After her incredible defense against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40, Rhea Ripley paid the price for underestimating a genuine threat: Liv Morgan. The superstar in question injured the Women’s World Champion’s shoulder on Raw.

Rhea Ripley Hits Impressive WWE Milestone - WrestleTalk

After a brutal backstage attack by Liv Morgan, Ripley began to suffer from issues in her right shoulder, and a few days back on an episode of Raw, Ripley sadly announced that she would be vacating the title. Ever since, fans have been awaiting the return of ‘Mami’, who recently provided an injury update on her social media.

Rhea Ripley draws inspiration from herself as she provides an update on her shoulder injury
Mami has become one of the biggest names in WWE’s women’s roster over the past year. But her current injury issue has halted her meteoric rise. And recently on her social media, she uploaded a picture of her office, which featured several title belts as well as photographs of Ripley’s iconic moments. And in the caption to the picture, she provided an update on her fitness as she simply wrote, “Progress”.

The loss of Mami is sure to affect the Stamford-based promotion considering the plans they had for her. But another entity that could suffer even more due to the absence of The Eradicator is her faction: The Judgment Day. Tensions have flared in the group between its members, with Damian Priest drawing a line in the sand on Raw. WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray had a few choice things to say on the Busted Open Radio about Ripley’s injury. He suggested that it may not be as serious as many fear it will be for her. So it shouldn’t be long before the former champion comes for the title again. But was taking her completely off TV the right decision? One former WWE personality doesn’t think so.

Vince Russo wants Mami to keep appearing
Rhea Ripley is away from WWE programming as she recovers. However, she could surely do a lot on Raw without having matches and even without being the World Champion just like CM Punk. But the company seems to have made the decision to allow her to rest one hundred percent. Which is the best thing for her to return with all the strength in the world. Now, Vince Russo too thinks she should stay on TV.

WWE star Rhea Ripley relinquishes Women's World Championship due to injury | Fox News

The former WWE writer from the 90s shares his opinion every week on Legion of Raw after the red brand show and in the most recent episode of the podcast, he dedicated a few words to the situation of Mami. He said, “Bro, back in the Attitude Era, if somebody got hurt, they were still on the show. They just wouldn’t wrestle. We did that all the time. If Austin would get hurt or The Rock, I would say, ‘Okay, they’re gonna be on the show, we’ll write them on the show. They’re just not gonna wrestle.”

He further added, “Rhea Ripley is a huge star. Why can’t they write for her without having her wrestle? I don’t understand this… Why isn’t she on the show now? She’s got her arm in a sling, she can’t get on an airplane?” Well, Russo surely wants Mami to still be a part of the WWE programming and arguably for good reason. The Judgment Day is in disarray and the championship scene has moved on from Ripley. It won’t be surprising to think that The Eradicator will want to stamp her authority on things and reestablish her ambitions. What do you think? Should the WWE bring Ripley like they brought Punk? However, Deville went down with a torn ACL shortly after capturing the titles, and Piper Niven replaced her in the tag team. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven put together an impressive title reign before losing them to Kayden Carter and Katana Chance on the December 18, 2023 edition of RAW.

Liv Morgan took to Instagram today to send a heartfelt message to Sonya Deville ahead of her wedding day. Morgan noted that Deville was her best friend and thanked the happy couple for letting her be a part of their bachelorette weekend:

WWE star Liv Morgan reveals how she deals with bullying
Liv Morgan recently shared how she has dealt with cyberbullying throughout her career in the spotlight as a WWE Superstar.

Speaking to Emily Mae of Sportskeeda Wrestling in an exclusive interview last year, the 29-year-old shared that she has experienced bullying online throughout her career but tries to tune out the negativity. Morgan added that how others see her is not her truth, and she is just trying to have fun doing what she loves:

“My experience with bullying has been a lot of cyberbullying in my career, like ‘you’re never gonna be a champion, you’re not big enough, strong enough.’ I just try to zone out, tune out, just not pay attention to it. Does it bother me sometimes? Yes. But how others see me is not my truth. So I just try to stick to just doing what I know and have fun while doing it,” said Liv Morgan. (0:52 – 1:16)

Morgan and Soho have an enriched history together as both stars made their main roster debuts alongside Sarah Logan, now known as Valhalla, on the same day in World Wrestling Entertainment. The trio were known as The Riott Squad. However, the stable was disbanded during the 2019 WWE Superstar Shake-up as Liv moved to SmackDown Live and Ruby went on a hiatus due to a shoulder injury.

The duo were reunited in 2020 and wrestled many matches together, but in 2021, Ruby Soho was released from her WWE contract. After a few months, Soho joined AEW.

Liv Morgan recently took to her Instagram to post several photos alongside her former tag team partner, Ruby Soho, wishing her a Happy Birthday. Morgan also expressed her love for Soho in the caption of her post.

WWE Hall of Famer believes people should not be making a big deal out of Liv Morgan’s recent arrest
During a recent episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s The Wrestling Time Machine podcast with host Mac Davis, WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long said that he does not understand why people were making a huge deal out of Liv Morgan’s arrest because of possession of marijuana as it was legal in a lot of states in the USA.

“I know that there are some dispensaries there [Florida]. What I’m saying is that I don’t know why people are making such a big deal of her possession of marijuana. And in ten states the stuff’s legal. You know what I mean? So, if she isn’t selling weed or wasn’t caught with pounds or kilos, then who cares? I don’t understand the problem,” Teddy Long said.
Morgan is currently out with an injury, and some fans believe she might return at the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble Match. What the Stamford-based promotion has in store for her future remains to be seen.
