What drives Simone Biles to attempt another vault even after spending 18 hefty seasons in gymnastics? Despite achieving an elusive height in her sporting love affair, the 26-year-old American phenomenon showed her humane color in the crests and troughs of her life. Spectacles and debacles like those made Simone Biles close to her fans, from her elite gymnastics routine to a Valentine’s Day persona. However, in the Olympic year, the gymnast in her will try to rise above all the kerfuffle that once jolted her in Tokyo. At that onset, Simone Biles will try to be superhuman again.

Though the Winter Cup is yet to come on the topic for the 7x Olympic insignia holder, But the May occasion of the 2024 Core Hydration Classic might frame the legend, taking her stand and flipping again on the mat along the bar. But before that, let’s delve into the factors that culminated in making a simple Ohio girl arguably the greatest gymnast ever to walk on earth.

Adopted by grandparents: Know the role Simone Biles’ guardians played in her life
“I just felt like I needed to look out for her because if family doesn’t look out for you, who’s going to?” Simone Biles’ comment on sister Adria Biles made headlines for a moment. But do you know that their bonding has always been like that?

At an early age, the issue of substance abuse had kept Biles’ family apart. Simone, along with her siblings, bore the brunt of it as they had to shift to foster care. Until their grandparents had become benevolent enough and taken Simone and Adria under their adoption. Moreover, Nellie, Simone’s grandmother, had sacrificed an enormous amount of property to shift the sisters into a practice facility. However, that facility now holds the Simone Biles Invitational.

Love on the field trip: She started her gymnastics journey after a trip
Right now, Simone Biles is in her prime gymnastics time, when the phenom can disclaim that she has nothing left to lose in her sporting affair. With almost 30 international medals in her bag, she may indicate a smooth opening of her career. However, that wasn’t the case. Even the Tokyo Olympics medalist had landed in the gymnastics arena in quite an unplanned way.

It had come out to be the gymnastic schedule going to a local gym that had made the 6-year-old Simone fall for the sport. Well, the judicious glance of that gym’s coach didn’t take a second to reveal the kid’s hidden ability. The rest is, as they say, history.

Fight against ADHD: How Simone Biles overcame to become one of the best in sports?
A ruptured childhood and a highly motivated gymnastics love often made Simone Biles go into whammies. Her suffering from ADHD was one of the results of that quagmire at an early age. But being a responsible face of the American gymnastics arena, the 2016 Olympics gold medalist didn’t shy away from opening up about the disease.

The fiasco had received extra fuel when Russian hackers revealed her medical history containing the ADHD inference. Moreover, the situation had gone into limbo as Simone Biles faced the accusation of consuming banned substances to eradicate the ADHD indications. But the American gymnast had leveled her rebuttals with logic and proof and ultimately came out clean.

Gymnastics run in the family: Simone Biles’s sister followed her to the beam
The childhood quagmires felt only good when Simone Biles found her partner-in-crime in sister Adria Biles. In foster care, they had moved together. So when it had come to go under the guardianship of Ron and Nellie Biles, the sisters had moved hand in hand. The bonding was visible on the gymnastics mat as well.

Both sisters had tried their flipping and handstands together until Adria was 16 years old. But at the Rio Olympics, they bonded again. But that time, Simone was in her leotard, and Adria was in the audience’s suit. But with a striking physical similarity, Adria could funnily pose as Simone Biles among the jovial fans.

A recognized name: How multiple moves are named after Simone?
The double dabble algorithm may have sent sweat even to the very learned mathematicians on the paper. But for Simone Biles, her double dabble touched a different height with a special touch every time. Yes, it is about the gymnastics moves that are named after her. The four-time Olympic gold medalist registered her first uncommon move in 2013. It was a double layout on the half-floor. The gymnastics committee had named it after her, Biles I. Later in 2018, another move came. That time, it was on the vault, with a triple-double on the floor. Ultimately, it was Biles II. After that, two more such gymnastic inscriptions came from her side, bearing her name gladly.

Apart from such factors, what made Simone Biles unreachable was her determination and dedication. Even after losing the Tokyo Olympics ground, the 26-year-old gymnast couldn’t degrade her returning chance on the floor again. She continued with her exercise schedule in the backend. Last year, that determination assisted her in sparkling again on the camps and titles.

Moreover, at the right moment, the American numero uno has shown signs of overcoming her fear and indulging in the best fervor in the sport. Now, the coming days would decide her later chapters in becoming more than a legend.

The world of gymnastics has been graced with iconic moments that continue to captivate us, leaving a mark on the sport’s history. From Nadia Comaneci’s Perfect 10 on Bars at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal to Simone Biles achieving Biles II at the 2023 World Artistic Championships in Antwerp, Belgium, and many others, these iconic moments have stood the test of time.

Adding to this prestigious list is a routine performed by a former artistic gymnast from UCLA at the NCAA championships years ago. This routine combined athleticism with artistic finesse and left a lasting impression on the gymnastics world, including the most decorated gymnast ever, Simone Biles.

A floor routine that went viral
In 2018, at the Pac-12 Championships, UCLA’s Katelyn Ohashi delivered a “Thriller” quite literally when she performed a floor routine that stunned the world. The routine featured songs like “Thriller” and “The Way You Make Me Feel” by the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. With her unparalleled skill and infectious energy, Ohashi garnered a remarkable score of 9.95 out of 10, igniting the crowd to their feet in applause.

The next year, Ohashi once again performed the routine at UCLA’s gymnastics season opener on Jan. 5 and repeated it on Jan. 12 in a UCLA versus Cal showdown that earned her a perfect 10. And this score was repeated once more when Katelyn Ohashi performed the routine on Feb. 10 at a meet against Washington. Since then, Ohashi’s Michael Jackson-themed floor routine has become a viral sensation and still stands as one of the most iconic floor routines in college gymnastics. Did you know it was so iconic that it was even applauded by Simone Biles?

How Simone Biles applauded Katelyn Ohashi
In 2019, Simone Biles gave an interview with Olympics.com and discussed her plans after the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. She shared that she had planned to headline a national tour in the United States following her participation in the Tokyo Olympics. This tour was called “The Gold Over America Tour,” and Biles shared how she would visit 35 cities across the country, including major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and her hometown of Houston. While speaking of her plans, Biles mentioned that the tour will include former UCLA gymnast Katelyn Ohashi, who gained fame for her viral floor routine.

She shared, “She made her mark, She put college gymnastics and gymnastics … back on the map.” As we reflect on the excellence exemplified by athletes like Ohashi and Biles, fans eagerly anticipate the unfolding of the 2024 Olympic year. With each new competition, they hope to witness blazing performances that push the boundaries of gymnastics even further. Who are you rooting for this year? Comment below!

The gymnast champion, 26, posted new photos and clips of the home she and her husband Jonathan Owens are having built

Simone Biles’ new home with husband Jonathan Owens is getting closer to completion!

On Saturday, the Olympic gold medalist 26, gave an update on the progress of the house she and husband Owens, 26, are having built in Texas, sharing photos and clips on her Instagram Story showing the exterior, kitchen and a huge walk-in closet.

An Instagram Story photo captioned “house updates,” showed the front of Biles’ new house with scaffolding set up and large boxes labeled “cultured stone” laid out on the ground in front.

“Stucco is happening 🤯👏🏾😍,” Biles added in the caption, referring to the cement mixture being applied to the exterior of the house.

The next snap showed the stone-laying process for an exterior wall, as one side of Biles’ house was pictured partially covered with the building materials.

“This stone is EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!” the athlete wrote in reaction to the walls in a second caption.

Biles also revealed her new kitchen in further footage, which showed a space with wooden cabinets installed and an unpainted ceiling and walls. As well as close-ups of the kitchen, the gymnast also posted a wider shot that appeared to show that the kitchen sits off a much larger space with high ceilings, possibly a dining room.

Finally, Biles showed off what is set to be her walk-in closet in her home in a clip of a large room with an open closet and plenty of storage, including drawers, shelves and areas that looked set to have clothes hung in them.

“I. AM. OBSESSED,” the sports champion said of her impending new room. “I’ll never run out of room for clothes,” she added.

Biles’ house update comes after celebrating the progress on her home build with a series of posts in December. At the time, Biles posted more construction photos of the beginnings of a laundry room with sliding glass doors and drywall at the construction site.

The project update came after she previously hinted at issues with the renovation on social media the month prior.

In November, Biles stated on her Instagram Story that a 30-minute trip to the house ended up being six hours. “I thought it was going to be a 30 minute thing bc I had no clue what I was walking into,” she explained in one video posted of the home’s high ceilings.

“Called my dad for backup yesterday bc I panicked! but I’ve made so much progress & I’m so proud of myself,” Biles continued. “Jonathan will deal with the end result oops……..I hope I did it decently & thought of all the things.”

Despite previous hiccups, Biles’ latest update appears to show that her and Owens’ new home is on its way to successful completion.

Simone Biles has three siblings, Adria Biles and Ashley Biles-Thomas, who are her biological sisters, and Tevin Biles-Thomas, her biological brother.

Gymnastics star Simone Biles named AP Female Athlete of the Year a third time after dazzling return

Simone’s mother Shannon was addicted to alcohol and drugs, which led to all four children being sent to foster care. After learning about the children in foster care, Simone’s maternal grandfather Ron Biles and his second wife Nellie Cayetano Biles attended to the kids there.

Ron and Nellie then started taking care of the children temporarily in the north Houston suburb of Spring, Texas. After three years, Ron and Nellie formally adopted Shanon’s youngest children – Simone and her sister Adria. Ron’s sister, Harriet, meanwhile, adopted Ashley and Tevin, who stayed in Cleveland, Ohio.

Despite not having the ideal family atmosphere in the initial phase of her life, Simone Biles went on to become one of the greatest gymnasts of all time.

Like her elder sister, Adria took up the sport when she was nine years old. Having competed at the junior elite level, she quit gymnastics in 2016. Adria then chose a different path as she studied dentistry and planned to specialize in hygiene.

Adria has now become a public figure after participating in the show Claim to Fame in 2022. Simone and Adria share a very close bond and are also best friends. Adria was a bridesmaid of Simone during her destination wedding with Green Bay Packers safety Jonathan Owens.

On the other hand, Simone Biles’ older siblings Ashley and Tevin didn’t experience a great lifestyle like their younger ones. Both have been involved in a list of criminal cases.

Ashley has been arrested several times in cases like drug trafficking, assault, and driving under the influence. Brother Tevin was also arrested in a triple murder case on New Year’s Eve but later acquitted due to lack of evidence.

Simone’s relationship with Ashley and Tevin is not as close as her bond with Adria. Additionally, the star gymnast has two more half-siblings, Ron Jr. and Adam, after being adopted by her grandparents.

Simone Biles poses with her multiple gold medals during day 10 of the 49th FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2019 in Stuttgart, Germany.

Regarded as the greatest gymnast from the U.S., Simone Biles has won a record 30 medals in the World Championships, including 23 gold, four silver, and three bronze medals. Biles has claimed six titles each in all-around and floor exercise, four titles in balance beam, and two titles in vault at the World Championships.

She has also clinched seven Olympic medals, which include four gold, one silver, and two bronze medals, tying her alongside Shannon Miller for the most number of medals won by a U.S. gymnast in the history of the Games.

While Simone Biles is all geared up for Paris 2024, what’s unforgettable is her 2016 Rio Olympics performance! Demonstrating extraordinary prowess, she left no room for doubt, clinching gold in the all-around, team, vault, and floor exercises and adding a bronze on the balance beam. Her remarkable achievements in the Rio Olympics are truly worth recalling.

In her autobiography, “Courage to Soar,” there’s a chapter titled “Starstruck in Olympic Village.” This chapter unravels the enchanting tale of Simone’s extraordinary encounters and unforgettable moments. She fondly describes this period as the “best week of my life.” From meeting famous faces to navigating strict rules and forming lasting connections, Simone’s experiences in the Olympic Village provide a behind-the-scenes look. It offers insights into the human side of these celebrated athletes.

Simone Biles’ epic week at the Rio Olympics village
Sthletic triumphs did not solely define Simone Biles’ ‘best week’ during the Rio Olympics. Unexpected encounters with global icons added a unique dimension. Simone received messages from former President Barrack Obama and Mrs. Obama, elevating her Olympic experience in the heart of the Olympic Village Rio de Janeiro. The thrill heightened as she found herself face-to-face with heartthrob Zac Efron. Beyond the realm of gymnastics, these encounters showcased the convergence of diverse worlds within the Olympic Village.

Amidst the excitement of meeting iconic figures, Simone and her teammates explored the Olympic Village with great enthusiasm. Anticipating interactions with renowned athletes, Simone’s eagerness to participate in camaraderie and shared experiences intensified. However, navigating the strict rules set by coach Marta Karolyi presented a unique challenge. The gymnastics team’s activities were confined to the cafeteria and the athlete lounge on the first floor, creating a longing to explore the broader dynamics within the USA Olympic House. This set the stage for Simone’s daring venture to connect with athletes from different disciplines. It led to amusing and memorable encounters indeed!

Navigating strict rules and hilarious swimmer encounters
Simone’s escapade into the Olympic Village took an adventurous turn. She decided to sneak upstairs to the floor where the swimmers resided. Despite the limitations imposed by Marta Karolyi, Simone’s curiosity led her to the door of swimmer Nathan Adrian. The exchange of pins with Nathan unfolded into an exhilarating introduction to none other than the legendary Michael Phelps. The towering stature of Phelps, standing at six feet four, sparked humor in the juxtaposition of their heights. These moments transcended the intense competition on the Olympic stage.

Continuing the amusing encounters, Simone found herself standing back-to-back with 6-foot-8-inch volleyball player David Lee. The comical height differences captured in photographs shared on social media added a lighthearted touch to her Olympic journey.

Despite the initial surprise and laughter, these interactions emphasized the diverse physical attributes of athletes within Team USA. They created memorable snapshots that would endure far beyond the Rio Olympics. Fortunately, Simone’s courage and adventurous spirit led to connections that extended beyond height differentials. This fostered genuine friendships and shared moments with athletes like swimmer Simone Manuel.

Simone Biles needs no introduction when it comes to her domain. At the age of 27, the 7-time Olympic medalist has grown to be the most decorated gymnast ever with numerous more awards associated with her name. In doing so, the gymnastics queen has stood on a pedestal for the younger generation to look up to. Through costumes or through attendance, the aspiring talents have reminded Biles of her GOAT status every so often.

Hence, in reciprocation, the gymnast is all set to be back with her Simone Biles Invitational, catering to the young gymnasts. Today as the event marks its beginning, here’s everything you need to know to not miss out further.

Gymnast Sunisa Lee has been away from gymnastics towards the latter part of 2023. But did that stop her from garnering love and support? No. The 2020 Tokyo Olympics all-around gold medalist has been suffering from a kidney disease, but she’s on a recovery journey already. Sitting out on back-to-back championships has allowed her compatriots to sweep titles. But with Lee’s Olympic return this year, they will have to toil since she has a new vault skill to ace.

Being mindful of her gymnastic practice didn’t mean skipping social media. Getting showered with fan love and celebrating her healing safari, the 20-year-old has also made big strides in her partnership domain. But one alliance stood out particularly, which is almost a household name now.

Sunisa Lee unveils GK Elite’s latest leotard line
Lee took to her Instagram handle to post a pink-and-purple leotard line, which perfectly embodies her lively nature. The caption says, “The @gkelite x @sunisalee collection you all have been asking for is finally here!! *adds to cart* #ad#partnership#gkelite”. Alongside big names like Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, and Jade Carey, the world’s leading brand in gymnastics attire, has Lee welcomed in all her glory. Oftentimes using her social media platform to express her adoration for GK Elite, she featured with them in a recent Instagram reel as well.

Donning blue leotards, the phenoms came up in a carousel while radiating sportsmanship. The leotards by GK Elite go beyond just any normal gymnastic attire. The gymnasts brainstorm with the team by designing the leotards, while also making sure those sit in line with the youngsters. With the catch line “Season to Shine: Athlete Edition”, these leotards summon all gymnasts to wear the iconic confidence sported by the makers. But where did Lee’s journey with fashion start?

Lee’s partnership dates back to 2021
Being fashion forward is an essential factor in the gymnastic domain. So, to keep up with the trends whilst being an inspirational figure, Sunisa Lee joined hands with GK Elite in 2021. Holding hands with PrettyLittleThing, she launched her first leotard collection in 2022.

Since then, her creativity only kept upping. After the NCAA updated the new rule book where the athletes could make money out of NIL deals, there was no going back. “I love fashion so much and when I’m not in my leotard, I love putting looks together”, said she, who always dreamt of designing her own clothes. In the upcoming Paris Olympics, Lee is aiming to name full twisting Jaeger aka ‘The Lee’.

The love story between Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens doesn’t appear to be something written in heaven. The Green Bay Packers’ Safety made some horrendous revelations on his initial take on Simone Biles. On the other hand, the GOAT athlete tried to manage all the circumstances coming out of her personal or gymnastics commitment. Managing both at the same time couldn’t pan out to be without painstaking effort. But the 26-year-old gymnast tried to remain on the happier side.

For a sporty individual who already has a history of facing mental health constraints, the process of staying happy evokes interest. Recently, Simone Biles shared one of such.

Simone Biles gets back her “heart”
For Simone Biles, the grueling distance from her husband Jonathan Owens because of their sporting commitments became a worrying factor. The Olympic champion athlete repeatedly tried to make a conversation with the distance through her presence in the NFL matches or practice seasons. All this came when the athlete tried to evade her busy practice schedule for title contentions. Now, a beautiful visual came into the place when JO made a hasty return after completing his seasonal NFL engagement with the Green Bay Packers. The cheered wife, Simone Biles, could enjoy the moment with an IG story share captioning, “look whose home… my heart” with several emotion-filled emojis.

Reportedly, Simone Biles also made her fence line appearance against that last NFL match of Jonathan Owens. The match result gave a heartbreak to the Green Bay Packers and its fans. But the gymnast cheered wholeheartedly for the husband the complete match, trying her best to fill the moment. But still, eyeing an Olympic return in the French capital, the 4x Olympic champion had to return from California after last weekend’s game day. However, now it was the NFL homebody’s turn to come home to mollify his GOAT wife. However, except few stints, JO tried to play a similar reveling role for Simone Biles.

The Jonathan Owens way to make it
The past days were gloomy for Jonathan Owens, not only for his ill-fetched performance against the top seed in the NFL. Moreover, he had invited flak when he uttered “I always say that the men are the catch” in the Pivot podcast. However, Simone Biles’ comments in the interview with Vanity Fair felt way ahead, more than just breaking the ice. In that interview, the gymnast let slip, “I think what I liked about him was his confidence. He truly believes he’s the best at everything.”

Despite the couple knotted their relationship with jovial promises in May last year, JO was there when Biles had taken an off because of her twisties. Moreover, he had acknowledged his wife’s success thoroughly, if not by physical appearance, then by his virtual presence. In the coming days, Simone Biles would want similar such happenings more often.

The 2024 US gymnastics season is all set to fill up the air soon. Winter Cup, US Classics and Championships, Olympic trials, and numerous more await the gymnasts and the enthusiasts alike. Now as the dates near the brink, one of the world’s most decorated gymnasts Simone Biles, has stepped up to bear presents in honor of the season ahead. And has done so, with some help from the cherished gymnastics brand, GK Elite.

Simone Biles and GK Elite have boosted a long-standing partnership, celebrating the legacy of gymnasts as a marking step. Beginning in 2015, the gymnast has often presented new collections and surprises for her staunch following through the leading brand of gymnastics apparel. Now, ahead of the new gymnastics season, the gymnast is back yet again with more to her name.

Simone Biles arrives with a surprise
Simone Biles and GK Elite recently took to their Instagram profiles to drop a collaborative post announcing a newer collection. “This is the drop we’ve been waiting for! @simonebiles Season to Shine collection is finally here and is all yours!” the caption read. In the shared carousel, the 7-time Olympic medalist adorned 3 different looks for the collection. A swirl patterned ‘Scarlet Starlight’ takes the first thread. A rich navy blue, with silver glitter lining the waist, named ‘Shooting Star’ frames the second while subtle white and blue tones with floral patterns, tagged ‘Moonbeams’ call for the third.

Each of the leotards carries the text, ‘Simone’ embossed to the left thigh corner. Over time, following multiple collaborative releases, the text has grown to be a signature, adding accent to every piece. While the collections inspired and designed in collaboration with athletes might be a known practice of late, Biles’ first collection held a different story.

A goal to inspire
Despite joining GK Elite back in 2015, the partnership saw an extension in 2021 and saw it in a different light. A few weeks ahead of the Tokyo Olympics, Simone Biles and the brand revealed that the partnership would include first-ever athlete-designed competitive leotards. The collection was named ‘Simone Biles Legacy’ and aimed at inspiring the aspirants looking up. “I am thrilled to continue my partnership with GK Elite as we work together to inspire the next generation of gymnasts and encourage them to pursue their own goals and dreams,” said Biles according to Business Wire.

Girisha Chandraraj, President and CEO of GK Elite Sportswear revealed that what impressed the team more than Simone Biles’ accolades was her dedication to growing the sport. Since then, the gymnast and the apparel brand have worked to put out numerous inspiring designs. A wedding homage, a life motto, or a holiday celebration, the gymnast has got it all.

Besides being a three-time Olympic medalist, Suni Lee owns three medals at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, which makes her the 10th most successful gymnast, alongside the likes of Gabby Douglas, Kim Zmeskal, Kyla Ross, and Rebecca Bross.

Lee achieved the medal haul at the 2019 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, held in Stuttgart, Germany. At her debut World Championships, she scored 14.733 on uneven bars, 12.533 on balance beam, and 14.233 on floor exercise to help the USA clinch the gold medal.

Lee won her first individual medal in the Worlds in the uneven bars. The 20-year-old executed a flawless routine to achieve a score of 14.800 to bag the bronze medal. She ended her campaign with a silver-medal-winning performance in the floor exercise, scoring 14.133, only behind Biles (15.133).
