The new year is here, and with it comes a lot of excitement and anticipation for the upcoming golf season. LIV Golf has shaken up the golf world and is set to kick off its second full season in February and the third season overall. On the contrary, the traditional PGA Tour is starting its 2024 season in just a couple of days! Both of the leagues now feature some of the biggest names and talents that the golf world has! But what might be the “hottest” prediction for the backway league’s upcoming season?

On the New Year’s occasion, LIV Golf’s official Instagram account posted a picture of Brooks Koepka along with a burning question. The Saudi-funded league asked fans to make the wildest prediction for the 2024 season, saying, “Drop your hottest LIV Golf prediction for the 2024 season.”

With many young and established golfers in the league, fans had their share of picks. The golf enthusiasts were quick to respond, and the post received thousands of likes and hundreds of comments.

Fans go overboard with their predictions
The fans’ responses varied, as everyone almost had a different ‘hot’ prediction to mention The array of interesting comments reflects the diverse opinions and expectations of golf fans.

One user made the prediction based on the assumption that LIV Golf players will still be eligible to play in the four major championships. He wrote, “Liv players takе 50% of thе majors.” However, it’s not impossible; they can participate if they meet the qualification criteria.

One of the most surprising and unlikely comments was from a user who predicted Tiger Woods would join the LIV Golf League in 2024. He simply wrote, ‘Tigеr Joining’. Notably, there were speculations that the 15x major winner was reportedly offered $700 million from the league, which he rejected.

Wanting for the orange man to join the league, one user commented, “Rickie Fowler joins LIV.”

One of the fans predicted that “Brooks and Cam Smith win another major.” Notably, Brooks Koepka has won five majors and became the first LIV golfer to win a major tournament. Their fans would love to see the other side add another major trophy to their collection in 2024.

Jon Rahm joined LIV Golf in December for reportedly $566 million. People in the golf fraternity are excited about his first season, and one fan had a prediction for the Spaniard’s debut season. “Rahm wins at least three events,” wrote the fan.

Another “hottest” prediction is that Adam Scott is probably signing with Cameron Smith’s team, the Rippers GC. He wrote, “Adam Scott signs with Rippеrs”.

One excited user didn’t make one prediction; he made three. First, ‘Rahm wins multiple events’, second, “Bryson wins the championship, and lastly, ‘LIV players take 50% of majors’, which is a common prediction of many fans.

Which prediction do you think will be correct? or do you have anyone of your own? Let us know in the comment section below!

The new year is almost here, and everyone is ready with their New Year’s resolutions. Like everyone else, golf influencer Paige Spiranac is also ready with a set of goals for 2024. The year 2023 had its ups and downs for the 30-year-old as she opened up about her struggle with mental health issues.

But on the flip side, she rose to new heights in popularity among golf fans, coming close to the legend himself, Tiger Woods. Now she wants to continue this in 2024. To achieve that, Spiranac revealed one habit of hers that she will let go of to attain more positivity.

Paige Spiranac wants to just be herself in 2024
In her podcast, Playing a Round with Paige, the golf influencer listed some of her goals for 2024. She had a list of goals to achieve, ranging from diet changes to content creation. But a common theme among all her goals was positivity and mental health. For her final goal in 2024, Spiranac wants to be true to herself and her brand.

She has become the target of online harassment from time to time for her content. And the golf diva admitted that the criticism got to her. “I think there are times that when people come at me, I get defensive, or I try to always talk about my point of view or why I’m doing this and I want to stop doing that in 2024,” she said.

The World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler doesn’t even make the cut

Despite only playing three tournaments this year, Tiger Woods still managed to reign supreme off the fairways.

The 15-time major winner is the most popular figure in golf and his presence is still felt on social media even with his limited appearances.

The 47-year-old’s 2023 season was once again hampered by injury as he was forced to withdraw from the Masters following the third round with reaggravated plantar fasciitis in April and underwent ankle surgery two weeks later.

Before that he teed it up at the Genesis Open in February and only made his competitive return from surgery at the Hero World Challenge at the end of November before playing the parent-child team event, the PNC Championship, with son Charlie in December.

But Woods seemingly didn’t need to be topping the leaderboards to continue to cement his place as a fan favorite as he came out as the most popular golfer of 2023, according to Vegas Insider.

According to the site’s data, Woods led golf’s Google searches in 42 out of 50 states in the United States.

Even off the fairways, Woods is a leading figure in the game, joining the PGA Tour’s policy board as a player director earlier this year amid the turbulent negotiations with LIV Golf.

He also has the tendency to easily set the internet alight, most recently with rumors of a split from Nike and his viral ‘Big Dog’ meme.

But before his first round of the PNC Championship, Woods was filmed greeting his son Charlie’s caddie with a firm handshake as he called him ‘Big Dog’, which sent fans on social media into meltdown with hilarious responses as to what the exchange reminded them of.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen then used the phrase while talking to his teammates against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Woods’ Google triumph saw him beat golf’s glamor girl and social media sensation, Paige Spiranac, who boasts an impressive 3.9 million followers on Instagram.

She came in as the most-Googled player in four states and second in 32.

The blonde beauty even earned herself the title of ‘world’s sexiest woman’ from Maxim

Spiranac, who played Division 1 college golf at both the University of Arizona and San Diego State before struggling to make it on the LPGA Tour, has taken social media by storm in her tiny, tight-fit skirts and low-cut tops, earning her the title of ‘world’s sexiest woman’.

While she may have failed to pip Woods in the Google rankings this year, Spiranac easily rivals the 82-time winner on the PGA Tour and Rory McIlroy in terms of social media popularity.

The American beauty is worth around $3.7m, and rakes in an estimated $12,000 per Instagram post.

That is more per Instagram post than the likes of Woods and McIlroy, the biggest names in the men’s game.

Two thousand dollars more than Woods to be precise, with the 15-time major winner boasting just 3.3m Instagram followers compared to Spiranac’s 3.9m.

Meanwhile, McIlroy, who has been the PGA Tour’s most outspoken supporter against LIV over the past two years, dominated third place in most states.

However, surprisingly World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is nowhere to be seen on the leaderboard, with the Texan not even coming third in his home state.

Keegan Bradley came top in his home state of Vermont             Tony Finau was the most popular in his native Utah

But the likes of Rickie Fowler, Viktor Hovland, Jon Rahm and Collin Morikawa also cropped up as popular searches.

Tom Hoge somewhat surprisingly came in top in North Dakota but given he was raised and still resides in Fargo, ND, he clearly has a loyal home-state fanbase.

Similarly, Keegan Bradley was the most popular search in his home state of Vermont after he won the Travelers Championship in Connecticut, and, Tony Finau was the most popular in his native Utah.

Meanwhile, although not an Oklahoma native, Fowler topped the charts in The Sooner State, as an Oklahoma State Cowboy alum.

Tiger Woods, the 15-time major champion, all is set to feature in the 2023 PNC Championship at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. Woods is slated to compete with his son, Charlie, in the event which runs from Friday to Sunday (Dec. 15-17) and has a prize money of $1.085 million at play.

Defending champions Vijay and Qass Singh are set to take on a strong group of PGA and LPGA Tour pros along with their kin.

Last year’s PNC Championship made a lasting impression. Let us take a look at some of the best moments featuring Tiger Woods and his son from the 2022 edition of the tournament.

Top 4 Tiger and Charlie Woods moments at 2022 PNC Championship
#1 Team Woods shot 59 points in the first round:

The father-son combination stormed the event with a spectacular opening round of 59, demonstrating Tiger Wood’s lasting ability. In the midst of concerns about his health, the round hushed detractors by demonstrating not only Woods’ ability to swing freely, but also Charlie’s bright upward trajectory in the golfing world.

#2 Charlie Demonstrates Trash-Talking Abilities:

During the competition, young Charlie demonstrated his trash-talking abilities in a display of smart banter. Charlie imitated his father’s gamesmanship by effectively responding to a message left by PGA professional Mike Thomas. The discussion injected levity to the battle and exposed Charlie’s confidence, which was surely bolstered by growing up with a father who had 82 PGA TOUR victories.

#3 Tiger Woods outdriving Justin Thomas:

Woods outdrove Justin Thomas on the 11th hole, which was one of the PNC Championship’s defining moments. The event was a reminder of Tiger Wood’s resilience following his car accident in 2021 and subsequent uncertainties about his return to competitive golf. Tiger’s effort, despite physical obstacles, not only impressed observers but also signified his willingness to compete at the greatest level alongside his son.

#4 Father-son mannerisms include similar motions:

Aside from the scores and drives, viewers were struck by Tiger and Charlie Woods’ striking similarity in motions and demeanor. A video emphasizing these shared characteristics went viral, giving an emotional element to the PNC Championship. Observers noticed that Charlie had smoothly picked up peculiarities from his father, providing viewers with a one-of-a-kind and touching spectacle.

Tiger Woods has revealed his committed to playing at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas after caddying for his son Charlie Axel Woods at the Last Chance Regional in September.

Addressing a press conference before the start of the Hero World Challenge, Woods made the revelation whilst providing an update on his injury status.

“This event is special and this is the most enjoyable week for the players. Hero’s involvement has elevated this event. But my game feels rusty and I am excited to compete but am curious to see what happens. Have no pain that I had previously,” said Woods.

Commitment to playing came after I caddied for my son. Not concerned about walking 72 holes. Ankle pain has gone. My knee and back hurts though,” added the legendary golfer.

Notably, 47-year-old Woods caddied for his son in the second round of the tournament which helped Charlie advance to the Notah Begay III National Championship.

The father-son duo first shared a public golf outing in 2020. At the time, Tiger spoke about how special it felt to have his son by his side on the course.

“I don’t think words can describe it. Just the fact that we were able to have this experience together, Charlie and I. It’s memories for a lifetime,” he said.

Mentorship role for Woods?
The 15-time Major champion hosts the Hero World Challenge and it will be his first appearance on the course since he withdrew from the 2023 Masters.

With injuries taking a toll on Woods’ body, questions have been arising if the golfing talisman might be transitioning to a leadership role on the tour.

“I’m not a senior yet. Mentoring players is natural progression. Want to pass on the knowledge I have learnt and I learnt as well from asking questions. Enjoy that I can make an impact differently than hitting a golf ball,” said Woods during the briefing.

Even if Woods does not fare well on his return to the course, fans would be happy to catch a glimpse of one of the greatest players to have ever played the sport, having some fun with his colleagues.

Tiger Woods has some new-look gear in his bag at the Hero World Challenge this week (you can read more about it from our Jonathan Wall here). But aside from clubs and shafts, a few of Tiger’s latest accessories also caught our eye.

Let’s talk about Tiger wearing FootJoys, his Costa dad-glasses moment and his signature plush tiger headcover (always a classic).

What’s on Tiger’s feet?
Woods is back in FootJoys, which is a sight to which golf fans have grown accustomed in recent Woods starts. What happened with Nike? No one’s saying. We’re still in wait-and-see-mode.

Woods has worn Nikes since signing with the footwear behemoth after his pro debut in 1996 and Nike is still selling Tiger Woods golf shoes. But now — with ankle issues stemming from his car crash and surgery, among other issues with his knee — Woods is prioritizing stability and comfort above all else. And FootJoy has become Woods’ go-to shoe.

On Tuesday at the Hero, Woods was in an unmarked prototype….

…but on Wednesday, he was in a white pair of FootJoys, the Premiere Series Wilcox.

At both the 2022 and 2023 Masters, Woods wore FootJoy’s Premier Series Packards. When asked at the 2023 Masters why he wasn’t wearing the newest Nike Tiger Woods golf shoes, Woods said, “I have very limited mobility now. Just with the rods and plates and screws that are in my leg, I needed something different, something that allowed me to be more stable. That’s what I’ve gone to.”

Nike seems to be supportive of Tiger, judging by their (most recent) response in 2022: “Like golf fans around the world, we are delighted to see Tiger back on the course. He is an incredible athlete, and it is phenomenal to see him returning to the game at this level. His story continues to transcend sport and inspire us all. As he continues his return, we will work with him to meet his new needs.”

What else is Tiger sporting?
Teeing it up in the Bahamas? You best pack a quality pair of shades. Woods’ sunglasses of choice this week are from Costa. According to the brand, the polarized lenses provide 100% UV coverage and a “C-Wall” coating provides extra scratch-resistance and a barrier that repels water, oil and sweat for easy cleaning.

A roundup of Woods’ accessories wouldn’t be complete without his famous Daphne’s Tiger driver headcover, which Tiger keeps on his big club. You can pick one up here for 40 bucks:

Woods is also set to play in next week’s Hero World Challenge. He and his son have played the PNC in each of the past three years.

Tiger Woods and his son, Charlie, will compete in this year’s PNC Championship, a 36-hole event for major championship members and one of their relatives.

Tiger Woods, Charlie Woods

It will be the fourth straight year that Woods competes in the event, which will be played Dec. 16-17 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.

Woods, who is also scheduled to play in next week’s Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, tied for second with Charlie in the 2021 event, which was the first time he played publicly since the car crash of February 2021 which caused significant injuries to his lower right leg and foot.

The tournament, which has a Friday pro-am, is sanctioned by the PGA Tour Champions, which means Woods is allowed to use a golf cart.

“It is an amazing gift to be able to share my love of golf with Charlie,’’ Woods said in a statement released by the tournament.

Others in the 20-team field include Lee Trevino, 83, who is making his 26th appearance in the event and Padraig Harrington. Justin Thomas, John Daly, Vijay Singh, Nelly Korda, Annika Sorenstam and Tom Lehman are also scheduled to play.
