Tiger Woods has some new-look gear in his bag at the Hero World Challenge this week (you can read more about it from our Jonathan Wall here). But aside from clubs and shafts, a few of Tiger’s latest accessories also caught our eye.

Let’s talk about Tiger wearing FootJoys, his Costa dad-glasses moment and his signature plush tiger headcover (always a classic).

What’s on Tiger’s feet?
Woods is back in FootJoys, which is a sight to which golf fans have grown accustomed in recent Woods starts. What happened with Nike? No one’s saying. We’re still in wait-and-see-mode.

Woods has worn Nikes since signing with the footwear behemoth after his pro debut in 1996 and Nike is still selling Tiger Woods golf shoes. But now — with ankle issues stemming from his car crash and surgery, among other issues with his knee — Woods is prioritizing stability and comfort above all else. And FootJoy has become Woods’ go-to shoe.

On Tuesday at the Hero, Woods was in an unmarked prototype….

…but on Wednesday, he was in a white pair of FootJoys, the Premiere Series Wilcox.

At both the 2022 and 2023 Masters, Woods wore FootJoy’s Premier Series Packards. When asked at the 2023 Masters why he wasn’t wearing the newest Nike Tiger Woods golf shoes, Woods said, “I have very limited mobility now. Just with the rods and plates and screws that are in my leg, I needed something different, something that allowed me to be more stable. That’s what I’ve gone to.”

Nike seems to be supportive of Tiger, judging by their (most recent) response in 2022: “Like golf fans around the world, we are delighted to see Tiger back on the course. He is an incredible athlete, and it is phenomenal to see him returning to the game at this level. His story continues to transcend sport and inspire us all. As he continues his return, we will work with him to meet his new needs.”

What else is Tiger sporting?
Teeing it up in the Bahamas? You best pack a quality pair of shades. Woods’ sunglasses of choice this week are from Costa. According to the brand, the polarized lenses provide 100% UV coverage and a “C-Wall” coating provides extra scratch-resistance and a barrier that repels water, oil and sweat for easy cleaning.

A roundup of Woods’ accessories wouldn’t be complete without his famous Daphne’s Tiger driver headcover, which Tiger keeps on his big club. You can pick one up here for 40 bucks:

Woods is also set to play in next week’s Hero World Challenge. He and his son have played the PNC in each of the past three years.

Tiger Woods and his son, Charlie, will compete in this year’s PNC Championship, a 36-hole event for major championship members and one of their relatives.

It will be the fourth straight year that Woods competes in the event, which will be played Dec. 16-17 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.

Woods, who is also scheduled to play in next week’s Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, tied for second with Charlie in the 2021 event, which was the first time he played publicly since the car crash of February 2021 which caused significant injuries to his lower right leg and foot.

The tournament, which has a Friday pro-am, is sanctioned by the PGA Tour Champions, which means Woods is allowed to use a golf cart.

“It is an amazing gift to be able to share my love of golf with Charlie,’’ Woods said in a statement released by the tournament.

Others in the 20-team field include Lee Trevino, 83, who is making his 26th appearance in the event and Padraig Harrington. Justin Thomas, John Daly, Vijay Singh, Nelly Korda, Annika Sorenstam and Tom Lehman are also scheduled to play.
