When will Gervonta Davis come back to the ring? The Baltimore resident last appeared in the ring in April earlier this year against Ryan Garcia. While ‘Tank’ dominantly won the fight, tragedy struck as he was sentenced to 90 days in prison for a minor offense. Since then, the boxing community has been awaiting Davis’ return. While his return date is up in the air, Oscar De La Hoya proposed the next few steps that the WBA (Regular) lightweight champion should take.

While appearing in a recent interview with Fight Hub TV, Garcia’s promoter spoke highly about the 29-year-old. It’s worth mentioning that Davis is currently involved in a back-and-forth with Devin Haney, but it’s not worth putting one’s money on. So, as the wait continues, Oscar De La Hoya details what Davis needs to do next.

Oscar De La Hoya claims Gervonta Davis should fight the best
While speaking to Fight Hub TV, ‘Golden Boy’ claimed ‘Tank’ should fight a title holder and potentially try to unify all the belts in his division. “I think Tank now has to go after a world champion, you know, and maybe…he has to unify. Maybe Tank, yeah, and unification would be great,” said De La Hoya. He went on to suggest that his opponents have to be the best in the sport while claiming Davis has what it takes to defeat them.

“But obviously fighting the top dogs, you know, the best of the best, and it’s in him. I mean, Tank Davis is…a beast, man. He’s an amazing fighter,” said De La Hoya. The former champion concluded his suggestion by adding that Davis is an amazing fighter and would want to fight the best. While Oscar suggested Davis should try to unify the titles in the division, Teofimo Lopez named the only boxer who could beat Davis.

Teofimo Lopez claims Ryan Garcia is not an A+ boxer
When a boxer is unbeaten, it’s obvious for people to speculate who can potentially beat the fighter. The same goes for the formidable Gervonta Davis, considered the face of boxing right now. While appearing in a recent episode of Jaxxon Podcast, ‘The Takeover’ Lopez revealed the only boxer who stands a chance against ‘Tank’ Davis.

“The only one that gives him a challenge is Shakur. Shakur Stevenson will give him a challenge. Because Shakur is technical where you gotta really little bit think more. Tank has been fighting C to B class fighters. Ryan is an A+ on media, on the internet, but not as a boxer, we all know this,” said Lopez. While even Shakur Stevenson has expressed a desire to fight Tank in the past, it’s unlikely to happen anytime soon.

Gervonta posted the video on his Instagram stories

The boxer Gervonta Davis has not had an official fight for months, in his last fight he defeated Ryan Garcia in April. Davis delivered a good blow to the liver of ‘KingRy’ that left him with a knee on the canvas without being able to get up.

Davis, the rising star in the boxing world, has been attracting the attention of his rivals who are eager to challenge him.

Gervonta posted a video on his Instagram stories where the boxer is seen performing sparring with good rhythm and intensity while giving some screams of strength. A few seconds later he knocks out his opponent.

A few months ago Gervonta was asked who could beat him, if opponents like Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson , Davis confidently stated, “The only person who could beat me is Gervonta Davis. Those others can’t touch me at all.”

Ryan Garcia is looking for a rematch, arguing that when they faced each other, he was not at his best. In an interview with Fight Hub TV, ‘KingRy’ said he is better than Gervonta and will do whatever it takes to get a rematch.

In September, Gervonta said he would not fight for the remainder of 2023 and would concentrate on personal matters.

It should be recalled that the boxer is involved in a legal matter related to a hit-and-run incident that occurred in May 2021. And although he was not initially expected to serve time in prison, he ended up spending most of his 90-day sentence in jail.

On the eve of Ryan Garcia’s triumphant return to the boxing ring, Gervonta Davis injected an air of mystery into the atmosphere with a cryptic Instagram post.

Garcia, who secured a knockout victory over Oscar Duarte in the eighth round, marked his comeback after a setback against Tank in April. Despite facing challenges during the bout, the 25-year-old American emerged victorious with a decisive knockout.

As the fight unfolded, Davis, Garcia’s former adversary, took to social media, sharing two pictures accompanied by captions that were derogatory towards Garcia.

What did Gervonta Davis post?
The initial image showcased Davis’ Ferrari, while the subsequent one depicted Garcia wincing in agony from the body shot that led to his defeat in April. The caption drew from the lyrics of British rapper Dave’s verse in Trojan Horse.

“Antisocial, I’m a loner… let’s not talk bout makin a Mil, this year I average 100 ms in a month… had a vision of running it up, and it’s working well like rum in a punch,” Davis posted.

The post left fans perplexed, prompting questions about its meaning. One fan expressed confusion.

“What does that even mean?” were the words of one fan.

“I don’t understand that type of talk,” another stated.

Various theories circulated about the post’s significance, but the prevailing belief was that Davis intended to troll Garcia. Fans reacted with a mix of amusement and disapproval.

“You’re cold for the second pic during the man’s fight,” joked one fan.

Another labeled Davis as a troll, while a third speculated that the second picture held a personal significance. Amidst the diverse interpretations, a consensus emerged that Davis, in his own unique way, aimed to emphasize the victory with the inclusion of the second picture.
