The last year was a huge success for Charlie Woods! Tiger Woods’s son played the most number of events in the 2023 season and may start to replicate the success he achieved then in the 2024 season too. For now, the junior golfer has not competed in any of the matches. The 14-year-old started school in January and is probably waiting to make the official start soon.

Looking at his past season’s schedule, the 14-year-old may play in March and attempt to qualify for one of the biggest junior championships that usually happens near the end of the season in November.

Charlie Woods’s probable step toward the national championship
Last year in September, Woods Jr. won the Last Chance Regional event by hitting an 8-foot birdie at the par-4 18th hole to qualify for the Notah Begay III Junior Golf Championship. This was the second biggest moment of his amateur career as his team also captured the FHSAA Class A state championship in November. Interestingly, he might be on to something bigger in the 2024 season.

The qualifying event for the 2024 Notah Begay III Junior Golf Championship will be held in March at the Mission Inn Resort & Club. The event will start on June 26 and end on the 27th. Charlie Woods may participate in the event as it is the Florida Regional Final, his home state.

The event still has a deadline of Friday, June 21 (midnight). Although Woods’s name is not on the participating list yet, he may soon apply for it. In 2023, Woods Jr. was 14 strokes away from winning the Notah Begay III Junior Golf Championship and tied for fourteenth spot concluding the 54 holes with a final score of 2 over 215.

Last year, it was the last event before the Final Championship in Coushatta; this year as well, Charlie Woods may follow a similar schedule.

In the past season, Woods Jr. had his father caddie for him in all the events, which broke the news that Woods was healthy enough to return to golf. However, will Woods caddie for his son this year?

Can Tiger Woods caddie for his son with health issues?
t was at Riviera that Tiger Woods had his official start on the PGA Tour after his surgery in April 2023. However, the anticipated rounds of Woods were cut short as he withdrew from the event, citing the flu. By the time Charlie competes, Woods will be healthy again to caddy for his son since his influenza will probably recover. The ending of the GOAT’s first appearance was not good, but the start was also somewhat less attractive.

In round one of the Genesis Invitational, Woods shanked the last hole. After playing 18 holes, Woods experienced back spasms again. It should be noted that the 15-time major champion has had six back surgeries in his life. It highlighted that Woods cannot take as much pressure as he previously used.

However, he might caddie using a motorized golf cart since he loves to spend time with his son on the course. As for the regional finals, the NBIII committee asks for prior approval for the caddies to use the golf cart. Once that is acquired and his health is available, the golfer may caddie for Charlie, just like last year.

In 2018, GOLF.com asked Tiger Woods if his kids had any interest in following his footsteps into the golf world. “No, not really. They’re keen into soccer,” he said. “If they want to play golf, that’s great. If they don’t, that’s fine, too.” Six years later, his son, Charlie Woods, has become a sensation in the golf world, in part thanks to his uncanny resemblance to his father’s skills and mannerisms. Sam Woods, on the other hand? She’s stayed passionate about soccer, even competing for the Benjamin Buccaneers on the regional level. However, what was turning out to be a remarkable season for the team ended in heartbreak.

The 19-year-old and her team were one step away from the Florida High School Athletics Association’s Class 3A Girls Soccer Regional Finals. Coming into the semifinals with a 17-0 record this season, the Benjamin Buccaneers were the No.1-ranked team in Class 3A, No.2 in Florida, and No.9 in the US. Needless to say, the odds were in their favor against the King’s Academy Lions, who had an 11-4-2 record. However, as the game kicked off on February 9, the Lions proved to be more formidable than expected.

Despite being without their star player, Lola Hathorne, the Lions displayed their defensive prowess. But so did Sam Woods’ Buccaneers. After a goalless regulation play, the match went into 20 minutes of overtime. However, both teams held their ground, and overtime ended with a 0-0 score. That meant an impending penalty shootout.

Sam Woods’ team took the first shot, but the Lions goalkeeper stopped it. But as the Lions stepped up to the spot, their first penalty was saved, too. With both teams scoring their next two penalties, it was 2-2. But when Woods’ team missed another, King’s Academy saw an opening and took it, leading 3-2. They needed to score just once more to seal the deal, and that’s precisely what they did. Unfortunately, that meant Woods’ team’s unbeaten run came to an end, and so did their season.

Having lost their chance to go up against Edgewood in the Regional Finals, given their stellar stats, the match was a disappointing turn of events for Benjamin School. This defeat pushed Sam Woods and her team out of the race for the State Championship as well, dropping down to third in the district rankings. While this was disheartening, especially after the 5-0 result of the same fixture a year ago, they’ll “learn from this and come back stronger,” per their coach.

As for Sam Woods, what has her three years at Benjamin School looked like so far?

Sam Alexis Woods Biography: Meet Tiger Woods' Daughter

Tiger Woods would be proud of Sam’s wins with the Benjamin Buccaneers
Sam Woods is the 25th-ranked player in 3A D11 stats and has scored 7 goals in her 3 years with the Benjamin Buccaneers, having played 46 varsity games. This season alone, she played in 15 games, scoring 4 goals and making 2 assists. After defeating the Lions in the semifinals last year, Woods’ team played against this season’s regional champions, Edgewood. However, they missed out on the state semifinals as Edgewood got the better of them.

However, the Buccaneers won the District Championship in Palm Beach in 2023 and clinched the Ryan Rogers Remembrance Soccer Tournament later in August. Although Benjamin School’s girls soccer team has not won a title at the state level in the last three years, Sam Woods & Co. will aim to come back stronger next season, making the most of their chances to play for the State Championship!

Tiger Woods says he’s feeling better. He says he’s resting.

And he also confirmed via a Saturday statement what had been speculated a day earlier, when he stunningly withdrew from the Genesis Invitational.

He has influenza.

The statement over his social channels was just four sentences, and it was unclear if he, as the tournament host, would try to return to the Genesis during Sunday’s final round. The message was also the latest news in a Woods whirlwind.

He’d been making his first PGA Tour start since last April, when he withdrew from the Masters, and he shot an up-and-down, one-over 72 during Thursday’s first round. He made five birdies. He made six bogeys. He shanked once. Afterward, he blamed the mishit on a back spasm.

Friday, during the Genesis’ second round, he opened with a birdie. But playing partner Gary Woodland later admitted Woods looked off. There were reports that he took multiple bathroom stops. By the 7th hole, he was done, and PGA Tour rules official Pete Dachisen carted him back to the clubhouse.

Uncertainty followed. Mark Dusbabek told Golf Channel viewers that the WD was not due to his back, but because of an illness. An ambulance and two fire trucks appeared at Riviera. Medical professionals entered and exited the clubhouse every few minutes. After a while, the fire trucks and ambulance left.

They were followed later by Woods. At about 3:40 p.m. local time, Woods exited, driven away by an official in a red Genesis coupe.

Rob McNamara, a longtime Woods confidante, released this question-and-answer statement via the PGA Tour communications team:

Question: “With the WD, was it purely illness? Was it — just explain it.”

McNamara: “Yeah. So he started feeling some flu-like symptoms last night. Woke up this morning, they were worse than the night previous. He had a little bit of a fever and that, and was better during the warm-up, but then when he got out there and was walking and playing, he started feeling dizzy. Ultimately the doctors are saying he’s got some — potentially some type of flu and that he was dehydrated. He’s been treated with an IV bag and he’s doing much, much better and he’ll be released on his own here soon.”

Question “Just to confirm, with all the EMT trucks, you know, everybody, the personnel here, everybody was thinking there was a lot of seriousness going on. So nothing structural as far as back or ankle or …”

McNamara: “Correct, correct. Not physical at all; his back’s fine. It was all medical illness, dehydration, which is now the symptoms are reversing themselves now that he’s had an IV.”

After his round, Woodland said Woods didn’t look “right.”

“He was quieter,” Woodland said. “Obviously it’s cut day, we’re all trying to play well, especially the whole group’s trying to focus and pick ourselves up and play well. Yeah, it was — I feel bad for him, he wasn’t right. He definitely was trying to fight through it and I hope he’s all right.”

Saturday, Woods said he was. At 10:15 a.m. local time, his social media accounts shared this:

“I would like to confirm that I had to withdraw from @thegenesisinv due to illness, which we now know is influenza. I am resting and feeling better. Good luck to the players this weekend. I’m disappointed to not be there and want to thank @GenesisUSA and all the fans for the support.”

Spiranac, the world’s biggest golf influencer, decided to have some fun with the news of Tiger Woods and TaylorMade joining.

Syndication: Akron Beacon Journal, Paige Spiranac

Monday night, Tiger Woods unveiled his new apparel line, Sun Day Red. He is partnering with TaylorMade creating a unique, premium shoewear and clothing line that will have fans running to the store.

One day later, golf influencer Paige Spiranac decided to have some related fun.

Spiranac took to X, formerly Twitter, to post some truly hysterical content.

“Working on my new clothing line logo Fri Day Cut. The lines represent how many over par I was in my first pro tournament,” she wrote.

There is actually a bit more to unpack there than meets the eye.

Obviously, yes, the image she depicts has certain connotations to it physically. But also, the words itself have some meaning.

Part of what makes Spiranac so much fun is how self-deprecating she can be. Fri Day Cut, come on, that’s good. Then there’s the reference to Tiger’s stripes.

Woods’ new logo for Sun Day Red, as he pointed out during the special press event Monday night that Playing Through was invited to, was tailor made to him, pun intended.

Each of the 15 stripes on the new logo represent Woods’ 15 major championships.

Woods jokingly said at the event that the logo will need to be changed though after he wins his 16th major title.

Tiger partnering with TaylorMade comes on the heels of the shocking split with Nike after 27 years. Woods had actually been playing with TaylorMade equipment for the last few years since Nike curtailed their footprint in the sport of golf.

So, the divorce was only a matter of time.

All the while, leave it to Spiranac to find a comedic approach. She has built her reputation on her wittiness, sexuality and also her golfing prowess. Much of that was put on display yet again Tuesday with this post.

After announcing the launch of Sun Day Red, Tiger Woods shared what his kids Sam and Charlie told him about his apparel line with TaylorMade Golf.

Tiger Woods is exploring a new course.

After the pro golfer announced his apparel line Sun Day Red with TaylorMade Golf, he revealed how his daughter, Sam, 16, and 15-year-old son Charlie’s reactions were on par with how any teen would respond.

Tiger Woods' daughter Sam amazes as her father's caddy for first time | Marca

“They are kids, right?” he told Erin Andrews at a Los Angeles press event on Feb. 12. “Something that looks cool, just doesn’t. ‘Dad, you serious?’ Things of that nature.”

Still, the athlete wants his kids—who he shares with ex Elin Nordegren—to have a grip on what he was doing.

“When I explained the process to them and the material that we’re gonna be using—the high-end premium products—that kind of goes a little bit above them,” he continued. “But they said ‘Dad, is it going to be cool?’ And I said, ‘Of course it’s gonna be cool.’ And that’s all they care about.”

And while Sam has served as his caddie and Charlie followed in Tiger’s footsteps by playing golf himself, the 15-time majors champion isn’t putting pressure on his son to sport his new line.

“He can wear whatever the hell he wants,” the 48-year-old admitted. “I just wish I had his hair.”

Tiger Woods, Charlie Woods

Because in the end, they’re separate people—something Tiger has made very clear to the sports community.

“Don’t compare him to me,” Tiger said on a 2022 episode of Another Golf Podcast. “‘Cause he’s not me, he’s Charlie, OK? He’s going to be his own person. Whatever road he goes down, he’s going to go down his own road and he’s going to create his own path.”

And to him, that’s life’s hole in one.

“That to me is so important as a father that I provide that environment and that support that he can go down whatever path he wants to,” Tiger continued. “I just want him to be the best at it.”

Who is Tiger Woods partnering up with? This question has dominated the minds of the ardent fans of the legend in the community ever since he exited Nike and teased a new apparel announcement with a couple of cryptic messages, one of which came out just a while back. Now, interestingly, the golfer’s final ‘Sunday Red’ tease seems to hint at a partnership with a certain brand, none other than Greyson Clothiers.

A tweet was shared by TWLEGION, a fan page dedicated to the professional, dishing out their “initial observations” regarding the post that Mr. T shared on February 10. While doing so, the handle seems to have taken a page out of the rumors associated with the legend’s son, Charlie Woods, who is reportedly said to have signed a deal with Greyson Clothiers.

Is Tiger Woods set to sign with Greyson Clothiers?
Woods had earlier divulged how he would reveal the details surrounding the ‘Sunday Red’ brand on February 12th. Well, commenting on the second tease following the same, the post shared on social media by TWLEGION mentions how the “collar” of the red shirt that the golfer sports in the X post “resembles Greyson stitch pattern and design.”

Reports, as per the sightings, thus indicate he is set to follow his son to the clothing company. Earlier in December 2023, the 14-year-old athlete was also rumored to have signed with Greyson Clothiers owing to his sporting garments from the label during his PNC Championship appearance with his father. Moreover, he was also welcomed to the family by NFL Sensation Larry Fitzgerald on his Instagram story, thereby adding fuel to the fire of speculations surrounding the same.

Well, that wasn’t all the fan page observed from the recent picture posted by the 15-time major champ. Commenting on his attire, the tweet also recounted how the legend “has never worn woven belts like this.” Adding on, however, they also pointed out how only guys like Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler wear “a belt similar to this from Nike.”

However, was that all that was observed from the post that was shared by the golfer? No, not even close, as another fan site put on their detective hats to dish out another set of speculations as per the recent sightings.

Woods’s cryptic announcement hints at partnership
TWSPOT, which is yet another fan site for the legend, went ahead to put on their sleuthing spectacles to observe the gloves that the 48-year-old was wearing in the post. They pointed out how “TaylorMade’s new Sunday Red logo is visible on the glove,” all the while speculating an alliance with his trusted club makers.

Nevertheless, in the end, that’s what they are—just rumors. But not to worry, just one more day is remaining for the athlete to make do with his promise and let his fans and the community know what or who is behind the iconic ‘Sunday Red’ announcements. Let us calm down and wait a bit more!

The 2024 LPGA season is on a small break! But don’t think that there is any less action happening in the lives of female pros! A lot of new stuff is happening in the golf world, just outside the greens. Like how Tiger Woods asked Nelly Korda to hit a ‘Kisser Cut’ and how Jessica Korda recently became a mommy golfer. Another LPGA star doing a lot in her off-season is Lexi Thompson!

The American golfer played only one LPGAT event this year and earned $21,585 from her 16th finish at the LPGA Drive-On Championship. However, it looks like the 28-year-old got the rest she needed for her next event.

Lexi Thompson switches on her vacation mode
The LPGA Tour is on a break until the Honda LPGA Thailand and many female golfers are enjoying the downtime. However, the event will start in the last week of February, and Thompson is preparing! In an Instagram post from the last day of January, she urged her fans to “push yourself, because nobody else is going to do it for you.”

Furthermore, she was seen donning a pair of Puma apparel, the brand she has been trusting since 2010. It is claimed by Forbes that the American golfer earns around $4 million a year from her endorsements!

Apart from working out for her next event, Lexi Thompson is also vacationing in the Dominican Republic. The LPGA star shared glimpses of her sunbathing in the resort town of Punta Cana while also sipping on some tropical juices.

But along with that, she noted that it is “time to get back home to grind.” After being away from the LPGA Tour for a month, she is getting her equipment in top-notch condition.

The American golfer is prepared for the upcoming LPGA Tour event
Lexi Thompson recently shared her visit to Club Champion with her fans. They are known for their professional golf club-fitting. The LPGA star claimed Club Champion fine-tuned her clubs, preparing her for the event in Thailand.

Her stardom has attracted a lot of brand deals towards her, making her one of the top-paid female golfers. However, she has repeatedly used her name for good too. Like recently, she raised awareness about a woe of female athletes – muscle pain.

She praised Iovera, a treatment method that uses extreme cold to temporarily stop nerves from sending immediate pain signals. This method is a great boon for athletes while they are on the field.

From all her social media posts made during the break, it looks like Lexi Thompson has kept herself busy by taking up new deals. But she has also not forgotten to kick back and relax, destressing before the big showdown in Thailand.

In the game of golf, a caddie is the golfer’s closest accomplice. With a deep insight into their best and worst shots, they surely know the golfer they are working with through and through. The key requirement of developing a deep insight coupled with an elongated period—that’s exactly what Steve Williams offered Tiger Woods. That was until it all abruptly ended.

With 12 years of professional togetherness – from 1999 to 2011 – Williams saw Woods through some of his career’s most powerful highs and deepest lows. Sharing an insight into his time with the now-48-year-old sensation, the caddie recently revealed what made their partnership work.

Steve Williams had a bond like no other with Tiger Woods
With a relationship as long as the one between Woods and his long-time former caddie, ups and downs become part and parcel. Years after unveiling some dark aspects from their time together, Steve Williams recently gave the golf world the shock of their lives with his new (and contradictory) take on the golf world’s hall of fame-r.

Williams revealed that what they had was more of a partnership than a boss-employee bond, a commonality between most players and their caddies. Describing his relationship with the 15-time Major winner, the former caddie said, “I think we had a bond probably closer than any of the other players I’d carry for, certainly because I was considerably older than Tiger. We struck a relationship where we both had the same attitude towards seeing the same kind of hard work, dedication. We just struck a bond that probably I haven’t struck with any other player. So we became very tight, for sure.” But that wasn’t all.

Apart from pushing each other to the limit on the golf course, Woods managed to do so even outside the greens. “When I went to work with him, he brought a whole new meaning for the word ‘fitness’ to me,” revealed Williams. What made these comments rather striking was the fact that they came eight years after Woods’ former caddie published his autobiography. And one thing he said about Woods left the golf community perplexed.

In his autobiography Out of the Rough, Steve Williams called out Woods for treating him like a “slave.” In his words, “One thing that really pi**ed me off was how he would flippantly toss a club in the general direction of the bag, expecting me to go over and pick it up. I felt uneasy about bending down to pick up his discarded club, it was like I was his slave.”

Considering this and Williams’ recent revelation about his partnership with Woods, how did their relationship turn sour?

Williams and Woods: Exploring their dark past

Until 2011, Steve Williams was Tiger Woods’ right-hand man. However, around the time the 15-time Major champion fired his caddie, he was also facing allegations of infidelity toward his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren. On top of that, his professional career wasn’t doing so well either. But instead of sticking with Williams post that period, Woods parted ways, shocking everyone.

However, shortly after, Williams started working with Adam Scott. And that’s when the first cracks in the Woods-Williams relationship came to the surface. After Scoot won at Bridgestone with Williams, the caddie said, “I’ve been caddying for 33 years, and this is the best week of my life.” In an interview, he opened up about how Woods fired him, revealing, “I was told after U.S. Open that I no longer had a job.”

There was a time when several outlets claimed Williams even made a racist comment about Woods after the split. When Woods was asked about it, though, he stood by his former partner’s side. He said, “Steve’s certainly not a racist. There’s no doubt about that. It was a comment that certainly shouldn’t have been made and certainly one that he wished he didn’t make.”

Tiger Woods has made it abundantly clear over the years that parting with Williams was a very tough decision. And despite all the ups and downs, Woods expressed how it was “awesome to have Stevie for all those years.” From what Steve Williams said in his recent interview, they seemed to have left their differences behind. What do you think about the relationship?

With Nike gone, what’s next for Tiger Woods? This has been a concern for more than half of the golf fans since then. The 27-year-long partners announced their fallout in early January this year. With the golf world debating over whether the 15x major winner would go for FootJoy, Greyson, or Adidas, and some even suggesting his own brand, the rumors on the topic were more available on the internet than the facts. However, Woods has finally decided to put an end to those rumors and debates with his latest social media post.

The golfer’s social media revealed the latest photo with the message, “A new day rises 2.12.24.” At first glance, it seemed hard to decipher what the post meant. It looked more or the same as what the golf legend posted a few days ago, which left the golf world confused. However, nothing can be kept hidden from his legion of fans for long.

Just minutes after the 48-year-old’s cryptic update, his famous and detective-like fansite quickly spotted the Sunday red logo on the TaylorMade gloves he was wearing in the picture. But what could this mean? Well, it definitely means good news for TaylorMade!

The Sunday red logo sneak peek on the gloves is a giveaway that the golfer will be partnering with his trusted club makers for years to launch the new apparel brand. However, the golf world will only be able to see him in his entire outfit on February 12th, as mentioned in the social media post, and will see him play in it next weekend when he tees up at the Genesis Invitational.

The new launch indicates a strong comeback promise from Tiger Woods
“A tournament a month.” Those words from Tiger Woods’s mouth sounded almost like a lie to the golf world, as the history since his 2021 accident has painted a different story in everyone’s mind. But those worries would come to an end with his latest apparel launch.

The trust TaylorMade has put in Woods and his ability to continue playing on the PGA Tour is a major proof of that. Confidently announcing the Genesis Invitational come back as a “playing host” to the world amid the launch also shows the fans can expect nothing less than an event a month from him.

The events he played toward the end of last year and walking 18 holes proved that Woods no longer has troubles with his leg. Tiger Woods may have failed to keep his promises to play all the majors, but this time, he means it. And who knows, maybe he might wear the green jacket on his new Sunday red this year.

Tiger Woods will make his first PGA Tour appearance of the year at the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, the golfer has confirmed.
“Excited to be host next week,” Woods posted on social media.

The 48-year-old last competed in an official PGA Tour event at the 2023 Masters tournament in April but played in two events in December.

Woods played with his son Charlie at the PNC Championship in Orlando on December 18 after playing in the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas earlier in the month.

The 15-times major champion, has struggled since suffering severe leg injuries in a 2021 car crash and he underwent ankle surgery after the Masters in April.

The Genesis Invitational is held from February 15-18 and Woods is the host of the event.

Last month Woods said he was ending his long-standing partnership with sportswear company Nike and it will be interesting to see what equipment and clothing he features in at Riviera.

After playing at the PNC Championship, Woods said he felt in shape to carry out his plan of monthly competitive action this year.

“I’ll be able to walk and play,” Woods said after the final round of the Orlando event.

“We’ve been working out hard, been able to recover. We’ve been training every day, which is great. It’s been nice to knock off a lot of the rust and some of the doubt that I’ve had because quite frankly I haven’t hit a shot that counted in a long time,” he said.

The Masters will be held at Augusta National the week of April 8.

The 2024 schedule sees the PGA Championship in May, the US Open in June and the British Open in July.
