘KingRy’ was being carried away by his emotion. However, Garcia is scarcely bothered by Plant or Shields’ comments. As a result, the 25-year-old rode a horse to the LA press conference today to startle his fans more. Anyway, what do you make of Claressa’s reaction to Garcia’s trash talk? Do you find Garcia’s statements over the top too? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
