Simone Biles received another surprise outing from husband Jonathan Owens. After attending the last NBA game together in Houston, this time the couple celebrated the warmth with a small dinner party. The closely-knitted affair witnessed both Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens finding satisfaction in the company of each other.

To keep her followers updated with the happening, the 27-year-old gymnast posted an IG story last night showing Jonathan taking his grab from the dinner plate with an enormous smile. Simone captioned the post, “came to visit me on set today [emoji]”. Eventually, the small dinner party served several insights apart from hinting at the warmth the couple is having between them now.

As the visual panned out from that IG story, it fervently showcased an indoor with Simone’s photo frame behind. In the meantime, Simone’s handbags were visible at the corner. However, with such an appearance, the Rio Olympics champion left her fans guessing about the location of their latest dinner date. But at the same time, the occasion gave out a similar vibe to a past incident.

Jonathan Owens is eagerly waiting for his turn in the color of the Chicago Bears. The 28-year-old NFL safety is gleefully participating in the fitness drills under the careful watch of the support staffers. So, a season-opening entry in the final lineup is on the cards for him. So before unfolding a new NFL season for the new club, the dinner date rang, reminiscing about his Green Bay Packers game as the season-opener last year.

That time as well, Simone Biles reunited with Jonathan Owens, throwing a dinner date. Later, she shared an update from that dinner on IG, captioning, “bro is so fine.” Ironically, at that time, the GBP squad was about to face the Chicago Bears in their opening game. In the clip, the Columbus native can be seen running, and after a couple of flips, she hits a perfect and seamless corkscrew, which looks terrific and satisfying at the same time. If everything goes right, the same can be expected from Simone Biles at the 2024 Pacific Rim Championships. The event will witness around 18 athletes from the United States battling it out against some of the best global gymnasts. The competition is scheduled to kick off from April 21st to April 28th in Cali, Colombia, and the City of Jesolo Trophy on April 20th and 21st in Jesolo, Italy. In her recent Instagram post, the GOAT looks as pretty as ever, all dolled up and ready for her party. In the picture, Biles is seen wearing a tank top, flaunting her wedding ring and necklace that reads ‘OWENS.’

Turning 27 this year, the gymnastics GOAT had a blast of a birthday with her husband. On the other hand, Owens did not waste an opportunity to wish his loving wife. He dedicated a post to her on Instagram with a heartwarming message.

He shared ten pictures with Biles, with every image having a beautiful scenic view. The images look like the power couple clicked them when they went on their getaway in Hawaii for their best friend’s wedding. Jonathan wished his wife in the most loving way that would melt hearts and wrote in the caption:

Happy birthday to the most beautiful soul, my amazing wife. So crazy to me how life aligns you with the person that you’re meant to be with, you’ve made me a better man in so many ways I can’t explain it.”

In the most scenic of backgrounds, the couple seems to have some beautiful pictures next to the beach. In one picture, the two share a loving kiss, and in another, the duo walks hand in hand on the beach. They also go horse riding, all in beautiful scenery

Fans are exited as the US teen gymnast Tiana Sumanasekera seen training with Simone Biles, aiming for LA 2028

It’s easy to imagine an 8-year-old Tiana Sumanasekera huddled around a TV or cellphone intently watching as U.S. gymnast Simone Biles swept through the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, where she won four titles.

Nearly eight years later, the scene is different. Really different.

Sumanasekera, now 16, still has Biles squarely in focus but now the two are training mates at the gym owned by the four-time Olympic champion’s parents, World Champions Centre (WCC), in Spring, Texas, a suburb of Houston.

“I mean, sometimes it doesn’t even hit me, but when it does, it’s just like, ‘Wow. I’ve really come this far,’” Sumanasekera told reporters during a U.S. training camp earlier this year. “It’s incredible because knowing my younger self, I was just in the sport because I absolutely loved it, and I had such a passion for it.

“So, just being able to do it every day made myself happy and my heart happy,” she continued, “Just knowing that I’ve come this far is something that makes me so incredibly proud and emotional.”

Born in Northern California near San Francisco, Sumanasekera started her elite gymnastics career at West Valley Gymnastics. While there, she finished ninth all-around as a junior at the 2022 U.S. championships.

Following that competition, she made a major move – going from California to Texas and World Champions Centre.

“I knew I wanted to improve my bars if I wanted to be competitive in the senior elite field,” Sumanasekera says of the impetus for the move. “I’ve always been inspired by and always looked up to Cecile and Laurent [Landi’s] coaching style, knowing they brought Simone from one level to the next is something that I was really in awe about. I really loved their coaching style, so I wanted to be a part of that as well and be a part of an incredible team and have the teammates that I do today.”

Little changes, big results
At WCC, what might seem like small changes paid off in big ways.

“I’d say arm conditioning is something that has changed tremendously,” explained Sumanasekera. “I was pretty weak, and I think that was kind of showing in my bars, as well. Something that really changed my bars and made it better was arm conditioning and strengthening my arms and core.”

The uneven bars has always been a difficult event for Sumanasekera. At the 2022 U.S. nationals, she failed to break 11.000 on either day of competition. A year later, after working with the Landis, she went as high as 12.800 at the event.

That boosted her to a tie for eighth place in her first year as a senior. She also received an invite to the U.S. women’s World Championships and Pan Am Games selection event and was eventually named to the U.S. squad for the Pan Am Games in Santiago, Chile.

The team won gold there.

“I am very proud of how I did in my first senior elite season,” Sumanasekera reflected. “I think it’s something that’s very hard to do, have the perfect season, you know? I went on two international assignments, and being a Pan Am gold medallist, Pan Am Games gold medallist is such a big deal to me.

“Being on that team with Jordan [Chiles] was amazing,” she continued, “and having her lead us throughout the way was such an incredible feeling. I’m very proud of how I did.”

Sumanasekera: “I would love to try for the ’28 Olympics”
She hopes to one day follow in Chiles’ footsteps, all the way to the Olympic Games.

This season, Sumanasekera is yet to compete after opting out of February’s Winter Cup, but she told reporters she’s excited about several skill upgrades (a full-out on floor, a switch leap mount on beam, and a toe-on blind change on the bars) and her new floor routine.

“I’m very excited for it,” she said of floor. “I made it really authentic to myself. I choreographed it myself, so I’m very excited for that. It’s a very upbeat and exciting floor routine, and it shows my ethnic background and my Sri Lankan heritage very well.”

Born in the middle of September 2007, Sumanasekera will still be 16 when this year’s U.S. Olympic trials roll around.

She feels – especially having watched Chiles, Biles and others in her gym compete into their mid 20s – time is on her side.

“Knowing that they are still in the sport and they’re still incredible, they’re in amazing shape… is something that I really look up to and want to be the same,” she said. “I would love to try for the ’28 Olympics. I mean, whatever happens, happens, but that is the goal and I’m just going to enjoy the process throughout the time and have fun with it.”

Olympics Games – ‘I Should Have Quit Way Before Tokyo’ – Simone Biles On Mental Health And ‘Twisties’

Simone Biles says that she has no regrets at all following the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but adds that she should have withdrawn ahead of the Games. The 24-year-old suffered from the ‘twisties’ during the team final and would also withdraw from the all-around, vault, uneven bars and floor finals. She would return to win bronze on the balance beam.

The 24-year-old gymnast pulled out of four individual Olympic finals during Tokyo to protect her mental health after suffering from the so-called ‘twisties’. She returned to compete in the balance beam final and won a bronze medal.
However, in a profile with The Cut, Biles has said that given the strain she suffered in the lead up to the Olympics, she should have withdrawn from competition before the event.

“If you looked at everything I’ve gone through for the past seven years, I should have never made another Olympic team,” began Biles.
Biles, the most decorated gymnast of all time, prepared for the Olympics after coming forward as a victim of the Larry Nassar abuse scandal. That fallout continues, with Biles giving her testimony to a US Senate hearing regarding failings in the investigation and prosecution of Nassar just two weeks ago.

 

“I should have quit way before Tokyo, when Larry Nassar was in the media for two years. It was too much,” she adds.
However, Biles added that she would not allow the disgraced former doctor to undo years of hard work.

BUT I WAS NOT GOING TO LET HIM TAKE SOMETHING I’VE WORKED FOR SINCE I WAS SIX YEARS OLD. I WASN’T GOING TO LET HIM TAKE THAT JOY AWAY FROM ME. SO I PUSHED PAST THAT FOR AS LONG AS MY MIND AND MY BODY WOULD LET ME.

However, at the Games, Biles suffered with the so-called ‘twisties’, where athletes lose all perspective of where they are in the air. After pulling out of the team final after her opening vault, she later withdrew from the all-around, vault, uneven bars and floor finals.
The four-time Olympic gold medalist added that the destabilizing effect of the ‘twisties’ was similar to a loss of eyesight in everyday life.

“Say up until you are 30 years old you have your complete eyesight,” she added.
“One morning, you wake up, you can’t see s***. But people tell you to go on and do your daily job as if you still have your eyesight. You’d be lost, wouldn’t you?”

THAT’S THE ONLY THING I CAN RELATE IT TO. I HAVE BEEN DOING GYMNASTICS FOR 18 YEARS. I WOKE UP — [AND] LOST IT. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GO ON WITH MY DAY?

“Sometimes it’s like, yeah, I’m perfectly okay with it. Like, that’s how it works. That’s how it panned out. And then other times I’ll just start bawling at the house.”
Biles added that she would not “change anything because everything happens for a reason” despite some less than generous coverage of her decision, and the 24-year-old gymnast said that being Black will have affected that coverage.

“As a Black woman, we just have to be greater,” she tells the outlet. “Because even when we break records and stuff, they almost just dim it down. as if it’s just normal.”
“No, I wouldn’t change anything because everything happens for a reason,” she continues. “And I learned a lot about myself – courage, resilience, how to say no and speak up for yourself. It will [take] a long time for someone to accomplish what I’ve accomplished.”

Amid this one of the fans whose birthday was on the day she shared the post reacted with a witty and sarcastic comment, “Not you stealing my birthday from me”. The 27-year-old gymnast replied to the comment, “@kalyn.www mines actually 3/14 so you’re good lol – happy birthday! im just late to posting”.

As Biles marked her birthday on March 14, her husband Jonathan Owen’s heart-warming post got a lot of eyes upon it. However, Biles forgot to share the moments from her precious day on the 14th itself and decided to post about it a few days later. While the late post drew a comment from a fan, her fitting reply was applaudable.
