Fans go to extreme lengths to impress their idols! However, this fan broke all the records any fan has ever set. In a recent turn of events, Mike Tyson was out meeting some of his fans during a Tyson 2.0 event. That’s when the hilarious yet impressive incident conspired, leaving Tyson shocked and everyone else in the room clenching their stomachs.

A handful of hours ago, Mike’s Tyson 2.0 Instagram account shared a post on the platform. It showed popular internet personality Gangster Granny greeting ‘Iron’ Mike. Moreover, Adam Wilks, CEO of Tyson 2.0’s parent company, Carma HoldCo. was also present in the room. However, suddenly, a fan walks in, wanting to show something to ‘Iron’ Mike.

Adam Wilks breaks into laughter
Sharing the clip of the incident, the folks at Tyson 2.0 wrote in the caption, “Wow[!] You never know what you’re going to see from the champ’s fans.” It began with Gangster Granny hugging Mike, “Hi Tyson, how you doing?” That’s when the clip cuts to the fan walking into the room and saying, “Got a little surprise for you, Mike. [Are] you ready?”

Intrigued by the fan’s confidence and excitement, Mike said, “Let me check it out!” The fan turned around to show Mike an image of him on the back of the fan’s head. The fan had cut his hair to turn it into Mike’s likeness – smoking a cigar. Amusingly, the cigar was the fan’s hair sticking out! Seeing the unusual site, Wilks stated, “Oh S**t…,” as he broke into laughter.

t even left Mike shocked, as he asked the fan, “How’d you do that?” The fan goes on to say, “It also smokes as well.” When somebody in the room asked Mike if he wanted to see his likeness smoke, he said, “Nah, I will pass.” While this fan’s devotion to Mike is unmatched, something similar happened a while back.

Mike Tyson fails to notice fan’s tattoo
In a clip shared on X (formerly Twitter) on January 2 by Boxing n BBQ, the former heavyweight champion can be seen walking through a sea of fans. The X account holder shared the clip with a caption that read, “I’m going to tell myself the GOAT didn’t see it.” In the clip, the fan tries to show Mike his tattoo, but it doesn’t turn out the way he might have wanted.

Despite brandishing his arm with a striking Tattoo of Mike’s face, the retired boxer failed to notice the tattoo due to being engrossed with the surroundings. While it might have left the fan heartbroken, Mike also missed out on a beautiful artwork. However, if he had seen it, his reaction would have been similar to his reaction in the first clip.

Mike Tyson has a truly devoted fan base, ready to go to any length to impress the former champion. What did you think about the fan’s surprise for Mike? Did you like it?

There is no denying that Terence Crawford is one of the best fighters boxing has to offer today. Doubling down on his boxing acumen, former heavyweight champion, Lennox Lewis has suggested how ‘Bud’ can possibly beat, another abled fighter of today, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

After beating Julius Indongo in 2017 to become undisputed in the super lightweight class and then defeating Errol Spence Jr., to become undisputed in the welterweight division, he is one of the very few 2x undisputed champions in boxing history. In the wake of such a feat, in hopes of turning the 2x into 3x, the ambitious Crawford called on the unified super middleweight champion, Canelo Álvarez. But can Crawford really defeat Canelo, who’s only been defeated twice in his 64-fight career? Here is what Lewis has to say.

Terence Crawford Seizes the Moment to Become Undisputed Boxing Champion - WSJ

Lennox Lewis is all praises for Terence Crawford
It’s a possibility,” remarked the 3x world heavyweight champion. In a recent interview with Fight Hub TV, Lennox Lewis was asked about what he thinks of Crawford wanting to fight Canelo. The British legend said, “Let me tell you about Terence Crawford, that man is Kung Fu. You know, when you watch a martial arts movie, you know, you think of him, because he’s full with his style, great with his style.”

“He’s got power, he’s got poise, he’s got speed, he’s got movement, he’s got the full package and no wonder is undisputed, double undisputed that’s quite remarkable,” said Lewis.

He further mentioned that if he went on to beat Canelo, he would be undisputed thrice and that would been even more remarkable. And if this feat is achieved, he added, “We got to bow to him at that point,” making a splendid case for Bud.

But is that enough to beat Canelo, the Mexican fighter who’s considered to be one of the best in the sport?

Terence Crawford caps off masterpiece with ninth-round knockout of Errol Spence - MMA Fighting

Lewis argued that there is a way to defeat Canelo that hardly any fighter has learned. Bivol’s victory over the Jalisco fighter was attributed to the former’s weight. Mayweather fought a Canelo who was still young in the sport, while ‘Money’ was seemingly in his prime, coming off a strong streak of undefeated fights.

So, what is this way that Lewis suggests? It’s the art of ‘jabs’.

The Lennox Lewis jab
‘The Lion’ as many call him, was famous and even feared for his signature jab that he perfected early in his career. The signature straight right hand has fazed the likes of Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. Now, as he looks back at how ‘the jab’ pushed him to the top of boxing, leaving him defeated only twice in his 45-fight-long career, he thinks the jab is what could dethrone Alvarez.

He further explained, “I know every great heavyweight has a jab. Even the lighter weights, they’re not using the jabs. They’re forgetting that the jab is the main weapon of a fighter. The first weapon of a fighter is a jab, and after that, it’s a right-hand hook, uppercut. But first, you gotta establish your jab.”

Terence Crawford currently awaits a date for his rematch with Errol Spence Jr. Once that happens, it remains to be seen if he gets a fight with Canelo. Who do you think would win between Bud and Canelo? Let us know in the comments section below.

Floyd Mayweather is no longer ranked as the greatest pound for pound boxer of all time – and Mike Tyson does not even make the top 10 list.

The 46-year-old, with his perfect 50-0 record, was ranked the best to ever step inside the squared circle by Box Rec, the go-to site for all boxing stats and information, when the list was published back in 2020.

Boxing: Is Floyd Mayweather running out of money? | Marca

Mayweather’s last official fight was a 10th round TKO victory over UFC star Conor McGregor in August 2017 and won 27 of his bouts by knockout.

But Mayweather is now number two on the list and has lost top spot to a fighter whose career spanned 25 years and began in 1940 and involved a remarkable 201 bouts.

Sugar Ray Robinson is now top spot, with a record of 174 wins, 109 of which were by knockout and ranks him among the all-time leaders for knockouts.

The impressive record also includes six draws, two no-contests, and only 19 losses, which is not bad going at all considering his career spanned 201 fights.

Robinson died at the age of 67 in 1989 from heart disease, with a career that began in 1940 and ended when he announced his retirement from boxing in November 1965.

Manny Pacquiao, one of Mayweather’s great rivals during his career, sits fourth on the list.

But there’s no place in the top 10 for the likes of Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Evander Holyfield, Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roy Jones Jr, Lennox Lewis, Rocky Marciano and Joe Calzaghe.

Tyson is possibly the biggest omission from the top 10 and one of the biggest names to not feature.

Tyson had a total of 58 professional boxing bouts between 1985 and 2005 in a career which spanned three decades and came to a conclusion as he approached his 39th birthday.

In that time, Tyson chalked up 50 wins and just six losses, with an astounding 44 victories on knockout as he demonstrated his stopping power in the ring.

And Ali’s career spanned a total of 61 bouts, with a remarkable 56 wins, 37 of which were knockouts, and just five losses.

The Greatest passed away in 2016 at the age of 74.

Mike Tyson gave a brilliant reply when asked who would win a heavyweight bought between him and Muhammad Ali.

There are a lot of questions to be answered in boxing’s heavyweight division going into 2024.

Is Anthony Joshua back to his best? Will Tyson Fury get the better of Oleksandr Usyk? Is Deontay Wilder finished? Of course, they are all queries likely to be settled by the end of next year.

However, we will never get an answer to boxing most curious and frequently asked hypothetical question: Who wins between a prime Tyson and a prime Ali?

Tyson reigned as the undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990, having won his first 19 professional fights by knockout, 12 of them in the first round.

He became the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles, as well as the only heavyweight to unify them in succession.

After being knocked out by underdog Buster Douglas in 1990 and undergoing prison time in 1992, Tyson engaged in a series of comeback fights, regaining the WBA and WBC titles in 1996.

Meanwhile, Ali held the Ring magazine heavyweight title from 1964 to 1970, was the undisputed champion from 1974 to 1978 and the WBA and Ring heavyweight champion from 1978 to 1979.

Ali’s dominance in the ring and activism outside it saw him named in 1999 as Sportsman of the Century by Sports Illustrated and the Sports Personality of the Century by the BBC.

While it’s impossible to truly know who would have won a bout between Ali and Tyson, the latter believes that he wouldn’t have stood a chance.

Speaking to ‘This is 50’ in 2012, Iron Mike insisted that no one could have beaten prime Ali.

He said: “There’s no man like him. Everything we have, he supersedes it.

“Nobody beats Ali, it’s not about the muscle memory it’s not about concentration it’s just about him doing it.

“I can’t beat that man, hell no f**k this (laughs).”

They say never meet your heroes. But would anyone want to miss the chance to meet Mike Tyson? Of course, not! A die-hard Tyson fan went to meet his hero with his tattoo dedicated to the boxer but would have returned home disappointed. What happened between Tyson and the fan?

Well, nothing. And that’s the problem. Tyson didn’t seem to notice the fan or his tattoo which was Tyson’s photo. A clip of the same went viral and social media users shared their thoughts about the incident.

Fan receives disappointing reaction from Mike Tyson
‘Boxing n BBQ’ shared the video and wrote in the caption, “I’m going to tell myself the GOAT didn’t see it.” In the clip, the fan can be seen approaching Tyson with his sleeves folded up and a beautiful tattoo of the boxer was on full display.

The fan attempted to show ‘Kid Dynamite’ the tattoo and wanted a picture but to no avail. Mike Tyson simply seemed too distracted and didn’t notice the fan or his tattoo as he walked past him.

It’s worth mentioning that by the vibe of the event, it’s likely but not confirmed that Mike Tyson was there promoting his popular Tyson 2.0 cannabis products. The same is further corroborated by Adam Wilks’ presence, who can be seen walking behind the former heavyweight champion.

Mike Tyson may have been distracted but Twitter users were not!
Responding to the clip, some fans suggested Mike Tyson could not see the tattoo due to the crowd, while others questioned if the fan would get the tattoo removed after the incident. There were also people who simply appreciated the tattoo for its artistic value.

Further, another user had a different idea as to why Mike did not react. They claimed ‘Iron’ Mike could have been uncomfortable about the tattoo.

Many social media users stated that the retired boxer looked preoccupied and didn’t see the tattoo. By the looks of the video, it does seem highly possible.
One user gave props to the tattoo, claiming it was “fire”. While Tyson didn’t notice the work of art, the internet did!

Given the fact that Mike Tyson has six tattoos on his entire body, the chances of him getting offended by the tattoo are low. However, what are your thoughts on the matter – do you think Tyson ignored the fan knowingly?

Gervonta Davis, the 29-year-old WBA World Lightweight titleholder, recently embraced Islam. Following the footsteps of boxing legends, he underwent a significant transformation. Drawing parallels with iconic figures like Muhammad Ali, formerly known as Cassius Clay, Davis made a profound announcement of his conversion on social media.

The Baltimore Banner reported that the boxer solidified his commitment to Islam by performing the shahada. It is the Islamic testimony of faith, that marked a significant moment in his spiritual journey. In a symbolic gesture, Davis also announced his new Muslim name after converting to Islam. So what is it?

Is ‘Abdul Wahid’ the new name of Gervonta Davis?
To keep it short, yes. On December 24, Gervonta Davis, now Abdul Wahid, embraced his new faith, Islam, in Maryland. His chosen name translates to ‘The Servant of The One,’ a reflection of his commitment to his spiritual journey. The conversion ceremony, including the Islamic testimony of faith (shahada), was conducted under the guidance of Imam Hassan Abdi. He was surprised at Davis’s down-to-earth demeanor despite his renown.

The humility displayed by Davis left a lasting impression on Imam. Beyond the religious community, the boxing champion’s newfound faith has garnered support from the world of combat sports. With former WBC cruiserweight champion Badou Jack extending a warm welcome. Also, the UFC fighter Khamzat Chimaev addressed Davis with his new name as he welcomed him to the religion.

So now it’s to be seen, who’s a bigger inspiration for Davis? Muhammad Ali or Mike Tyson. Both are Muslims but their practices are quite different. Tyson, in contrast to Ali, didn’t change his fight name to his Muslim name, i.e. Malik Abdul Aziz. He kept on being addressed as ‘Mike Tyson’. So will Davis do the same?

Boxing star Gervonta Davis involved in Baltimore hit-and-run

Will Davis be officially changing his name?
As of now, ‘Tank’ hasn’t shown any signs of getting his name changed to Abdul Wahid. He has announced his new name, however, he hasn’t expressed distress over the use of his old name. Moreover, even on his social media, there haven’t been any changes witnessed as such that could indicate his wish to be called by his Muslim name.

On his Instagram, his username remains the same: ‘gervontaa’. Even his name is unchanged, as it displays ‘Gervonta Davis’ written on his profile. Even on the X app, it’s no different. His username is still ‘Gervontaa’, while his name remains untouched. So most likely, Davis will be following Mike Tyson’s route and would continue to fight under his old name.

Or, he’s taking things a bit slow as he may be giving some time to his fans so that they can acclimatize to the changes gradually.

Mike Tyson hilariously revealed the exact reason why he would never have been able to become a UFC fighter.

Tyson enjoyed a legendary boxing career as he remains the youngest world heavyweight champion in history.

He won the WBC title aged just 20, beating Trevor Berbick in the second round to write his name in the boxing record books.

But how would his boxing skills translate to MMA and specifically in the UFC? Well, the former ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ himself doesn’t like his chances inside the famed Octagon.

And he revealed why.

Tyson said that he could never become a UFC fighter because he has the ‘worst feet in the world’.

In an interview with GQ Sports, he was asked how he would have fared as an MMA fighter to which he replied: “I don’t know what I would do in the UFC, because I watched the UFC a couple of times, and I watched these guys step on people’s feet.”

The 57-year-old added: “And I have the worst feet in the world, and if somebody stepped on my feet, I would totally tap out and just give up.

“It would be a no-brainer.”

Tyson was a playable character on the video games UFC 2, UFC 3 and UFC 5 as he’s often sat cageside with Dana White, who once joined the ex-boxer’s podcast to discuss UFC GOATs.

Asked to name the greatest fighters in UFC history, White replied: “So hard to do because there have been so many great fighters… but you gotta start with Jon Jones.

“You got to have Amanda Nunes,” he said, calling her the ‘greatest female fighter of all time’.

The UFC CEO continued: “How do you not have Usman?

“If you look at the different generations of people who helped take the sport to another level,” said White. “It’s hard to just pick five all-time great fighters. Matt Hughes would have to make the list… and then you look at all the different Brazilians that came up… the Pride era. It’s hard to pick just five.”

Mike Tyson became the youngest heavyweight world champion in history with a devastating display against Trevor Berbick.

‘Iron Mike’ was just 20 years and 150 days old on fight night, but he was a big favourite to win after amassing a perfect 27-fight record and knocking out all but two of his opponents.

Berbick came into the fight as WBC champion, but despite being the man in possession of the gold, he was a 7/1 underdog against Tyson.

However, being the champ gave Berbick the decision on what colour trunks he would wear to defend the crown. Opting for mind games, he chose black, which Tyson had made his trademark as he blasted his way into contention. The challenger didn’t care, swallowing the $500k fine for his outfit, while the stunt backfired spectacular.

The bookies were quickly proven right when Tyson and Berbick squared off at the Hilton in Las Vegas on November 22, 1986.

As the first round began, both men took to the centre of the ring, Berbick set about trying to show his power, while Tyson used his signature bob-and-weave technique to back him up.

Berbick, who was 12 years older than his opponent, landed a couple of jabs and an illegal blow to the back of the head, but he had no impact on the fight.

By round two, Tyson was ready to close the show and tried to do just that by rocking Berbick with a huge overhand right during a clinch.

The following uppercut missed, but the young American connected with a left hook to the temple that sent Berbick tumbling to the canvas.

Tyson’s rival staggered to his feet before falling into the ropes and forcing referee Mills Lane to wave off the fight after less than six minutes.

After making history in epic fashion, he simply shrugged his shoulders before his corner jumped into the ring to celebrate with him.

“I came here very confident, and I knew I wasn’t leaving this ring alive without the championship of the world,” Tyson said.

“I was throwing deadly and accurate punches.

“I’ll fight anybody. I’m the best fighter in the world.

“No man can beat me.”

For Berbick, he met a grisly end in 2006 when murdered by his own nephew after being in regular trouble with the law and spending time behind bars.

Tyson’s comment about being unbeateable, though, rang true during the next four years as he went on an incredible run of destructive knockout wins and instilled fear at the top of the sport’s marquee division.

After improving his record to 37-0 and picking up all three major world titles, he suffered one of the biggest upsets in boxing history against Buster Douglas in February 1990.

Tyson retired from the sport with a 50-6 record in 2005 but almost two decades later many fans still regard him as the best heavyweight of all time.

As an Mike Tyson got ready to ruin Michael Spinks as if he was the Nakatomi Plaza on Christmas Eve (venue for the worst Crimbo party in history), Bruce Willis was sitting ringside waging a PR war on behalf of his new risky blockbuster: Die Hard.

It went on to become an action classic – and arguably the greatest Christmas film ever made – but in 1988, it was seen as a huge gamble by film studio 20th Century Fox. Unable to get a leading action star (Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Clint Eastwood and even Al Pacino all turned the role down, while 70-year-old Frank Sinatra was also offered it), the studio decided to pay TV actor Willis a then sky-high £5million. At the time, he was better known as the small-screen star of rom-com series Moonlighting and was a bizarre choice to many.

Tyson became the heavyweight world champion by unifying all of the belts against Michael Spinks in June 1988

So it’s little wonder that a bearded Willis – sitting ringside for Tyson’s long-awaited showdown – was rather shamelessly wearing a Die Hard baseball cap and sunglasses as he chatted to Sean Penn and Madonna. If Willis was nervous about his film’s release the following month in July, he probably wasn’t as intimidated as one Michael Spinks on 27 June, 1988.

The 31-year-old former light-heavyweight champion and lineal heavyweight champ was being paid £13.5million to face the headline attraction: Iron Mike. When Spinks’s manager Butch Lewis decided to play pre-fight mind games on Tyson by insisting that his hands needed to be re-wrapped, causing a lengthy delay, it backfired. The move only seemed to agitate his fighter and fire-up an already bad-tempered Tyson.

Best I Faced: Mike Tyson - The Ring

Lewis later recalled that he walked into Tyson’s dressing room only to see: “He’s punching holes in the wall. I’m like – to myself – ‘Oh no!” In his own changing room, observers claimed that Spinks – a world-class boxer who’d never been knocked down or tasted defeat – was in a state of fear. Not the nervous butterflies that can affect athletes before they perform, but genuine alarm at the pain that the 5ft 11ins, ferocious-punching Tyson might inflict upon him.

At least the delay for the main event gave cameras plenty of time to focus in on Willis and his unsubtle hat among a star-studded ringside crowd that included Jack Nicholson, Stallone, Donald Trump (who was staging the fight in Atlantic City), Chuck Norris and fictional former heavyweight champion Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers).

Boxing fan Willis was ringside for Tyson vs Spinks but sadly only got 91 seconds to promote action hit Die Hard

By the time Spinks came to the ring to the shrill pop stylings of ‘This Is It’ by Kenny Loggins, he wore a sickly smile and a sheen of sweat. Tyson, bare-chested having even dispensed with his usual white towel, exuded menace as he emerged second to a strange cacophony of clanging and banging that sounded like The Undertaker’s alarm clock going off. Let’s assume none of this did anything to settle Spinks’ nerves.

The bout itself offered minimal airtime for Willis’s baseball cap as it lasted only 91 seconds. A shaken Spinks – instead of using his jab to try to disrupt his opponent’s rhythm, which was his usual tactic – instead tried to stand his ground and gain Tyson’s respect early on. This proved an error. Instead Spinks earned a series of concussing bombs that quickly hammered him to the canvas. ‘The Jinx’ gamely got up but Tyson was on him with a short left hook-right uppercut combo that left Spinks falling backwards like Hans Gruber off the side of a skyscraper.

The most anticipated heavyweight fight since the reign of Muhammad Ali was all over in half a round. The watching Willis, a boxing fan and ringside regular to this day, would have loved to have had the guaranteed box-office success Tyson brought, however. The card billed as ‘Once and For All’ grossed $70million, making it the richest fight in boxing history at the time. The Don King-promoted Tyson earned a supposed $22million, while in the background his manager Bill Cayton and his wife Robin Givens battled for control of his career.

Retrospectively this is viewed as Tyson’s defining victory, despite the undisputed heavyweight champion being only 21 years old at the time. Within two years he’d lose to James Buster Douglas (fighting on the undercard here) in a seismic upset.

Spinks was a dangerous heavyweight, but Tyson made light work of him with the belts on the line
Spinks was a dangerous heavyweight, but Tyson made light work of him with the belts on the line

After a stint in prison, he had major fights, but wasn’t quite the same fighter, boxing for the love of the sport as he had once done.

Willis, however, was just getting started. Despite fears he was horribly miscast as an action star, audiences loved his everyman appeal and cocky wisecracks. Die Hard went on to earn $140million on a $28million budget, justifying Willis’ fee and turning him into a big-screen superstar.

Was it all to do with that garish hat ploy at the Tyson fight? Only the wisest among us can say. However, Die Hard’s influence extended well beyond the four (and counting) sequels. The popularity of the underdog-stuck-in-a-restricted-environment story meant it was rehashed as Die Hard on a bus (Speed), Die Hard on a boat (Under Siege), Die Hard on a plane (Passenger 57, Air Force One and Con Air), Die Hard on a mountain (Cliffhanger), Die Hard on Alcatraz (The Rock), Die Hard in the White House (Olympus Has Fallen, White House Down) and so on.

Both Tyson and Willis would go on to cash even bigger cheques than they did in the summer of 1988, but in terms of their ongoing legacy, both had reached an early-career peak. Yet spare a thought for Mike Spinks. A hall of fame boxer who that June was trapped in the scariest disaster movie of all: Die Hard trapped in a boxing ring with Iron Mike Tyson.

UFC legend Chuck Liddell revealed exactly how a street fight with Mike Tyson would end up as he made a huge claim about the boxing icon.

Liddell dominated inside the famed Octagon as he reigned over the UFC light-heavyweight division, beating the likes of Randy Couture and arch-rival Tito Ortiz during his prime.

Tyson, on the other hand, is regarded as one of the best heavyweight boxers of all time following his brutal spell as world heavyweight champion.

What would happen if Liddell and Tyson were to have a brawl in the streets?

Well, ‘The Iceman’ fancies his chances of beating ‘Iron’ Mike in a street fight.

He reckons he’d beat Tyson in a street fight, stating the legendary boxer would only have a puncher’s chance.

“In a street fight, I’d win,” Liddell told Ed Mylett on his podcast. “I mean, he’s got a puncher’s chance. He’s got a chance to catch me coming in. But other than that, it’s over.”

Chuck Liddell during his UFC fight against Rashad Evans. Image: Getty

Liddell was UFC’s original superstar as he carried the promotion during the infancy stages of Dana White’s tenure as president.

He had his last UFC fight in June 2010 then came out of retirement to fight Ortiz under the Golden Boy Promotions banner.

As for Tyson, he retired after losing to Irish fighter Kevin McBride in June 2005. But, like Liddell, he came out of retirement to face fellow boxing great Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition bout.

And he gave a hilarious response when asked if he could have become a UFC fighter.

“I don’t know what I would do in the UFC, because I watched the UFC a couple of times, and I watched these guys step on people’s feet,” he told GQ Sports.

“And I have the worst feet in the world, and if somebody stepped on my feet, I would totally tap out and just give up.

“It would be a no-brainer.”
